Everyday is different because our schedules are never the same, but I have to say that I do NOT like being pounced upon the second I walk in the door. It's too chaotic and too noisy. I walk in and I want down time. I don't want to be harrassed by anyone... particularly the dog. Being greeted like that by the dog just makes me cranky because it pushes into my personal space and time. I grew up in a household that had "mandatory" quiet time when the parents came home... for 30 minutes to half an hour after coming home, they were not to be disturbed unless the house was on fire or someone was on death's door. And quite frankly, I like that. I don't like being pounced on and it drives me crazy that the dog doesn't get that (he's a dog, I know he doesn't get it and just wants to see one of his humans). It drives me crazy that my friend lets his kids do the same kind of thing because I just think it's disrespectful to practically assault someone the moment they walk through the door. Greet them calmly yes, jump on them no.

I guess I haven't thought much about it till you posed this question. It has definitely changed over the years...
Now, DH gets home before I do. He feeds the dog when he gets in and puts a movie on for DS and then he usually takes a nap! I stop at the grocery store on the way home, come in and start cooking. Older DS usually comes over to eat with us, or we go to his house to eat (we are lucky we spend so much time with him).
We play cards or watch t.v. and then off to bed (I am so not a night owl now.LOL)

Right now my SO is without a job. So when I come home, usually with some groceries he's asked me to pick up on the way home, he's making dinner. I put down my purse, greet him with a kiss and go upstairs to fold and put away the laundry. I make sure the beds are made and take a new load of laundry with me downstairs to the washing machine. I put it in, drop down on the sofa. We chat, have dinner and afterwards watch tv. Sometimes we go out for a walk.
When he has a job, I'm usually the first to arrive home. I put the groceries away, do the dishes, manage the laundry and sometimes start dinner. He is the cook in our house so that's why. He comes home, says hi with a kiss and start cooking.
It's kinda boring, but it's good boring if you know what I mean.
