I don't think I can take six months of this yahoo being front-page news on a daily basis.

Our English Peas...what is everyone thinking across the pond? I personally think he's a joke. I read something the other day that likened his hair to a dying hamster on top of a tangerine, that made me chuckle.

He's really pissing me off and that's saying something. I'm pretty easy going and take all political talking heads with a grain of salt. I'm also a very conservative republican and left with no options I can believe in.
Just the fact that he keeps saying he's no idiot confirms that he must be one. Otherwise his background would prove that fact for him without him having to tell everyone CONSTANTLY.

It's sad that this buffoon is now a legitimate nominee for President. And I totally get that the right feels the same way about Hillary, so there's no need for everyone to remind me of it. I just think there's a lesser evil in this race. A waaaaaaay lesser evil.

You know those tin-foil hat predictions about Obama taking over for a 3rd term? Anyone else thinking that might not be so bad at this point?

I think he is a dangerous deluded orange twat. He won't be welcome in the UK and his attitude will undo years of the special relationship that the UK and the US have enjoyed.

He is taking isolationism too far.
At some point soon he, as the presumptive nominee, will start receiving actual, real live, real world application security briefings. At that point, I would hope he will start seeing the impact of his words outside of his rallies. He is believing his own press and isn't listening to anyone that says insulting the rest of the world is going to lead us down a violent path.
(And frankly, as the parent of some one in the military ((albeit the National Guard)) I worry that if he is in a position of authority his insults to our friends-much less enemies-will lead us toward military action faster than he ever could think possible. It is a small world and we are all interconnected in some way and he has lost the plot on how the connections lead to a modicum of stability in the world.)

His remark was in reply to this comment:
What's wrong with his response? I swear people in the media and even on this board want to make every little comment an international incident. It's only going to be a long and painful six months if we keep getting worked up over trivial sh!t like this.

It was all around his comments about the new Muslim London Mayor. He offered exemption to Mr Khan on his travel ban, Mr Khan swiftly told him to stuff it basically and he was responding to that. I guess Cameron said something in support of Mr Khan.

It wasn't bad enough that he sued the entire country of Scotland over wind turbines being too close to his golf course...

NBC NewsHe is not even president yet, and has decided to alienate one of our biggest allies! Donald Trump made remarks on Good Morning Britain saying "it looks like we are not going to have a good relationship" if he is elected president. I am not sure what to think. Our English Peas...what is everyone thinking across the pond?I would guess that most of us couldn't care a sh** what Trump thinks of any of us. I'm sure David Cameron isn't going to lose any sleep about what Mr Trump thinks of him either. I really don't understand why our TV is giving him the time of day by interviewing him to be honest.

It wasn't bad enough that he sued the entire country of Scotland over wind turbines being too close to his golf course... And when he was originally called before the Scottish Parliament to discuss the matter before it went to court this is what he said to a committee of SMP "No facts you just take my word for it ,I'm the expert" The man's a lunatic.

"No facts you just take my word for it ,I'm the expert" The man's a lunatic. If I think about the possibilities for too long, I get really scared, so I try not to think about it (and I don't normally open political threads).

I think he is a dangerous deluded orange twat. He won't be welcome in the UK and his attitude will undo years of the special relationship that the UK and the US have enjoyed. Twat is the perfect word for him. Now in the interest of balance, I'm not much of a fan of David Cameron, and sometimes think he's a a bit of a twat too. I don't think his remarks were particularly well worded - divisive was fine, I'd have probably replaced "stupid and wrong" with "uninformed and ill-advised" but I fully agree with the sentiment. I overheard something...that maybe it was in response to something Mr Cameron said? I'll have to go away and look for more info..... Was it this? BBCFrom that article... Really, Donald, really? No-one wanted to talk about how to keep the US safe from extremist Muslim terrorists until you came along? Okey-dokey then. I can't get too riled up about it, because how do you begin to take him seriously?

If I think about the possibilities for too long, I get really scared, so I try not to think about it (and I don't normally open political threads). I'm going on the fact that there's enough other sane head of states out there that will control him......well at least I'm hoping because the alternative doesn't bear thinking about. It's the American people I feel sorry for, they deserve better than him.

I am not sure what to think. Our English Peas...what is everyone thinking across the pond? I feel Trump is an egotistical tw*t who's taking the p*ss out of your political system. I feel embarrassed for your country and your people. Mostly I feel scared at what could lie ahead in terms of world peace (or not) if he becomes president.

I have no doubt that somewhere, someone is already plotting military action against us, pinching themselves because they can't believe their good fortune.
If we all survive it, in 50 years the history textbooks are all going to say "And WWIII was started by a cheeto".

This is the most entertaining (and frustrating) political cycle I've ever seen. Thanks - after reading your comment I put this circus into perspective. I got really depressed about the election after I saw "Judgement at Nuremburg" on TCM this past weekend. I kept mentally substituting "Trump" for "Hitler" as I watched. You know, with all the outright hair-pullers and controversy that we sometimes have here, it's pretty remarkable so many of us agree on this one issue.

And EVEN WORSE (as one would think it couldn't get worse) is that now republican's are now trying to work with it because of the sole reason of the Supreme Court appointments. They are getting behind the notion that they can brace the next 4 years of The Donald if it means that the Republican Party appoints the next judges.
I would not be surprised if he wins, makes the appointments and then something unfortunate happens to him---the Republican Party is getting scary as to what they will do to impede, block, and control.
