I haven't been able to read a ton this year but last year I kept up with the book thread. I'd like to see it continue.

I haven't been able to post on Batya's thread in recent months - very busy with work and not reading as much - but I love the thread and making note of books for my list. I hope there's a weekly reading thread here!

Yep, Gina M started a "continue with reading thread here" post already link and I spotted quite a few regular posters. It's become my favorite regular thread too.

Additionally, I made a profile pic for myself here, something I never did at 2peas. This is me and my hubby in Grand Cayman.

I'm been slacking in the reading department so I don't get to post every week because it usually takes me a few weeks to read a 500-600 page novel. My problem is when I read, which is prior to bedtime and then I only make it about 15-20 minutes before I want to snoze

When do you dump a book? I'm reading Arena One (YA, always on the "If you loved Hunger Games" lists) and MAN does this author need a decent editor. But when I decided I was done with it, I was already like 40% through, so I'm sticking with it/skimming ... When do you give up?

Betsy, never is my answer. I always have the hope that the book will get better and the curiosity to want to know where the story is going. Melissa

I'll quit reading a book after 50 pages if I'm not enjoying it. If I'm not looking forward to reading it - then I have way too many other books I would rather be reading!

I'm here! Even though I'm more of a Christmas vacation/summer reading pea.
I'd like to nominate Mimima to continue the weekly thread in case we can't locate batya.

I try to give a book 50 to 75 pages before I dump it, but if it really is not interesting me, sometimes I bail earlier. I have too many others I want to read.

Be brave, Betsy, quit!
I figure with a list of 400 books, and a to-read pile of at least 50 books not to mention nearly 20 of my computer, I am not going to bother if I hate something.
I think Batya will be here. I hope.
