I'm another who has a goal of just getting started again! I don't need to be caught up- I don't expect that to ever happen. But I need to create for me. The boys and I started and finished a "crafty" project this week, and I love how it turned out. They loved being a part of it, so I might have to figure out how to scrap *with them* in order to get to anything. Here's our art: That hanging is REALLY cool! And even if it hadn't turned out so great, it represents time well spent together! I like linda 's idea, but not sure it would work with more than one kid. i never baked with my own kids until they were older, but one of my dil's got me baking with their little ones, and now I do it with all of them. Helps to focus on the experience rather than the product!

It was fun! My boys are 9, 6, and 4 months. I do mostly Project Life type scrapbooking, so I'm hoping they can actually help with some of it, if I can loosen the reins a bit.

cyndijane, love the art. I always had a box of things and glue sticks for my kids to craft at the same time when they were toddlers and older. As toddlers everything was pre-cut. However, I found I usually didn't get a lot of time as they wanted help with this or that. I was frustrated at first, but then was like, if they get into the hobby or other crafty hobbies it's a good thing. Encourage them, I kept telling myself. As they aged, DS became less interested and would play or read. DD, 10, now has her own supplies and uses my stuff freely.

grammadee , linda , and 950nancy , thank you ladies for your kind posts! I ventured over to this board for the first time in a couple months and it just left me feeling so bummed. And how could I have missed out on TYS! What a cool idea. I mustered up some energy and gave myself 30 minutes to do something in my craft room last night, anything. I started a layout! I got paper down, the picture, and the title. I'm hoping maybe tonight I can get the journaling and embellies done. I couldn't have done it without your compassion. <3 It's a hobby and sometimes you just have to walk away. I haven't touched a page in two weeks since I finished my travel books. Today I went looking for a Cricut cartridge that I loaned to a friend but I could only find the overlay and handbook on my table where I left them two months ago. After three plus hours of searching and cleaning and reorganizing my punches I decided to look in the case it should have been in. It was right where it should have been. Honestly. Why would I only put part of it away? So anyway, my room is clean and organized and I am ready to get back in there and finish my Universal book. I hate a messy room.

I stepped away from scrapbooking almost all together for a few years while I taught cardmaking and coloring and such. I'm very excited to be back to scrapping. I've done more pages this year than I did in 6years. My goal is to do at least 2 layouts a week. For me with my full time job it's doable most weeks. I was thinking of attending a weekend retreat all by myself so I could get a lot more done without distractions.

I suppose my goal is to schedule time to scrap. If I don't I end up giving all my time to my family and friends. I've had an unplanned 3 weeks off from work (employer family emergency) and have not scrapped at all during that time. I did do some photo editing and order pictures which just arrived a few days ago so I'm not sure what else I could have done. If I'm not back to work on Monday I'll scrap. I could use some quiet me time.

I want to COMPLETE all of the many albums I have started! Most of these are specific vacation albums and a lot of them only have a few things left to do to consider them finished.... like a title page or finishing some journaling, etc. I would love to know that ALL of the albums in the bookshelf are finished!

That's actually my focus this summer - keeping up with current photos (thanks to the May challenge - 2016 is caught up through the end of May) but also going back and finishing up albums that are started. Unfortunately many of mine need more than just a couple of finishing touches
