Do you use one? I use dobie pads for any hand washing-they're like a sponge with a plastic outer scrubby layer. I have several so I can swap them out often, and I throw them in the wash on a bleach load along with the rest of the kitchen towels/potholders. I've never used a regular sponge in the kitchen though. Every so often I might use one of those mini brillo pads for tough sink stains but I throw them out each time.

No, I use dish cloths. New one every time I do dishes. To clean the sink, we use the "work" towels (AKA old dish cloths!).

Yes, I use one. I have Fiesta and that cleans off super easy with just running water but for my pots/pans, braiser, dutch oven, and cookie sheets I need to use a sponge. Dish towels do not get cooked on food off like a sponge does.
Dont have any smelly or slimey sponges. Eh to each their own

I have a weird aversion to almost anything related to the kitchen sink. I know, I'm weird. So, for me, sponges are gross, and I do not buy them for the kitchen. I have purchased some for kid activities, though.

Love the sponges that come with a non stick scratchy layer. They go in the dishwasher.

I have bad memories of smelly dishcloths from my youth, so have never really used them. I used sponges for a long time until I learned about their germ-holding properties. Now I those disposable, fiber cloth thingys that really last longer than they're supposed to. I just toss it in the dishwasher each night until it gets raggedy then toss and use a new one. I use the green scrubby things for baked on stuff... and toss them in the dishwasher too.

Nope. No. No way. Bad memories of slightly smelly and slimy one from growing up. We use handled scrubbers and run the, through the dishwasher every time.

I've said it on here before but I buy the dozen washcloths for about three dollars at WalMart. They come in neat colors and are the size I like to use. I can go through many cloths in a day. I get a new one for every use. I toss them all in the washer every three days and run a small hot load. Everyone in my family knows to get a clean cloth everytime they wash dishes or wipe down a counter. Sponges are gross.

Love the sponges that come with a non stick scratchy layer. They go in the dishwasher. I put mine in the dishwasher too. Some stuff will not come off with a dish cloth no matter how hard you scrub or how long you soak. I even use Magic Erasers on some stuff.

Of course I use a sponge. Those safety scrubby ones. I've done it all my life and I'M STILL ALIVE.
I'm cracking up about all these things that all of a sudden are no longer safe.

I use two-sided-sponges. When finished, I rinse with water, put on a few drops antibacterial soap and microwave for 30 seconds. I never use the sponge to get rid of food stuck on the pan. I gently scratch off with a utensil. This way the sponge doesn't get cheese, pasta, etc stuck in it. I used to wash mine in the dishwasher, but the full of water sponge creeps me out. I replace a sponge once a month. I clean my sink with white rags, once the towel is used cleaning the sink, it is no longer used. I have over three dozen rags that I use and they all get washed in bleach once week. I can easily go through four towels after each meal.

Yes, yellow for dishes and a blue one for counters and sink.

I use a scathy pad to get stuck on food off, but I do not was with a sponge. I use a dishcloth when hand washing or wiping down counters.
I do use a sponge to clean the sink with comet. The sponge gets cooked in the microwave before and after use and it is only used for the sink

We use scotch bright sponges. Dh tosses them after so many uses so they never get gross. They dry in the rack, never on the counter. Never use them for the counters. I suggested cloths and he said he hated the cloths his mom and grandma always used. They were gross and falling apart.
He tosses them after a couple weeks or so.
The cheap stuff is only good for camping or big clean ups where you toss it at the end.

I use Chux cloths which are thin and dry quickly. I change them every few days. I use a brush rather than a cloth for the dishes.

I like the scotch brite green scrubbers for dishes and counters. They dry on a rack and are thrown away before they get nasty. I've never had one smell. I have a glass top stove and have a special non-scratch scrubber for that.

Every time I do dishes I run the sponge/scrubby through the dishwasher, then take it out and nuke it for 4 minutes. No germs, no smell. No gross.

We mostly use a brush. When wiping off counters and stove, we use the wetest towel then hang it on the oven door to dry before putting it in the dirty clothes. Occasionaly I will use dishcloths and as soon as I finish with it, it is hung on the oven door to dry. No stinky dishcloths for me. Hubby does most of the kitchen clean up nowdays so it is him who decides all that.

I use dish cloths. I put out a fresh one every morning. I use a dobie scrubber for pots and pans that need extra scrubbing and I replace it often.

I use sponges. I follow the practices of several here: one color for counters and another for dishes, nuke them, run thru the dishwasher and replace them about every 4 weeks. I try not to over think the ick factor. I encounter millions of grody things each day and I'm ok.
