I'm looking for black tea that is strong and flavorful WITHOUT adding any sugar or sweetner. Please tell me it exists.

Yes, Twinings English Breakfast tea is my store brand default. However, if you want a tasty, strong, delicious cuppa and can order from Amazon, Typhoo Tea is my very favorite! A little more than store brands, but sooooo worth it!

Thanks! I'll try Tetley. I've never seen Twinings. I thought Tazo would be great, it wasn't.

If you want most basic, inexpensive grocery store tea, we like Red Rose but I'm not sure if it's only regional (California). Not a fan of of regular Lipton's tea bags, but they do have some more upscale varieties available.
And of course, the "higher end" grocery store brands like Twining's and Celestial Seasonings are nice.
My supermarket has a small British foods section and they carry Taylor's Yorkshire Gold which is very nice. I actually prefer the Yorkshire Red, but I have to order that on the internet, so I often get the Gold instead.

I am drinking Teatulia right now. The flavor and strength is good, but I do add a little sugar, so I can't speak to that part.

Tetley. Boiled. Don't dunk it mug, but get a stove-top kettle, bring 2 cups per serving to a rolling boil, drop in a tea bag per serving, reduce heat to low, steep for 2 minutes then remove from heat and serve. Hot, yummy, black and fab.
Barry's, if you can get it, is also good. Same process.

I second the recommendation of Trader Joe's Irish Breakfast. Strong and flavorful.

I have found the Tetley British Blend to be very good and it is usually right next to the regular Tetley at least in my supermarkets.

My mom has drank hot tea her whole live, and gets Salada tea bags. She's in NH , and it's sold in all grocery store that I've been to all over New England. I can't buy it here in the Denver area. She always puts a few of her saladas in a ziploc bag, to have when she's out here visiting us. She found some Celestial Seasonings teas she liked when we toured their factory. For anyone who lives or visit Colorado, the tour at their Boulder factory is great. They also have a big tasting room and will brew you a cup of any kind you want to try, FREE! You can try as many as you want to. It's a great place to visit.

Probably not a store item, but Gelavia English Breakfast tea is. The absolute best I've tried. I found it one year at Fresh Market and put a box in DH's Christmas stocking. He loved it too, and recently ordered some to replenish our supply since we can't find it locally. And when you brew it, you really need to heat the brew pot with boiling water as the Brits do.
