I always think life is better when we have something to look forward to Today I'm looking forward to my swimming lesson (why did I wait 46 years to learn to swim properly? I could kick myself) My husband is coming over for ten days in a couple of weeks and we're planning things to do, so far we're going swimming, shopping, visiting York for the day and getting dressed up to go out on a proper date (I bought a dress!!) I have tickets to a soul night and bbq with a friend in early August. Over to you ladies, what are you looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to hearing if the offer we made on a condo is accepted tomorrow! This will be the first time I'm purchasing a home and to say I'm excited would be such an understatement! We went to the open house yesterday and decided it would be perfect for us.
Before that I'm looking forward to breakfast out in about 20 minutes with two of my dh's sons and dils!
ETA: they came back with a counter offer but we decided to stay with our original...we'll see what happens from here.
And one more update...we got it!!!!!!!

I am looking forward to: A week in Greece at the end of August. Exclusive resort, suite with a private pool, right on the beach not far from Heraklion. My son visiting us in September from Australia - which means Oktoberfest with him, and a side trip to Madrid.

I always think life is better when we have something to look forward to So true! I like the anticipation almost as well as the actual happening. Right now I'm looking forward to several more trips this summer (we just got back from a week on the beach), the bathroom remodel being finished, and starting to can all the lovely summer produce.

My son is taking me to a Steven Tyler concert. With Meet and Greet tickets, row 4 !!! Since it seems so unreal to me, I can't quite grasp it yet. Plus, I have no idea what to wear for my frigging picture with Mr. Steven Tyler.

I look forward to getting big things off my plate. I like making a list and checking things off so today:
finishing vacation laundry weeding-holy cow we were only gone 10 days!! Getting back to work and seeing what 'my guys' were up to while I was gone. I really like my job and the people I work with.
This week I'm looking forward to a Jimmy Buffett concert with DH. I am soooo not a music person and am not particularly crazy about who we're meeting at the concert (strained relationship right now) but I can't wait because JB is on DH's concert bucket list and we'll have six hours in the car without kids to talk to each other uninterrupted or just be silent-by ourselves!

I'm looking forward to good cajun food and being on the outskirts of New Orleans next week. I'm trying decide if I'm too far away to make an out-of-the-way stop at Cafe Du Monde for breakfast one morning.
I agree 100% that life is better when you have something to look forward to. That's what makes my job such a great fit for me. I always have travel to look forward to. Only rarely am I travelling to a place that I just don't want to go, and only then if it's a place I've been to multiple times with a client or account that is difficult. Even then, I'm still happy packing, going to the airport, enjoying a good book on the plane, and staying in a hotel room that is cleaned for me every day. You would think I would be tired of that after 6 years, but it just never gets old. Eating in restaurants gets old, but flying and staying in hotels doesn't get old for me.

Our grandchildren are coming for a week in July - can't wait! We get to spend the whole week with them at my parent's lake home.
I finally have a date for retirement. If all goes according to plan, my last day is September 1, 2017. I know it's over a year away, but I am so, so ready.

Right now it's getting dad moved to his new place next week, getting the rest of the mulch down and DH finally finishing is "it won't take long" project. The 'project' has been ongoing for almost 7 months now. Not really looking forward to it but we do have another short trip planned for the end of August.

I'm really looking forward to our house being done.....2 more months but I'm chomping at the bit to get in there. I want a "real" kitchen with an island and actual counter space. Cooking and baking in our little rental has been tough especially with 3/4 of my kitchen stuff in storage.
I am NOT looking forward to my oldest heading off to college in a year. I'm really really gonna miss her.

I'm looking forward to hosting my daughter's baby shower in two weeks. Been planning it for months. Can't believe it's here. Then off to Vermont after that. Then Chicago for two more baby showers in August. Then in Sept. we back in Chicago for a few weeks for the birth of my first grand daughter. This winter I'll be in Sanibel for a week with my new grand daughter and from there it's our two week Caribbean cruise. That takes me through the end of January. I've got a lot to be grateful for and to look forward to.

Right now, I'm looking forward to the boys coming back for their week with us. DS1 is in the middle of driver's training and gets his first permit tomorrow.
But I'm really looking forward to our trip after the 4th of July.

Short term: getting my kids' swim scores from yesterday's meet. This is our first year doing swim and it was our 3rd meet. My daughter's placed 1st in a heat and in a stroke. My son did well and put forth a good effort. Hoping to see improvements in their times.
Long term: our 2week Hawaii Vacation at the end of summer. DH and I will be leaving the kids with grandparents and going to a different island for a few days. Looking forward to spending time in paradise as a family and as a couple.

I never treat myself to anything but I paid too much for Luke Bryan tickets for September and I am soooo looking forward to it. I'm a concert newbie and didn't know the tickets hadn't even gone on sale to the general public. When I looked online and didn't see them on the tour page, I panicked thinking it was sold out and bought them from a reseller. Oops. At least I have them though. I cannot wait! I feel like such a fangirl! It's a belated 50th birthday present to myself from last summer.

DD and I are leaving in a couple of weeks to go to my mom's. We're going to help her go through things in preparation for her moving closer to us.
Also, we've got a Disney cruise coming up in October with my mom. None of us have cruised before, so there is a lot of excitement and planning going on. We'll be on a short 3-night cruise on the Disney Dream going to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay. Everyone is really looking forward to it!

SIL and nephews coming in for a long visit (haven't seen them since Dec). SIL's 40th bday party at our pool next weekend BFF and her girls flying in for long visit (they live in Russia)! 4th of July - it's our twin sons' 14th birthday - big pool party (always!) Our 22nd wedding anniversary in mid-July. We're taking an RV trip to the coast. One day while there the boys are going to the waterpark while DH and I enjoy a day to ourselves at the beach, eating fabulous seafood and probably finishing it off at the pool swim up bar at the RV park. Can't wait!

My custom blue velvet chair coming from West Elm in August. I've never had a bedroom big enough for an accent chair.
