Good morning ladies!!! I hope you're all having a great week!! I'm still chugging along, following my eating and exercise. The scale was up this morning, which doesn't add up since I ate on the lighter side yesterday, but oh well. I'm up early this morning because ds has a dentist appt at 10 and I want to get my workout in before we have to leave. After we get back, I have more stuff on my to-do list like washing screens and cleaning my bedroom. I hope you all have a fantastic day!!

I wonder if your increase this morning is water related, brandy327. Water retention can be so frustrating. I am still doing well here. Not sure what is for dinner. It's just two of us for the next 3 nights (DD and I). I get really lazy with cooking when no one is here. She still eats like a 2 year old so cooking something goes to waste. I will need to ask her what she feels like because she is picky but gets that from me. LOL! And not sure if she is going to cardiac rehab yet or not. She still sounds awful though I know she is no longer contagious. Decisions, decisions today. Enjoy everyone!

Actually brandy327, I'm going to borrow your word "chugging" along because that's exactly how I feel too. I'm doing my best to eat well each day and for now getting in the limited exercise I can. I think many of us are the turtle and not the hare in this weight loss "race." It feels too slow a lot of time, but I have to remind myself that it's about lifestyle change and not instant transformation. I have my last doctor's visit today and will have the stitches removed and I hope within a week I can begin to get more active. While I wait to exercise, I have some exciting chores today...washing windows...which really only gets done about once a year.

My period is finishing up though and I usually see a good loss when that happens and so far just an up and down of a lb. I've lost close to 45 lbs since January though so I imagine a plateau is inevitable. I guess I'll just have to work harder. I'll be in the same boat with cooking next week. The 3 kids are going to my MILs for at least 2-3 days. She's taking them to an amusement park and then out to do some other things before she leaves for Wisconsin next month. So it'll be just me and dh. I think one of the nights we'll find a cheap, healthy meal out somewhere. Depending on the weather, I may try to head to the beach on my own one of the days. I've never done that and I really want to just sit on the beach and relax and veg the entire day.

My average loss is 1.43 lbs a week. I think to be healthy, 1-2 lbs a week is best. So keep at that turtle pace. You are awesome! I have a turtle on my Pandora bracelet. I think I need to look at it a bit differently now.

Morning! Checking in before I get dd to the orthodontist. She has annoyed me already and it's not even 9 a.m.! I called her during my walk to wake her and I got home, she was still in bed. Argh! Her appointment is at 9:20...hopefully we'll be out of here in 10 minutes. The orthodontist isn't that far, but I hate to be "on time". I'm one of those "get there 15 minutes early" to feel like I'm on time. Today I got up at 5 like usual and made it to a 6 a.m. boot camp that seriously kicked my behind! It was so good though! I even "jogged" at the beginning as part of our warm up. I was the last to finish, but I didn't feel awful doing it. Granted, it was only 2 laps, but ya gotta start somewhere, right? When I finished with that I drove home and did a 2.89 mile walk in the neighborhood. My time/mile was awful, but I'm blaming it on the boot camp--sucked all my energy out! I still feel pretty accomplished. Today, I see my dietitian and my doctor for check-ups. While I'm not down the weight I wanted to be by the time I saw them again, I'm lighter and I feel better so that's something. After that, the boys have a swim meet tonight and I've got some housework to do between getting back from the orthodontist and getting to my doctor appointments this afternoon. Busy day, but at least I'm ON VACATION! Yippeee!

And a 45 lb loss since the beginning of the year is AWESOME. That's a 1.87 lb loss a week. You go girl!!!!! And after reading your message, I realized it's Wednesday which means Subway night! I think that's what we will do. Too bad they don't deliver. LOL!

Good morning! I'm trying to get psyched up for today's cardio workout. They are tough and not my favorite. I tend to not push myself much when working out and am trying to get past that. Having everyone else on the BBM Facebook group doing it helps and I feel like I am gaining confidence in my abilities (I have never seen myself as "athletic").
DH is staying home with the kids today since now my 7 year old is sick. He is still waiting on a stool sample from the youngest. I posted last night that he had red diarrhea twice yesterday do the daycare provider was worried that he may have blood in his stool. We will see. All three kids are supposed to have games tonight but I will probably have to stay home with the younger two if DS is still sick.
Yesterday I was so tired, especially while I was driving. I didn't eat well. I have to drive again today so hopefully can get some things planned to do better.

We are expecting severe weather all day. The rain has started.
I need to of my BBM workout and I would like to run to make up for my missed day on Monday. I love to run in the rain. It makes me feel like a beast. Lol!
I think I will clean house and sit on my front porch and read. I have a HUGE front porch. It is one of my favorite things about this house. I also want to paint a small wall in a new paint color I am considering to test it out. If we don't like it I will just paint over it with the original color. My dh thinks I am crazy, but I'm used to it. Lol! Ds has a friend over so he will be entertained.
Dd,16, recently decided to no longer play varsity volleyball. This has really opened her summer up. The coach is an interesting person and she was tired of the mental abuse. She said he was turning something she loved into something she hated. So proud of her for making a decision and going to him to tell him herself instead of just not showing up. This has opened her up to return to pottery. She did pottery when she was younger, and she is loving being back on the wheel.

Well my workout today sucked in a big way. It was supposed to be 2 10 min runs with a few mins of walking in between runs. I made the first 10 min run ok...but felt really sluggish and like I was having to work a lot harder than I have all the other times. The 2nd 10 min run was horrible. I dropped my already turtle speed down part way through that run and actually had to walk the last minute and a half of running. When I finished, I was actually a bit shaky like my blood sugar was low. So even though I had a 100 calorie pack of oatmeal before my workout, I ate 2 waffles with pb and some strawberries/raspberries/blackberries. I feel a LOT better now but in the 6+ weeks of doing the C25K program, this is the first time I've never not completed the running portion.

Oh and here's a before/during photo that I posted to my IG acct yesterday. I went looking through my old printed photos looking for some more comparison photos. I'd lost my original 50-60 lbs before we really immersed ourselves in the digital camera stuff so I knew that the true before photos would be in my boxes of photos in the basement. The before pic here was taken in 1999...and the during was a couple of days ago before my workout.

brandy327 Dang girl! You are amazing! As far as the run....some days it is so easy. Other days it is a total struggle. It is just the way it is. If I was you, I would redo that last run portion later today just to prove to myself I could do it. You don't need any negative messages in your brain. Kwim? As far as pace, you should be varying your pace. I try to do two at pace days per week and two easy/slow days per week. I never plan it. I just go with how I feel when I start. If it is a struggle day, I slow down and take it easy. The running podcasts I listen to talk about doing this to help prevent injury and increase speed. Being easy on your body half the time allows you to run faster the other days.

I'm definitely falling off track with both eating and exercise right now. Had a food day at work (which I didn't ignore like I usually do) and I went to my dog club's awards dinner last night. It was a limited menu, so I didn't get to make the best choice, but I didn't eat too much either. (They had appetizers which I skipped.) I did get a brisk one mile walk in yesterday afternoon but that was about it.
Today, I'm going back to taking small steps in the right direction. I'm going to concentrate on my water intake; I brought my large water bottle with me to work so I have water with me all day. I'll also try to get a few walking breaks in; it's stormy today so I won't take a longer walk outside.
Have a great day everyone!

LOL But I see all these runners that run every day and want to do that too! LOL But I've learned my lesson...rest days are good. I'll check out the article about eating afterwards. Usually if I eat something after, it's usually just fruit.

brab74 Can you read over my post and see if I am on point or not? I don't want to give bad info out. I agree - they usually say to work the shorter runs at a faster pace (or do a running workout to build speed - like fartleks) and then do a "long run" about once a week at a slower pace. During the C25K program, I wouldn't even worry about pace at all; just covering the time/distance is building the running base. I'd just go by feel. Pace comes later. When I'm mentoring the beginning 5K group, we run at whatever pace feels comfortable to them ("conversational" pace) and don't push them to go any faster than that. I didn't get into any type of speedwork until I started training for the 10K.

But I see all these runners that run every day and want to do that too! Don't forget - those runners have been at it for much longer! You'll get there too, and doing it injury free is even better I'll run back-to-back now, but I'm a year into it. I still try to make sure that I get rest days in between as much as possible though.

Great transformation pic, Brandy! Just back from the gym. Did a back workout today. Then stopped and got a donut. Winning!! I idiotically decided to have a garage sale this weekend, so i am in overwhelmed hell. Will be glad to clear some shit out of my house, but I hate all the work leading up to it.

I am trying to think like this as well...I am not really loosing weight, but the eating healthier is making me feel so much better! If you would have told me that I would be looking forward to having salad for dinner, I would have said you were crazy.

Ugh, I'm fighting the food today. A lot of days I can resist most of it and push past the hunger by drinking extra water. Today though? I'm fighting today. I just had 4 oz of turkey and a container of greek yogurt with strawberries and granola for lunch. I'm also drinking water. But yet I want more to eat. I KNOW I don't need more to eat. I think I just need to find something to keep myself busy. I'm going to teach the girls how to make granola here in a few. They've really been interested in learning to cook more...so tonight they're going to make some lean pork chops, oven roasted cabbage and fresh green beans with bacon & onions.

My two faves this week were...
chicken kabobs on the grill with grilled corn (husk, wrap in wet paper towel, wrap in foil)
I also did a pork loin in the crockpot with a BBQ spice rub, shredded it for dinner last night. Dd had pulled pork nachos for lunch today, and I made a BBQ pizza on flatout for myself for lunch.

brandy327 do you follow Skinnytaste on any social media? She often posts weekly meal plans that might help give you some ideas. I did all my food prep the other day but haven't been great at actually eating it. Yesterday we met a friend for fro yo after DD got out of art camp and that filled me up so the only "dinner" I really had was a couple of deviled eggs and apple slices. Tonight we're going to see Finding Dory so not sure how I'm going to work dinner yet. This morning I did some clean and jerk/snatch work then the class workout (overhead squats and pull-ups). The last two days I've eaten a half of a pb & j sandwich with my protein smoothie before going to the gym. During the school year I work out in the afternoons, when I've had some decent nutrition already. Just the smoothie is filling but I'm still sluggish. The half sandwich feels like it's paying off though, because the last two workouts have felt strong. I am definitely guilty of not eating enough at times and need to get out of my head when it comes to worrying about gaining weight. I know as long as it is healthy I will be fine. TankTop, I love some grilled corn! That pork loin sounds good! Patter I like the turtle idea with your bracelet! missfrenchjessica look at you owning your workouts! Nice job! iamkristinl16 I hope your kiddos feel better soon!
