What have you found lately to enable my shopping needs?  Here is my way TMI contribution: Always Infinity pads with Flex Foam. I found them by accident. I have crime scene periods and was at a training and ill prepared. I went to Target and the entire aisle of feminine products was nearly wiped clean. It was after a storm and the pharmacist said they had a group of Girl Scouts come in for a service project of taking supplies to a homeless shelter  . My choices were the Always Infinity night time pads or the super duper thick diaper-esque store brand. I took my chances. Now... the night time ones were just way to long. I don't need crack to crack coverage but holy absorption! I was so impressed! I went to my Target and bought the "regular" ones. Unfortunately they come with wings which I do not like, but the absorption is well, post worthy.  I don't think these are new to the market but they are new to me. My hair dresser introduced me to Redkin's Pillow Proof hair dry serum. Gotta say it made my hair feel a lot better after blow drying. A bit pricey but I don't use that much. And somehow Oreo creme filled Chips Ahoys found a way in my cart. I don't know that I loved them, but they were all consumed.  What have you found? |

Solo one step gel polish at Ulta - you can cure with UV or LED, but it is a million times easier than the 3-step (base, color, topcoat, wipe off sticky) gel polish and seems to be lasting well at a week out. It was on clearance at Ulta last week so I'm thinking they may stop carrying it.

My addition would be Filled Cupcake Oreos. They are chocolate cookies, with chocolate filling that has a dot of white cream filling in the dead center, just like Hostess Cupcakes. The entire package may or may not have been consumed in three days... Thankfully not ALL by me!

Those Infinity pads are A-MAZING. Love them. They actually make them with and without wings, but the boxes look identical so you have to read very closely.

And I have a coupon! Yeah, I have a UV light I bought on either Amazon or Ebay and it works fine. You just need to do 2 minute to cure for the UV vs 1 minute for the LED. |

I am getting over a chest cold, so my "finds" are melon and sugar free citrus halls cough drops. I really hate menthol, and honey/cherry/licorice/"herb" cough drops are all gross. But the melon (theyre green, so honeydew) don't suck. And neither do the sugar free citrus. I was glad not to dread having to eat them. (The sugar free have aspartame, which is FINE by me because I can't stand sucralose, but I know some people say the same about the aspartame). Another great product I found is Hint water. It is flavored flat water but WITHOUT sweeteners of any kind. I'm super excited about that. It's a little pricey for water but when I consider how much I spend at Starbucks, it's not bad. It's only $3 per case of water to ship. I signed up for their flavor of the month and am looking forward to that. I didn't like the cucumber water (tasted like bitter green underripe peel rather than actual cucumber), but the pineapple, blood orange, and grapefruit (fizzy) have all been good. |

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue --- a cross between a BB & CC cream plus tinted moisturizer. Love this product!! A tiny tiny amount applied by a makeup / foundation brush will apply coverage.

A local store to me had just a few flavors available as single bottles, and that store does not show up on the store finder, so they must have been testing it to decide whether to carry it. You might be lucky and find some locally. I'm surprised they are hard to find. They are everywhere out here in CA or maybe it's just that dh gets them at work and is constantly bringing them home so it feels like they are everywhere. I am pretty sure they have been handed out at a couple races (5k/10k/half marathon) that we have done as well. I'm not a fan, but dh loves them. |

Someone had recommended Micellar Water a while back for makeup removal. Well, Garnier jumped on the bandwagon and is selling it now. So I purchased a bottle thinking it would be like any other makeup remover I used in the past. My skin is very sensitive, I have to wear sunscreen because of a sun allergy and I have 40 year old skin that is starting to show signs of aging. No matter what I used it irritated my skin and eyes. But the Micellar Water surprised me. It took off my eye makeup with no irritation to my eyes. It left my face clean, no redness or irritation and no dryness. The best thing is that it really cleanses out my pores from the sunscreen. I really love this stuff.
I've also begun using TiZo Mineral Sunscreen with a very light application of IT Cosmetics "Your Skin But Better" foundation. The sunscreen works like a primer, is lightly tinted and makes my skin feel silky smooth. The foundation evens out my skin tone but doesn't feel cakey, or heavy.
I'm also using IT Cosmetics brow pencil. So far it's the best brow pencil I've ever used. It fills in those sparse areas and looks natural.
One more IT Cosmetics recommendation: their lipstick! Many lipsticks end up causing my lips to peel. Theirs doesn't. It goes on smoothly, moisturizing and giving my lips a natural color that doesn't look "made up".
I am on the hunt for a perfect for me mascara. I haven't found it yet. I did try IT Cosmetics mascara and hated it. It clumps, flakes, and runs at the smallest sign of moisture. Awful stuff.

Not a new product but a cool use for an old kitchen gadget .... The other day on facebook, I saw a post about using a shredder to shred cold butter over food. OMG, why didn't think of that!?
I was making salmon and I use Paul Prudhomme's Salmon Magic and butter. Then cook it in a panm oven or grill. This time, I just seasoned it and then shredded the cold butter over the salmon! Sooooooo easy! Mmmmmmmm!

If you like to do any sort of craft painting, try out this Metallic Pearl White color paint from FolkArt. I applied it over regular craft paint on a couple small Easter projects yesterday. It toned down the colors and added a smooth, very pearly and pretty finish. I am trying out a new line of skin care - Mega-Mushroom by Origins. Here's a link. So far, I like it but it hasn't been any miracle cure. I have only been using it consistently for a week so I may yet be surprised. It does have a weird mushroomy smell straight out of the jar, but that dissipates very quickly. The line is supposed to be good for red and sensitive skin which are my two issues. I'm always looking for the perfect solution. |

I like the Always Infinity pads too, and prefer the ones without wings. Target usually has them. I would prefer not to use pads at all, but tampons just don't work for me any more (and the Diva Cup was just never an option when I have to take care of things in a shared school bathroom).
My favorite recent find is Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo. It's $5 and works better than the much more expensive one I was buying from the salon. I also like the Naked Volumizing Shampoo, which truly does give my fine hair more volume, and the blowout creme for days I use the blow dryer. A great, inexpensive product line IMO.
Plus-size ladies, maybe you all knew this already, but Cacique has changed the cut of their briefs to hit a little below the waist line. If you like more coverage, like me, but don't want the granny panties that come up over your belly button, these are great. They have a wider waist band that I like, too. I had been wearing their hipster style panties for years, but it seems like the last few batches I bought were skimpier, and I didn't like them as well. These briefs are much better. They don't say they're mid-rise or anything, but they really are.

Thanks ladies...I'm making a list of new needs! conchita Did you use cotton pads to remove your makeup with the Micellar water? Do you need to rinse afterwards? I've been loving my Old Navy High-Rise Go-Dry Compression crops for working out. They are so comfy, hold everything in place and don't ride up or down. |

My recommendations are as follows: the Benefit tinted lash primer. Comes in Mink Brown (I am fair haired, so I prefer brown mascaras for everyday). When you take the wand out, you'll go "Hey! Did this primer melt?!" because it's very liquidy for a mascara, but it goes on wonderfully. Very smooth. I just wear it as-is, no other mascara over it. Clinique's naturally glossy mascara. Comes in jet black and jet brown. I forget what sample du jour I was using last vacation that kept smearing. I want to say it was the regular benefit mascara. Anyhow, it was driving me NUTS so I popped on into a Sephora and picked up good ol' reliable naturally glossy. It's a relative bargain at $16.50. I like to pick it up at GWP time. And Tarte's Gifted amazonian clay mascara. Comes in black. Vegan friendly if you're looking for that. It just seems to go on well, wear well, and come off well. If you don't want to go straight to full sizes, you can probably find samples of the benefit and tarte on eBay, if you're into that. On your micellar water: did you get the Garnier with the pink or blue lid... and does it smell like anything? |

I like a more natural look, so don't wear it thick. I think I'll also buy a tube in brown to try out. I bought the Garnier Micellar Water with the pink lid. It has no oil, alcohol or fragrance in it. Doesn't need to be rinsed off either. It really is just water that works very well at removing makeup and leaving my skin feeling refreshed and lightly moisturized. Not a lotiony moisture, though. Like an aloe vera gel but no stickiness or weight to it. |
