Did anyone watch tonight? I didn't, but according to Twitter, Tiffany Trump did very well. Donald Trump, Jr., apparently did, too. But now it appears that one of his best lines was lifted from someone else. Oops! At least it was from a conservative, I guess.
ETA: The original writer of the phrases in question appears to have helped write the speech? It's a little unclear.

I thought Tiffany was very well spoken. She did a great job delivering the speech. I don't know if she wrote any of it, but her execution was well done. Jr. sounded okay, but I was not fond of much of what he said as I disagreed with it. Christie sounded exactly like he did during his campaign. Hillary is guilty. That was pretty much what he said. I mised Ryan's speech.

I am a Democrat and I feel badly for you all. I'm sorry you feel this way about your party right now. I know I would be devastated if was happening in my party. I know the political discourse/discussion can't be what you'd prefer it to be because of your nominee. I am always going to prefer a Democrat be in the White House, but getting there as a result of what we are all experiencing now is not ideal for ANY of us. While the leaders may not be fighting the unification of the party, many democrats definitely are. Your party is on the brink of imploding as well, just from the bottom instead of the top.

I caught DTJR speech it was very good I could see him running for political office at some point. Also caught Ben Carson he may be a successful surgeon but the guy is a nut lol. His lucifer reference and Hillary was crazy. I thought the speech by the soap star was meh and the Muslim for trump speaker was ineffective I thought. Not sure why they didn't end with Trump but as the CNN pointed out not everyone watches the whole convention coverage a lot catch it on social media or CNN rather then say ABC. Also as one commentator pointed put putting him where he was in the line up got ppl to tune in. It seems like ppl really clear out of there quickly while speakers are still speaking.

I watched most of it tonight.
I thought Tiffany Trump did a great job. I was actually expecting her to come across as ditsy and unprepared. In reality, she came across very well.
I didn't watch Christie speak. I cannot stomach him - on many levels.
I did listen to Carson, and yeah, he was ok. Nothing super great. He most defiantly is throwing his hat behind Trump because he wants to be Surgeon General.
I didn't catch Paul Ryans speech live but I am rematching some of it now on Cspan. I did, however, note that he was chomping on gum like a damn cow while on stage. How embarrassing.
Trump Jr sounds like a politician. I suspect he will run in the future. I tuned much of what he said out, but I think he probably did the best of the night - with Tiffany being second. I don't agree with all his points, but I only notice him stumble once.

At one point in the speech, she said that Donald Trump is never going to give up for let us down… As in never gonna give you up… Never gonna let you down… never going to tell a lie or desert you… Thank you. I googled this and it still did not make sense.

I hope everyone is watching Stephen Colbert. At least he can make us laugh at this sham of a convention. If it wasn't for the fact this is a convention for the President of the United States of America, this is the best entertainment since Not Ready For Prime Time Players on SNL.

I didn't mean to imply that the Democrats are without problems. Not at all. But I do feel, in my estimation, that fewer people will be holding their noses when they vote for Hillary than those who vote for Trump. I could be wrong. That's just the way it feels to me at this particular time.

You're right freecharlie but its still disappointing that we cant be unified (even if for appearance sake). I think that is exactly what led people to where we are now---going along with things for the parties sake, even just for appearances. When people pull out the one bat shit crazy person from 16 other viable candidates---someone(s) at the head of the party should be listening to TGAT!

I may be in the minority, but I was not impressed by the delivery style of Tiffany Trump. I was thinking so at the time, and when I caught a clip on the news this morning, it struck me again. She smiled a LOT and when she spoke there was just something too contrived about it for me. It just didn't seem very natural. Donald, Jr. was very good in his presentation, although I can't agree with a lot of what he had to say.

I think we got to this place BECAUSE we had 16 people who couldn't differentiate themselves from the pack. We had too many choices, and because of it, everyone split their votes around to too many people. The Christian Conservatives didn't vote for Trump - they were behind Rubio and Cruz. If they even voted at all. Trump is here now because he said what many non-Christian Conservatives think/feel. They are ready for change - even if they aren't thinking about what that change will be. I think that if we had viable 3 choices, from the get go, Trump wouldnt be where he is now. But everyone wanted to make a point by running and Boom. Trump is the guy. I live in a very Christian Conservative area. I only know of one person that admits to voting for Trump. One. Most of the people I know were behind Cruz.

I know she's only 22 but she, along with Ivanka look like plastic dolls. That just makes them look insincere and robotic.

Anyone watching tonight? Is Ted Cruz going to be the big story of this evening? That was interesting. And then Trump making his entrance - he's all about the show. And now, when his son is speaking, he doesn't even really seem to be listening - he's looking around and responding to other people.

Yeah, THAT got awkward. That crowd was ready to pounce. Why even speak? Cruz had to know that was going to end badly.

That was crazy! Eric Trump's speech is great! Erin
ETA If Trump is gracious and doesn't belittle Ted Cruz's decision not to endorse, he could come out looking like a hero. If he takes shots at him and tears him down he will come out looking incredibly small and will lose a great opportunity to look presidential.

oh god. I cannot stomach Chris Christie.
Honestly? He is probably the only person that could make me revolk my Republican card without a second though.
I don't know much about Pence. I am listening to him tonight, and he presents himself very well.
Re: Cruz: he came across as a sore loser. He should not have agreed to speak if he couldn't get behind the candidate. I saw him give a rally earlier today on Cspan. I knew then he wouldnt endorse Trump after seeing that. He all but said don't vote for Trump.
Newt would have been a good VP, but I think he is more 'bulldog' than Pense, and Im not sure two bulldogs on the ticket would be a good thing. Pense seems to be a balance on the ticket for Trump.

As someone in Indiana, I can't listen to Pence any longer. he is not someone I would want to have a proverbial beer with (especially because I don't drink beer), but, I actually think his speech is pretty good, although the delivery a bit smarmy politician-ish. At least he can laugh at himself.... And his mom was adorable! . Erin
