Good morning ladies! I hope your Monday was a good one!!
I'm still chugging along here. I did great yesterday staying away from as many processed foods as possible. The only thing I had was half a serving of pretzels. Today my goal is to stick to the whole foods as much as possible and to get in at least 60 oz of water. My water intake has really been sucking so I need to focus on that.
Today I have a little bit of food prep to do - make some egg patties for dh and ds, cut up some carrots for dh and dd. Other than that, maybe some laundry. But I'm taking today as a mostly down day, I think. It'll be a good day for it since it's supposed to rain most of the day today.
Tonight is the parent information night for the middle school - dd's will be in middle school next year. I cannot believe all 3 of my kids will be in middle school next year. Crazy.
I hope you ladies have a great day!! Keep up all the hard work - we can do this girls!!

I remember having 3 in middle school, brandy327. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Then by 8th grade we were homeschooling. At least you will have them all in one place. That hopefully will make it a bit easier for you. I ate on plan yesterday and plan on today. I have leftover taco soup for lunch (6 points) today if the kids don't grab it first. LOL! I have to hit the grocery after going to the eye doctor this morning. We barely have any food in the house after vacation. Need to fix that. Lunch yesterday was hard for all of us. Ooops! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Have a great day everyone!

I fell off the wagon hard yesterday. It was a crappy Monday and I ate way too much. Back on track today! I have a sick kiddo at home so it will be pretty low key around here. Hoping to get some meal prepping done because the rest of our week is crazy busy. No workouts for the next few days since I hurt myself somehow over the weekend and need to let it heal.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Workout for the day is done! C25K W2D3 is done so tomorrow I'll do W3D1. That workout will be a big challenge because it requires more than 90 seconds of running at a time. LOL ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/OrTI4SBmZ2ZYSFv6ag4f.jpg) It's pouring here and dark and I just want to go back to bed. I probably won't though but man do I want to.

You are rocking it brandy327. I know you can do the 90 seconds! It never ceases to amaze me how some days running can seem so effortless for me and others it is the hardest thing in the world. Our bodies are strangely amazing!

I planned to fast but I was driving and gave in to the urge to snack. I should know better by now that when I am on the road it is too hard to fast. Seems like the best day to do it but it's not. Will try again today. I've been taking the kids to school more often lately so they can sleep a little later. In some ways it will be nice when school is out, but in other ways it is a pain. We aren't done until June 6.

I'm back at an all-day conference today. Packed my lunch again, and brought a different water bottle with a straw that is easier for me to remember to drink out of. Brandy, I've been sucky on the water lately too. On breaks, I've been trying to get up and walk the halls to at least get some steps in.
Zumba tonight, Aquafit tomorrow night. I really prefer Aquafit over Zumba, but I couldn't make it last night with the conference. They offer it M/W 9 AM or 6 PM, Friday at 9 AM, and Saturday at 9 AM. Not the best times for someone who works full time and tries to have family dinner most nights (and my husband usually goes to Crossfit at 8 PM on M/W, so try not to have dinner after 7), but I do really enjoy it so I try to wedge it into my schedule as much as possible. I think I mentioned this the other day, I set a goal to do purposeful exercise 30 out of the next 45 days. It didn't sound like that much when I set the goal, but when I put the stickers on my calendar for the days, I was like "Oh crap, that is a ton of days!!" I don't have a lot of room to miss days given my travel schedule!

Good morning, I love having someone to feel accountable to. I got up and ran again this morning. I did a mile again and it felt better than yesterday.
Brandy-I did C25K a couple of years ago and 90 seconds was daunting! You can totally do it! I think that one was my biggest hurdle and once I knew I could do it I had so much more confidence.
We're working out of town and our airbnb doesn't have a kitchen but I've still been pretty good on eating....except I had a cookie last night. It was our last one so now I won't be tempted anymore. Tonight is dinner out and I'll hopefully find some sort of yummy salad.
Have a good day everyone!

I did well over that in 2013 and 2014, but in 2015 I really slacked due to some personal hells I was going through. So far in 2016 I have kept at it, but for May I am behind. End of school year events and kid things just make things challenging! :/

I climbed out of bed at 4:30 this morning and did my workout. I started a new program yesterday so I'm still flailing about a little trying to get a feel for what I'm supposed to be doing.
Yesterday I ate great until I got home for dinner and then went a little overboard for dinner AND snacks while watching TV. Today I'm going to do better.
I did about 4 days of C25K about 5 years ago. LOL I'm walking in a 5K in 2 weeks and kicking myself that I didn't start C25K in time to feel comfortable trying to run.

Good Morning Ladies! I think I did ok last night- went to Outback. I had Firecracker salmon with mango salsa and steamed veggies. I did have a beer and the mini strawberry parfait. It's been so long since I had dessert! On to the gym today and then to grocery store.

I took advantage of the cooler day today and baked some muffins for the kids and prepped the egg patties. Making the muffins got me thinking...and I have a question...
If you eat mostly whole foods and have kids, do you have your kids eat the same or do you not make them follow it?!
My girls, for the most part, eat whatever we're eating and have a LOT of healthy eating habits. DS it's more difficult because he has major texture issues with food and doesn't eat any veggies or fruits. He lives on meat and carbs. Don't get me wrong, he gets veggies at every dinner and has to eat at least a bite but he never asks for more and lets it be known he doesn't like it. But then I realized I also make stuff for them that's not healthy at all. My one dd has been asking me for a couple of weeks to make some double chocolate chip muffins. I don't like to make them because I think they're nothing more than a cupcake. But I don't make them very often AND she's getting braces on tomorrow so I need to have some soft foods for her to eat for the next several days.
I do also make regular chocolate chip muffins but I've found a recipe that doesn't make me feel as guilty for making them as it uses whole wheat flour and yogurt so I feel like they're not quite as bad. I don't eat either of them though. We freeze them individually and they're allowed 2 a week until they're gone. Since this double chocolate chip recipe only makes 18 or so, with 3 kids, they don't last long.
I forgot to mention it yesterday but at the Revs game on Saturday, I had my highest step count ever with close to 20,000 steps and was feeling really good about myself. When we were walking around Patriots Place with our friends, we stopped and they took a photo of the family for us. When I looked back at the photo, I was a little disappointed because I still looked super fat. *sigh* I've gotten into the habit of wearing a slimmer almost any time we go anywhere and I want to look decent...but it was supposed to be warm and knowing that we were going to be gone for 18 hours and those slimmers can be uncomfortable for extended periods of time, I opted not to wear it and wear a shirt that was loose and billowy. And I wore it with capri leggings. Yeah, probably not a good combo but I was still disappointed.
I know I'll get there but it just kind of took the wind out of my sails for a bit.

I am rather jealous of all you "summer vacation" people...enjoy your time off as you do deserve it (but I'm still jealous). DS gets out of school next Thursday - he is ready, I'm ready. Mornings are brutal right now. We found out yesterday he got his first summer job. He will be working 25 hrs a week at our Park and Rec Summer program as a helper. It's a 2 minute walk from our house so it's a perfect first job for him. He is excited and so am I because he won't be at home all summer. I have a board meeting tonight so no exercise for me. I brought my lunch/pre meeting snack so hopefully I won't go off the rails with my eating - that happens when I put in 11 hour days ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg)

My son is the worse eater ever! When I adopted him he was 2 1/2 and still bottle fed. We have been struggling with food issues his whole life. I have tried every possible approach to food and it's always a battle. For 3 years he only ate food that was tan - tortillas, bread, French fries...you get the idea.
He has gotten better but his range of acceptable food is pretty slim. He is also a grazer so getting him to sit down and eat a full meal is tough. We makes sure there are tons of healthy food options at the house and he eats as he wants.

Even if we'd always been a healthy size, there would be lots of photos we hate, even with no loose skin or weird dimples or whatever. Those things don't help, but there's always weird angles, bad lighting, wind messing with clothes, whatever. Your almost 20K steps is AMAZING!!! Not just the number, but the fact that you are able to do that kind of sustained activity. That is absolutely fabulous. Here's what I figure - you can control your fitness level, that you're able to do those kind of steps. You achieved that. Looking good in a photo isn't an achievement. Some of it is work (putting in effort into your clothes, hair, makeup, looks, etc), but some of it is just luck. I'd much rather let my behavior (the fitness, that you put in effort to look cute, etc) decide my mood and feelings than luck. I know you know all that, and it doesn't make it any less annoying to see a crappy photo of ourselves! But girl... you are so amazing. I hate seeing something like that drag you down, especially when you were on a high from something you actually worked to achieve. Some stupid camera lens take the high away in an instant is just a total bummer!!! Thanks for being so consistent with this thread, I sure appreciate it.

brandy327 I think you look great in that photo. I don't see what you're seeing, but I also know that I'm super critical of myself in photos so I get it. I think you look FANTASTIC and WOW! Those stairs are no joke! Good for you and YAY! for beating your lighter friend up them! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Now there's an NSV! Today we had lunch brought in from administration for all our work on the PARCC testing. I had some of the pasta and salad and two raisin cookies that I thought were chocolate chip. So disappointing, but I still ate the stupid things! Ugh! WTH did I do that? So not worth the calories, but I ate it all and tracked it the best I could. Ended up having a protein shake with a frozen banana and berries. DELISH and filled me right up. I'm having a bit of a temper tantrum right now 'cause I'd planned to walk after my insane afternoon (Speech appointment for my son, drop same son off to bating cages, race home to get my dd to ballet and pick up carpool girl on the way...) and I can't find my stupid ear buds! I'm so pissed off right now. Ugh! Yes, I can walk without them, but I don't want to (imagine my 2 year old temper tantrum happening right now, complete with foot stomping and clenched fists! LOL!). Overall, a pretty good day--got to my 10,000 steps between work and getting home so there's that.

brandy327 great pics! I am struggling with the kids' eating right now as well. For the most part, I believe that what's not healthy for me isn't healthy for them, either. They eat what I eat for dinner, although I may have spaghetti squash instead of pasta, or less or something "unhealthy" and more veggies. Where I struggle the most is snacks, especially now that games have started again. The younger two have been absolutely driving me insane with begging for junk. I try to buy healthier options of drinks and snacks but even with that, they aren't what I would call healthy and they have no moderation. They are begging for candy and snacks the whole game, to where I am about ready to lose it. This week I am not buying anything. They fight about it anyway so I might as well not even waste the money on something I would prefer they don't have. Ugh. So frustrating.

What AN said is perfect! DD is mad at me because I made her eat sweet potato with dinner tonight. The horror. She eats differently here than at her dad's that's for sure. I give her some choices but still make sure she eats protein and fruits and/or veggies with each meal. So I got my test results back and I'm officially a USA Weightlifting Coach. My instructor is set to be one of the coaches for the Olympics for the US team in Rio this summer. He was amazing and I'm so glad I did it! Now I just need to decide how I'm going to put all my coaching certificates to work. I had one big idea for school that my boss initially said yes to but I think her perspective on it has changed since test scores came out last week. Ran yesterday, lifted today, and capped off my workout with a mile tire drag. Tomorrow I'll do the regular class workout. Exercise is definitely keeping me in check emotionally this last week.

I've been eating healthfully for 7 days and now I'm trying for 14. ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) I changed my breakfast to less sugar/carbs and more protein so that I won't have the afternoon sugar craving. I'm having veggies and protein for lunch. And instead of cookies at 3 or 4, I'm having some string cheese and fruit. And eating similarly for dinner. I have a friend who always eats like this, is never on a diet because she is always eating healthfully, and is being a very good role model for me. I seem to gain and lose the same 20 lbs all my life and would like to get and stay in better shape.

That's great news! Your workouts are really inspiring. (Does a mile ass drag count for anything? Cause that's what my daily walks look like.)

Well, thanks very much to TankTop and her inspiring post, I took my starting measurements and did my first BBM workout at 5:15 this morning. Here we go! Time for this woman to reclaim her health and shape. The BBM program seems totally doable with my lifestyle -- a 16 year old, a 5 year old, playing insurance all day and trying to see DH for at least a little while before he leaves for 3rd shift. Giving up 30 minutes of sleep will be well worth it. (I will very likely cuss you out when my muscles ache, TankTop. Just ignore it. I'm an exercise crier.)

Aloha from sunny Hawaii! Today was a super long day and it's not over. 8am flight, arrived at the airport at 5:30am hoping to avoid the TSA issues. We certainly did. They didn't do the shoe thing and dh had a water bottle in his bag that he pointed out when they took a second look on the carryon screening thingie and they let it go. Quick and easy, just like it used to be. Newark Airport Terminal C actually had some wonderfully healthy choices. Had scrambled egg whites with fruit and greens and 1 piece of toast for breakfast when we got there. Bought an amazing salad to eat on the 10 hour flight. It was so big that I ate it for lunch and again for a snack. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Drank my entire water bottle plus water from the flight attendants, so I was good there. Going for a swim even though I feel like I should go to sleep. 9:30pm our time but only 3:30pm here.
