My response would not be one that she would agree with. HOW is your daughter 15 already??
The first thing out of my mouth would probably be, "There's a reason they named that thing 'out from under'" and things would probably go downhill from there . . .

To me, it looks like a one piece bathing suit with denim shorts. If it is going to be really hot, I can see it. My dd is very conservative, by choice, so I do not think it would be something she would wear, but I don't think it is awful either. My dd is also 15.

"Sure...it will look lovely under a sweater"
That'd be a big fat no from me - shes too young, and she'll likely end up dealing with idiots who believe they have a right to comment on her. If she were a little older, she'd have the confidence to deal with asshats, but I'm guessing that she's too young to handle that. So...no. But you will SUCK till she gets over it!

LOL I have a 16 yr old daughter who tried something similar also for an outdoor concert. My reaction was yeah no may as well return it and get your money back because you won't be wearing that.

@tishy, would it change your response if I told you it was backless? No possibility of wearing a bra.

Baha... hahahaHAHA... MWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! (And then I would fall on the floor, rolling about, laughing for dramatic effect.)
And I don't even HAVE kids.
(As a side note... can I just ask... Why is it fashionable to appear as though your hoohoo is eating your shorts?)

Neckline is way too low for my liking so that top would be a no go. but if she agreed to wear a similar top with a much higher neckline and a back to it I wouldn't have a problem with it.

not the person you asked, but the fact that it's backless does make it a BIT like a swimsuit. Except for the fact that swimsuits have built-in bras, or at least some sort of support. I don't have kids but if I did, they wouldn't be wearing anything like that out in public, so it would probably end up being returned.
(heck, I wouldn't wear something like that, myself, even-- lol!)

I live in SFL so what I see here in the grocery stores does not cover as much at this outfit, so that is probably why I am not as phased! LOL. I would have to say no to her if the top was not lined like a bathing suit.

If my 17 year old dd brought that home I'd tip over. She doesn't even like or have booty shorts. So before I could say anything I'd have to pick myself up off the floor!

If I had a daughter no way in ^^%#~ but it would also depend how well endowed she was. I know that sounds bad but if you are flat like the model it isn't as bad as someone with more to cover. I don't think I would have ever been confident enough to wear that.

Thanks all for the validation. No, it is not lined, and she is a B/C cup, so not flat.
My response was similar to several here - started with hysterical laughing and ended with hell, no. She's mad and I have been called the most repressed and conservative person on the planet (which should give some of you a chuckle). And she's pouting in her room. Oh well.

I don't know. Mine is way more modest than I expect her to be. So I've never had to. And DH would have yelled enough for both of us.

I wore a mini skirt once and was told by a guy do you realize how guys see women who dress like that? later I found out he was a rapist. UM HELL NO!! so my response would always be dress to be respected not to be a one night stand. I am fortunately my eldest son dates a girl who is conservative in her attire and she expects boys to respect her not to just chase her for body. I think points need to be made to teenage girls on why they want to dress like that? all their friends are? so if all your friends are sleeping with the guys, do you want them to think of you as a slut too? etc. I think it is crazy that girls dress like this to school (yes they have for years) and still expect boys to be respectful and treat them like they are princesses. last time I checked princesses didn't dress like that!

I think it's cute. If she's willing to safety pin the chest area a little bit to close the gap some I don't see a issue with it.

Thanks for trying but not until you move out of the house and live on your own. That is not acceptable at your age or while I am the parent paying the bills. I agree that it needs to be returned because otherwise it will probably be worn.

I would be channeling my inner Bishop Bullwinkle and start singing "Hell naw to the naw naw naw. Hell to the naw to the naw to the naw naw naw." This coming from one who also has a 15 year old DD.

I agree no. My DD will be at that same festival and I am pushing for a loose long sleeved (or at least sleeved) top and hat. Strictly due to sunburn and heatstroke reasons of course. lol. My DD wants to wear a swimsuit top because they spray water on the crowd. I'll probably back off and agree to swimsuit under a tank or loose top. But she also has a camelback water backpack and that would chafe on a bare back.

Tell her that sun-damaged décolletage is not pretty. I would not be having it, either. In fact, I'd be worried about the outdoor music concert even if she were adequately clothed!

I wouldn't have a problem with it but then I bought and wore a Scandal Suit by Cole when I was sixteen. It was split open lower than that and had a mesh insert.
