Her name is Noel Elannah Remotigue and I am wondering if she didn't just abandon the account as she doesn't show activity past the year 2012 which was 4 years ago??? All I want is the account closed. I am not her. We know what I look like and I definitely have NOT been to the Philippines and I have no plans to ever visit.
This is the security check they want me to perform
Please Confirm Your Identity Recent activity may have affected your account's security, so we've locked it. We'll walk you through a few steps to confirm your identity and help you access your account. Learn More. 1 Choose a security check 2 Do a security check
Choose a Security Check How do you want to confirm your identity? Upload a photo ID Identify photos of friends
and this is the 3rd screen To make sure this is your account, we need you to upload a color photo of your government-issued ID. Your ID should include your name, birthday and photo. Acceptable IDs include your:
Passport Driver's license State-issued ID card Military ID card Immigration ID with signature
Please keep in mind that we can't accept your profile picture. Once we receive and review a clear image of your ID, we will permanently delete your attached identification document from our servers.
This is what I mean it's crazy. ----------------------------
I have an old email address I don't use very often but I logged in to today. That is fine but someone has used my email address for their Facebook profile. I do not want this. My email is very obvious and very easy to remember.
I know the user's name is Noel. I get messages for her from time to time. I have tried to contact her. I have tried to delete the Facebook profile as it is tied to me. It is not the email address I use for anything now other than Joann shopping really. I have lots of old messages I save just because I want them.
I contacted Facebook because this is annoying. She shouldn't have used my email to sign up for it.
I don't know her last name. I am pretty sure she is Filipino and I base that on seeing lots of her friends' names as well as her photo (my SIL is Filipino).
Can I get her to change her email address?

Couldn't you do a lost password on the fb account. That should send an email to your email account then go in and change the fb one and delete the fb account.

Me too. How'd she even start the FB account? I don't remember but assume they send you an email confirmation before signing up?

It just amazes me that people hack into other's Facebook accounts. I discovered that a friend was using MY Facebook account, with my email addy and password. And then she denied doing it. I got it straightened out but no longer consider the person a 'friend'.

I changed the password and hope that took care of it. Facebook wants me to identify all these people to make sure I am Noel. I don't know who any of her friends are. I barely can tell if they are female or male part of the time. Anyway, I have been through this several times and I will keep changing the password until she deletes the account because I own the email.

I don't know how she got around getting the confirmation. I didn't confirm it! The email address is mine though. I mean it is elannah@ something.com and I am in the account right now reading old emails and deleting junk. (I have tons from old Peas and there are lots of us still missing!!)

Instead of answering questions about photos (I couldn't identify photos from my own friends!) set it to send a text to YOUR phone or some other security measure.

It won't let me get that far, voltagain. That's the problem. It is making me answer security questions that I don't know the answers to. They asked me to identify her friends and I don't know who they are...that's the problem. If I knew who they were and they ask at least 5 different people with 6 answers each and 2 skipped questions, I would have deleted the profile already!

You've already changed the password multiple times but she still gets in? How? Without a password recovery email, how can she get back in? Or, since you've gone through this multiple times, post a status for her ~ this is MY email Noel is using, but Facebook won't let me delete. If someone can get it touch with her, please let her know to fix this.

It's interesting that her middle name is the same as your first name - and spelled the same way.
Does your email have your first and last name?

To change the password on what exactly? Facebook wants you to prove who you are, in that you are the owner of the facebook page. But, you aren't the owner of the facebook page. You are the owner of the email account she is using. I'm not understanding why you can't get it to send a confirmation email to your email account so you can change the password on the facebook account. But, at least every time you get a notification, click on it in your email. It will take you to where her name is tagged and make a space to comment. Leave a message that Nicole has hacked my email account. Or some profanity, nude photos.. whatever is attention getting. Nude photos would get her facebook closed. Or gross photos.. nudes might be illegal.

This happened to my daughter a few years ago, barely remember the details but someone, somehow used her email for a FB account. My daughter was lucky enough to change her password and basically block the person out. I sure don't remember how it worked but I remember we were amazed that the young woman was able to set up an account.
My son gets reward points on a store account and someone else's email is linked to his phone number and he keeps being awarded her points which can be used to buy things. this has been going on for years and our best guess is that she didn't sign up herself, has no clue and the store did it to get credit. He has reported it but thye never fix it.

I will just keep changing the password so she has no access, but the stupid emails I get from her account like the 300 people she friended either want to confirm or something. I don't know. I had oodles of emails in my inbox from Facebook. She won't have access to it any longer if I keep changing my password.

Something is fishy....I have had to change my password several times and never once did it ask me to identify anyone from my friends list. And never have I had to upload my ID with address. Why would they need that?
I have had Facebook send a text to my phone number (on file) and they send a number that you type in to access your account.

I've had to identify photos from my friends list when I tried to sign in on a isp that I normally don't use. I normally sign in from Oklahoma but I was in Missouri. I think that is the big problem Elannah is having. This Nicole person set up the Facebook account. Nicole normally signs in from the Philippines it looks like. It is going to have Nicoles phone number so any texts for password reset may go to Nicole's phone number. The Facebook account won't have Elannah's phone number. Hopefully, Nicole did not set up for a phone notification and only set up for email notifications so password reset will go to email. Elannah's only recourse my be to respond to each and every email she gets so Nicole will start investigating her email set up.

I just saw where you say it doesn't look like there is any activity since 2012. In that case, I wouldn't worry about it. My guess is she figured it out then and abandoned that Facebook account because she couldn't access your email.
She can't access your email and you can't access her Facebook. It is a stalemate. If someone is still tagging that account just open the email and leave a comment on facebook. They may need to take that account off of some friends list but you can't do it. They have to do it.

If you don't use the email for your own Facebook account, and I'm assuming you can't since someone else is using it, can't you just block all FB emails or have them sent to your junk/spam folder? It obviously doesn't solve the problem of someone else using your email, but it would get rid of the annoying notification emails. Just a thought!

I went to the page. Noel is a "he". Also, from what I can tell from public posts, nothing has been posted since 2012. But that doesn't mean it's been nothing since (since all I can see are public, not "friends" posts). It is strange for sure, but I am like the previous poster, just block the facebook emails. Then you won't have to deal with it anymore.

I don't understand why FB wants you to confirm your identity. You don't want to own that account. You just want your email address removed. Can't they just send you an email asking to confirm that you own the email address and want it removed from that person's account?

That security check seems bogus... I can't believe they'd want government issued ID. You didn't need that to sign up, I don't see how they can justify asking you for such personal information.

Have you tried to contact facebook through their contact form? www.facebook.com/help/contact/274459462613911Please select the option that best describes what you'd like to report and then use the link or information provided to find the best way to report it. By choosing the correct option, you'll help us review your report faster and more accurately. What best describes the issue you want to report? My account is hacked I want to report something that shouldn't be on Facebook (ex: photo, group, Page) I want to report a fake account Someone is pretending to be me Someone is pretending to be someone I know Someone is using my email address for their Facebook accountSomeone is using my photos or my child's photos without my permission Something on Facebook violates my rights I found an underage child on Facebook Someone is threatening to share things I want to keep private Bullying or harassment Other abuse (FYI, when you pick one of those options, some questions appear between the introductory paragraph and the list. It's a weird set up that they don't appear BELOW, but just so you know.)
