Happy Wednesday! Hey this is my birthday week! It is on Sunday, the 29th. Yippee! Every year, I look forward to receiving and using the free meal coupons to different restaurants. If you register with some restaurants they send you a free meal for your birthday and even wedding anniversary. Some of the ones I got are from IHOP, Rubio's, El Toritos, Red Robin, and a few others. I think I am gonna gain a few pounds and that's ok with me!  Oh boy was I behind on leaving praise in the gallery. I just finished seeing lots of your creations and they were so good. We have such a talented group here. I made a couple of cards and I want to scrap this week. I ordered some pics and most of them are sort of foggy. I used my camera phone and maybe that had something to do with it??? Don't know! Cindy and Nylene, I need to use one of your tech savy kids to help me too. LOL! So I'll figure it out. Some of the pictures are fine and others aren't. I think the lighting had something to do with it. I am still practicing guitar and it is getting a little easier. It is just tough having both hands doing different things at the same time. But I am just glad it is getting better. The class is on Thursday and I wonder what we will be learning then? Cindy- Oh I hope your eye continues to get better. That is a really bummer! Hang in there and take it easy. Lisa- Wow, things sound like they are really coming along at your house. I know you all will be so glad when everything is done. Maribeth- So happy you had a fantastic trip. Any more trips planned for this summer? Nylene- Isn't your birthday this month? When I read about your dgd's I thought of you too. I hope Angie find a nice new place. I can't wait till we can move to a larger place too mostly so I can have a craftroom and a garden. LOL! |

Good Thursday morning!
Today I am on my way to Calgary for the weekend. I am excited because two ds's live in that area with their families, so will be seeing 2 ds's with spouses, plus 7 grandkids over the next 4 days.
Lots of time with kids and grandkids until Monday morning. Included in activities will be swim class for a couple of the little ones, plus a swim meet for the 10 year old, a soccer game for the 4 year old, and a baseball tourney for my oldest grandson. I have my camera battery charged, and I am ready for whatever happens!
I need to get off the computer and start getting ready!!!

Just a quick note-I got my new glasses and they seem to be helping! I can even read on here without too much trouble! Hurray! The floater is still there but does not seem to completely knock out the letters! Ok gotta run-BBL!

Hurray that the glasses are helping, scrapincin! Your layout is so super cute. I'll leave love right after this. Amazing how quick Bobby and kids pick things up! I hope you share pics of him with his shirts. grammadee, have fun. Sounds like a super time!!! kellyr21, glad guitar is getting easier. I think people who are born in May don't get just their day, they get the whole month!  Do you have special plans for the weekend? nylene, I remember that you always have such fun things planned for Cousin Camp. Do you already have it planned out? I'm slowly working on some swap ATCs which need to be in the mail by Saturday. I am being sidetracked by family duties and chores. I did decide to put the pacer app back on my phone the other day: 15000 steps on Tuesday and 19700 on Wednesday. I was push mowing. Today, I just want to get to 10000. I'll have to walk on the treadmill. We're going to see family at the end of June so I have to "STEP" up the weight loss commitment. ha. OK, off to get some more done. |

Happy Friday! Sending you all a big sunny wave from Cali. I am feeling a little sluggish today but hope to enjoy it. I went to my guitar class last night and oh boy was it challenging. So I got some practice to do. Overall I am having fun. Just learning something totally new is hard. We have two more classes to go so I wonder what I will have learned by then? We shall see. LOL! I have some cards to make. I sold another card this week and have another to make for this week. Yippee! It makes me feel so good when I make the cards and extra good when the customers love them too. Such a wonderful circle of joy. I will share some pics soon. Cindy- Awesome!!!! So happy your new glasses are helping you. I know that is a big relief! Lisa- Besides eating my way through So Cal with my free meals (LOL), I hope to go to this really cute, vintage downtown in one of the local cities. It is like stepping back into the 50's. They have lots of shops and eateries. I remember once I ate at this house that was turned into a restaurant. So cool and the food was yummy. So I want to go there and maybe try one of the local botanical gardens. These are some ideas so far. You go girl on your walking! That is great you are getting your walk on. Me too! I have been doing more walking and my goal was to make it up the street to the little food court they have and I finally made that long walk! So I hope to keep it up and see how far I can go. Grammadee- Oh I hope you have a lovely time with your family. |

kellyr21, our birthdays are exactly 2 weeks apart. I'll have to try to remember that next year. I'm terrible about remembering birthdays. I have to remind myself often in order to not miss our grandchildren's b-days. LOL! It sounds like you are going to have some fun eats and fun jaunts. I wish we had something like that around here. They do in SLC, but we hardly ever get up there. So, if I don't get back on before Sunday, please have a very happy birthday on Sunday. Be sure to check out the birthday thread on the NSBR board. @mytnice picks the most beautiful cakes to honor the Refupeas! BTW, can't wait to see photos of your cards. LisaDV, congrats on the win at Scrapbook.com. I won one in the pre-NSD contest and also got $5 off for my b-day. So since I could only use one code at a time, I had to make 2 orders! LOL! So hard to find enough cool stuff for 2 orders. I could hardly wait til they arrived! So I have some new stuff. scrapincin, I am so glad that new glasses are helping. I am very happy for you. Hope you can be back to normal life again. Will you be tending the kids this summer? grammadee, I hope you are having a great time in Calgary. Playing with grandchildren is the best! maribeth, I am missing you and your bright spirit and happy quotes. I hope you are just catching up after being gone for a week. Keep in touch! Angie and DH put in an offer on a home, but they didn't get it. We were all really hoping. They still plan to come early in June if possible. I am already making plans for Cousin Camp. If things don't work for June I think they will be here in August. Seems so long since we saw them. I need to run. I'll try to hop back on before weekend is over. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Thanks everyone! I am having a nice day. Today was church and then (free) breakfast at Denny's. Yesterday, we did go to the little vintage town. It was so fun walking around and seeing so many antique and vintage shops. In the center of town was a traffic circle and a brunch of trees and a water feature. While we were sitting we saw lots of love. There was an engaged couple having professional pics taken. At the same time, there was a bride, groom and bridal party taking lots of pics too. The bride looked so beautiful in her cream colored simmering gown. After that, we went to a M's over there. A few weeks ago, I called around to different M's to see if they had these flowers I wanted. They were all out. So I gave up. But yesterday, I was so happily surprised to find they had some. Yippee! So that was a fun highlight of the excursion. Again, thanks for all the well wishes and I hope to continue enjoying my day. Have a good evening and memorial day y'all! |

Well I am home, safe and sound, and thinking very longingly of my own bed. Had an action packed 4 days with the kids, and got lots of fun photos. Printed them today on my way home, so when I get caught up on my sleep, the dishes dh used all weekend, and the garden, I will be all ready to roll! I love that each of the grandkids spent a little one-on-one time with me, and that they are still interested in having me take their photos and to see the photos in my albums. It was the almost 17 year old and the 13 year old boys who asked about the scrapbooks the first evening, and then lugged them into the house and went through them first (I had brought Fall, Winter, and Christmas, plus the one I had started for Spring). They were competing about who had the most photos, moaning if they didn't think I had included enough. Then during the weekend they were making sure Gramma "got that" photographed! nylene , I would love to hear all about cousin camp. Would love to host something like that! scrapincin , I hope the eye continues to improve with your glasses. Sounds like you had a tasty birth week, kellyr21 ! Well, my dear Pokey Peas, it seems the month has come to an end. I have a busy day today but will be back tonight to post a new thread.
Thanks to all of you and the wonderful projects you have completed this month. It seems like we weren't so Pokey this month, but I'm sure we each have months that we are still Pokey Peas.
