I've called them every name in the book today. Their so-called "seamless" transition from Verizon has been anything but. Our office servers were down all day. 100s of small business customers have been without service. They're telling people that service may not be restored until the 6th. We can't get any information out to our clients, and it's 14 days before tax filing!!!!!! Someone from building maintenance came in and said the whole complex was down. That means about 50 offices, including several state agencies and the local IRS office themselves had issues. In the meantime, at home, On-Demand is gone. Our Fios app on our phone is gone, you now have to download the Frontier app. But you can't log into their app, because the user name and password don't work. And calling just leads to some guy in India saying they can't do anything until Monday. I just happen to be out of town this weekend, but can't access anything on my DVR. And to add insult to injury, apparently, they don't have an app for Kindle. They just say "Frontier is working to support Kindle devices." Guess what I usually watch late at night when I can't sleep (so as not to disturb DH.) I've heard from other people that their DVRs aren't recording. Another friend is telling me they took channels away. And it looks like they are hiking up rates. Talk about screwing over your customers. Ugh, I'm sorry. We had Verizon FiOS several years ago and then they sold in our area to Frontier. It was terrible. We had so many outages, dramatically slower internet speeds, lost channels, increased rates, etc. We dumped them as quickly as we could and went to Comcast, which is a totally different kind of shitshow.

I hear you! I hope they get it all straightened out soon. I've been so happy with FIOS. Why did they have to screw it up? We have other options, but they're all going to be worse than Verizon. Dang.

That sounds totally sucky. Our Verizon switched over to Frontier many years ago. I use them for my business line and internet (I work from home). The only issue I had was some problems initially with their web page when they first converted. They have been uneventful since. Hopefully they rectify things with your service quickly.

Our landline was with Verizon for a very long time, Frontier took over a month ago and the monthly charge has jumped from $68 to $90~!

Crazy. Here is something that will make it better-you probably missed the UF/FSU merger that was announced yesterday. You have GOT to google it. They are going to move the combined campus to Perry. Watch the videos, read the articles. You will thank me later.

Frontier. Ugh. You have my deepest sympathy having to deal with that company.
Frontier was nothing but a rural telephone company when it started taking over territories from Verizon. Most of what they took over was former GTE service areas. They were and still are ill prepared to take over large cities and areas and are so far out of their depth it's not even funny.
I won't even go into the total aggravation that we had trying to get them to replace our crappy DVR boxes. Let's just say it was a battle and it took weeks.
Not a Frontier fan.

As a former GTE employee (early retired out)...this makes me mad. I miss what my company once was. I kept FIOS etc because of my retiree discount, but now I'm about to dump FIOS for Direct TV, they're doing the switch here and I'm done. I LOVED FIOS. I'm not sticking around to hassle Frontier.

I am sorry. we had to deal with Frontier when mil was in the nursing home and they provided phone service for her. they were horrid to deal with and any change or question took far longer to deal with than it should have. their customer service was awful and I can't imagine how they handle anything more complicated than a phone. I feel for you!

:::knocking on wood::: We're in a state doing the switch to Frontier, and so far, we haven't had any issues. I did hear that the city next to us had problems with the city website being down for about 3 hours. But so far, so good. But I haven't tried to switch over account access yet.

We had DirecTV and we had switched for two reasons. One was that they didn't have all the local HD channels, but more importantly, they didn't have the capability to be able to access your DVR from any device. (They do have the "Genie", but it was cost prohibitive. I want to say another $30 or $50 a month.) That may have changed since then though. One of my best girlfriends is still holding on with them, and hasn't been RIF'd yet. Each time they come through, she thinks this is the one, but they still keep her on. She is so disgusted by the whole thing, she's ready to go. Her husband retired about a year ago, but he was in the lineman group (and a union EE).

I have Brighthouse (internet/phone/cable) which I know people take issue with, but I rarely have trouble with them but I sure have heard an earful from friends. I had a friend who was here at my house yesterday working using my wifi because theirs was down at her office.

They are the WORST. We had ATT U-Verse and loved it. Freaking Frontier bought it and it went down the tubes. We actually switched to the devil itself, Comcast, and it's been fine (knock wood.)

As I mentioned above, I'm out of town usually about one weekend a month, and I use it at work. To add insult to injury, with one of my other passions... the Figure Skating World Championships were this weekend. I had them recorded, but of course, had no way to access them. I figured I could at least watch part of it live on NBCSports.com. They kicked me out saying I was no longer a Verizon customer. And when I finally go logged in under Frontier, they told me I was not authorized to watch their content. Luckily, I found an "underground" way to watch via a Russian website. And who doesn't have a Kindle app in 2016??? I'm afraid what kind of fresh hell I'm going to walk into tomorrow, beings that I can't communicate with any of my clients. I texted a few times with our comptroller, she's besides her self. One of our big bosses is back on Monday, he was at an IRS conference on Friday. He's going to be fuming.

You have my sympathies. We voluntarily switched to Frontier DSL/DirectTV a few years ago. They were offering a $400 Apple Gift Card w/ new 2 year contracts......totally not worth the $400. We had no issue with DTV, but the internet was downright awful. Ended up switching back to Time Warner (rural area, options are really limited), don't love them either but they're not quite as bad as Frontier.

We had them when we first moved to this house in '99, but had a horrible time getting a good picture. The tech who came out said they installed underground lines that were "dirty." (We were a new subdivision at the time.) We used them for a while for internet (the old RoadRunner days), until Verizon offered us a phone/internet package. Then DirecTV kept jacking up rates, giving us less, and not keeping up with the current technology (in my opinion), and we switched over. It was probably a month after we signed on that they announced the Frontier deal. We got screwed.

I know they are here in Central Florida, and then in some other areas of the south but there are a few other random areas in the north and California (I think.) Like I said, I have read a few complaints on line, but over all I haven't heard too many in person and my experience is overwhelmingly positive. When I have had technical issues, they are have been really good about coming out and fixing it quickly.

Every once in a while I run into one of their technicians that is more or less talking out their ass but usually a call for a second opinion solves the problem. Honestly, I have only had to have someone come to the house twice in probably the last five years-once when I had the wifi installed and once when I changed services and had to get a new cable box.

Everyone has come to rely on it heavily. It's a real productivity and service problem when our internet service is glitchy. Gahhh, as if I don't have enough going on, I may need to find another internet provider at work! I'm in the process of setting up Quickbooks online. There are times I feel like just going back to old-fashioned journals and order logs.
