Have you been able to give up your landline phone?

I'm 57. I haven't had a land line since 2003. My only 'issue" is sometimes laying my phone down in the house and not remembering where it is since it is not tied to the wall but then I had the same trouble with those cordless phones when they didn't get returned to the charging cradle.

I haven't had one since 2009, my mom and dad are late 60s and they gave it up 2 or 3 years before I did!

Never missed it.

No, we do not get good cell phone reception at our house. We can't even get TV reception without cable. And we are not the only ones because once in awhile the lack of cell phone reception pops up in our homeowners newsletter.

If you bundle, the entire bill is cheaper with a landline.  It is weird. We get free long distance with our landline and that phone is much better than cell phone.  

We got rid of ours and just use cell phones. We even got a cell phone for our dd because it was cheaper to add the cell phone with data to our plan then keep the landline. We just moved and the phone company is basically paying us to get a landline. I am amazed at how often it rings. We haven't given the number to anyone. I don't even know what it is. It is all telemarketers calling.

No, actually we still have two. Both DH and I work from home and need that stability for things like conference calls, etc that are separate from personal calls/texts/etc.

We're old and still have a land line.  The only calls we get are from telemarketers and collection agents for the deadbeat autoparts dealer who had the number before we did. It's been six years and we still get calls. Ridiculous. 

We only have it because Frontier was going to charge us more for the Fios TV & Internet service if we didn't have a landline. So our whole bundle costs less WITH a phone.  Plus we have free long distance. That's about the only time we use it for out going calls.  More ridiculousness. 

We gave ours up when we moved in 2012, but we're considering getting one again because we live in the middle of a pretty bad cell phone dead zone. We have a cell booster but it only helps marginally. It drives DH nuts to be in the middle of a business call with a client and the stupid cell signal drops the call. It's annoying.

Yes. We haven't had one for a few years. No one important ever called it. It was only spam calls. At first, I just turned the ringer off, but we didn't see the point in that, if we were never going to use it, so we just got rid of it all together.

We both have cell phones but still have a landline. I won't give it up as it doesn't cost much and I've had that phone number for 40+ years. I do realize that I could transfer the number to my cell but I don't want to. I also hate talking on cell phones. Don't like the way they feel. The only thing I use my cell phone for is to call home when I'm out, to ask my hubs if he wants me to bring him a hamburger. I'll have my land line until I die or they stop supporting land lines. I'll also always have a cell phone.

We have one like many others I keep it because I have a bundle with Verizon and it is cheaper. As of right now it is not even plugged in, I don't even remember the number (we just moved and joined Verizon).

I will have to hook it up soon though, as we are applying to be Foster Parents and one of the requirements is to have a landline phone with safety numbers posted next to it.

We got rid of ours almost 20 years ago & have only cell phones. Much cheaper & I get my own messages that my family would "forget" to give me!

We are between two cell towers and cell reception is poor for the entire block of homes. So we keep our landline. Mostly so telemarketers can ring us. Lol.

We still have one and will keep it. It's peace of mind for me and I think the quality is better.
