Probably my only severe pet peeve of card making are the companies that sell really cute stamp sets but they don't capitalize the sayings appropriately, or they don't capitalize at all.
You see stamp sets without the day of the week or the months capitalized. Titles should be capitalized. Anyway, I refuse to use sentiments that are not capitalized correctly. There is one popular company that has a cute school related stamp set, but even in that stamp set the beginning of a sentence is not capitalized. I am not going to send a card to a teacher using that stamp.
I did email a couple of companies about this and both companies replied back that is was just an artistic license they take. To me, it is like sending someone a card with mistakes in it. We send our kids to school so they will learn to write correctly which does include capitalization, and then companies seem to not back up our educational system. To me, it's a "dumbing down of America" type of thing.
Anyway, that's just my thoughts. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Like you, I don't knowingly purchase anything with grammatical errors. While the designer certainly has creative license with his/her products, they are not something I would use. It's a personal preference.

I don't mind lack of capitalization so much (although if you put punctuation at the end, then you should capitalize the beginning). But I won't use stamps that have other grammatical errors (most commonly misplaced or improperly included apostrophes) or spelling errors or missing words.

I don't like spelling mistakes in products, and I am also in the UK so I don't use things with American spellings like 'favorite' - it just looks wrong to me.
Having said that, capital letters or the lack of them doesn't bother me at all. Lota of sentiments are only phrases rather than full sentences, and don't have a full stop, so in my mind it doesn't even register. In some fonts, I think it looks much nicer to have all the letters a consistent height.

For things that should obviously be capitalized regardless of where they are in the phrase, it probably would bug me. But for a sentiment on the outside of a greeting card or something like that, I'll give a little more leeway because those things typically either all capitalized or no caps depending on the style (Happy Birthday or happy birthday for example). I detest products that contain spelling errors or other obvious mistakes and won't use those. LOL @journeyfan has a whole section on her blog dedicated to products with errors like that! For your reading pleasure, here's a link ! Some of them are pretty comical.

I don't mind all caps or all lowercase sentiments, but I really don't like them mixed. I don't think I've come across any with spelling errors. Well not that I've caught (YIKES!). And I typically don't buy stamps that say BEE-utiful or something similar.
When I look at purchasing a stamp set, I look to see how many of the stamps/sentiments I will actually use (at least 50%)and how often I will use it, versus the price.
The cute little $3.99 donut stamp from LF purchased with a 40% coupon? Yeah I bought it even though I may only use it a few times.
The $15.99 smoothie set that is so cute but I can't imagine using it more than two or three times? Pass.

If you end it like a sentence, then you better begin it like a sentence!

Crazy4scraps, thanks for posting the link to the web page of obvious mistakes. There seems to be quite a few of them.

Don't you just love when a mistake is pointed out to a company and they respond it was supposed to be that way.
