Just bought one too! I know it's been posted a thousand times, but which cookbook should I buy? Thanks! link to my favorite cookbook
It is called the Great Big Pressure Cooker Cookbook. It is a great basic cookbook with recipes you can spice up. The authors also teach the Pressure Cooker class at Craftsy. Something to consider if you really want a nudge to use it to the best of its ability.

Thanks, enabler peas! I used my ebooks gift card (which I never would have noticed if it weren't for the Peas) to buy mine. I am vegetarian, so I ordered this book: Recipe Book. If anyone has any good vegetarian recipes, pass them on! There is a book Vegan Under Pressure and the author has a great website with lots of free recipes. Thanks! Save

Quick Question Elaine or anyone else. I just ordered one for myself and I am excited. My friend is thinking of getting one too, but she wants to know if you can use frozen food and frozen meat in it.
Thanks!

Okay, I just bought another one! I got mine on Saturday and just bought one for my daughter-in-law! She was on the fence with the sale until I offered to get it for her upcoming birthday... boom, birthday shopping done!

I just ordered one-I hope I can figure this thing out and make good use of it. I got a little glassy-eyed and giddy when I read Elaine's post about making intensely flavored stock quickly. eeep! Guess I'd better start reading all the instapot threads . . .

So excited to get this and hopefully do a better job cooking and saving money. Hoping this becomes our new "Fast Food" option!

Funny. I ordered mine and then called my sister - whose main love in life is cooking and baking. She had considered one in the past and done quite a bit of reading and research on them. Before I could say what brand, she asked if it was the Instant Pot - said she thought I'd be very happy with it.

Just bought the Instant Pot with minimal research based on you guys. Blindly going where many Peas have gone before. I have a daughter who is vegan and hoping this helps her prep food. I think I'll have fun with it too.

Thanks! You can use small pieces of frozen meat, like frozen meatballs, frozen thin chicken breasts (the ones that are sold frozen and not more than 1" thick) , frozen cubed stew meat, etc. You just need to add around 5-10 minutes to cooking time. Frozen roasts, frozen whole chickens, turkeys, etc. are NOT recommended. It is good, but can't work miracles. Frozen veggies, etc., are no problem.

My smile links support the Organization for Autism Research. They are amazing. I have raised a few thousand dollars for them through running, but now that I am sidelined, I do what I can through Amazon. But, unless each person has a smile link/account, I don't know if my links when used by others do anything.

My younger son has to wear a harness on the school bus - I should look into a system for my car, as when he has meltdowns in the car, it is becoming dangerous for me too. LOL! I just noticed that I'm wearing my OAR singlet in my avatar - I ran the Pittsburgh Half-Marathon for them.

For those of you who have been wanting it, now's the time. I just ordered it using Alexa and with her discount, my total, with tax came to $64 I bought one this morning at work. It's great when your doc loves and appreciates Amazon deals.

Okay, you gals have convinced me to come out of lurkdom... Is the Instant Pot ideal (and justifiable, expense-wise) for someone who doesn't care for cooking (quick and simple is my game), is following a lower carb lifestyle, and only needs to cook for one person most of the time? My mother-in-law may, on occasion, want to give it a whirl for rice and beans. Here's my situation: MIL cooks one big meal for our family each day -- it serves as lunch and dinner. I have some weight to lose so I prefer to be on my own for most meals, it's much easier this way. I've been eyeing the Instant Pot posts lately and I've watched several YouTube videos. Quite frankly, this thing looks fantastic. But for someone with very basic needs and limited cooking skills, is it worth it? Thank you for any and all input. I'm ready to buy, just need a little push. ^^^ I'm hoping the answer to your questions is yes, because you described me pretty much to a T, except for the fact that I'll be cooking for two of us at my house, lol!! I bought a different cookbook that says it's healthy recipes... Hopefully the recipes in it don't have a ton of weird ingredients that I wouldn't ever use. But I also plan on combing through elaine's recipe threads to see what kind of more *simple* and *general* recipes or cooking tips there are.

Another one jumping on the Insta-Pot boat. I haven't checked out yet because DH and I have a few more things we want to add, but I can't wait to come look at the old threads and start cooking up a storm
