I got totally choked up by Michelle Obama's speech. What a brilliant, well spoken, inspirational person. I wish she'd run for office of some form. She's fantastic. me too! She is amazing!

They are not even letting Bernie start. This will be interesting.

Yeah, I know, she won't ever run...but I think she would make an amazing attorney general or Supreme Court Justice. That's what should happen...after the Dems sweep it in November, Michelle or Elizabeth should end up on the Supreme Court. I bet RBG would retire to let that happen!

I actually cried at "Bridge Over Troubled Water." One of my favorite songs. I wish people of all political beliefs would take Paul Simon's song to heart. I've always loved this song and tonight I was moved to tears by it. Just think of how the world would be if we each could be a bridge over troubled waters instead of the fury that is causing the trouble.

No, I'm with you mom . This is a little too lengthy for me too. Plus, I mean...following Michelle? Tough stuff. ETA but I am happy with the message and the passion. I think he's being fairly effective in terms of unity on the floor.

Ted Cruz should take a cue from Bernie.

Michelle Obama's speech was flawless! I'm not an American and I was very moved. I think they should have closed with her.
I loved how she put down Trump but didn't need to utter his name so classy and effective.
I think she could run for office and be very successful!

Bernie did a fabulous job of reaching out to his supporters and then bringing everyone together. I love Bernie. I voted for him. Now I will vote for Hilary. He did not speak too long in my opinion. He had a job to do. This was his swan song. Take all the time you need, Bernie.
Paul Simon was never a strong singer. It is his poignant songs. They reach across the generations. Yes, he sounded bad, but it's not like he was in a recording studio either. When they played his 'They've all come to look for America' for Bernie's video clip I got tearful.

Ted Cruz should take a cue from Bernie. From what I saw, the banter between Hillary and Bernie was much different than the way trump treated Cruz (and continues to, based on his comments after the convention). I think Cruz should have just declined the invitation to speak, but understand why he did what he did.

I am firmly on the bench of 'he shouldn't have accepted the invitation to speak'.

I think Paul Simon singing Just slowed the momentum, but in the end it was ok since they picked it back up. I didn't realize that he sang the song in the video as well.

I've listened to Bernie for years. He used to be a regular on the Randi Rhodes show. He has always made sense and is loved by a lot of people. I felt really bad for his supporters. They are so loyal and are so dissappointed. I think he did a good job of throwing his support to Hillary.

If Cory Booker is the future of the Democratic Party, they have no future! I know more about Cory than he knows about himself. Donald Trump .(Twitter)
I don't think that he watch the same speech I did.

And a good way to rile up rumors amongst the racist contingent of his supporters.

And now... screeching to a halt. I'm sorry for this woman, but just like I didn't like trotting out the grieving mother at the RNC to deliver and anti-immigrant message, I don't like the sad story about being a victim of Trump. People want to vote FOR someone, not against someone. Tell us why to vote for Hillary. This belongs in campaign ads, not the convention speeches. I totally agree that speech/victim seemed like a Trump type of move that he would make. I think it's much more effective to tell why to vote for someone rather then why not to vote for the other.

To be fair, they did explain why she was supporting Hillary. They started with trumps comments about the disabled journalist, but she talked about meeting Hillary years ago and how Hillary has supported rights of disabled people, etc. I don't follow trump on Twitter but just looked at his most recent tweets after seeing the one above. It is amazing how much energy he is using to talk about how Bernie got screwed, etc. Seems a little conflicting with his views about Cruz and his own opponents.

I predict that Michelle Obama's speech will appear at a future RNC. It was brilliant and she delivered it flawlessly.

Cory Booker gave an awesome speech. Michelle Obama was amazing. I also appreciated the passion in Bernie Sanders' speech. He certainly didn't give a lukewarm effort; he was all in and committed throughout.

Damn. All these people showed up and parked themselves in my living room and refused to remove themselves, so I missed all the best speeches. (aka my family came over and wouldn't leave) I did see Paul Simon and he made me cry. I don't care how bad he sounded. He's Paul Simon and he can sing anywhere and anytime he likes. I saw the disabled young woman speak, and Sarah Silverman and Al Franken. I thought they were great. But I missed Michelle and Elizabeth and Cory and Bernie. Earlier today I saw Bernie getting booed by his own followers, and I thought, these people SUCK. Really, just shut up and go away. Grow the hell up. You did your thing and you lost. Stop trying to ruin the party for everyone else, too.

Favorte interview of the night: MSNBC was interviewing a young Bernie delegate.,she was very upset, cried during his speech. She was upset that the convention was all about Hillary. And she was mad that they made Bernie speak last. She thought they were disrespecting him by making him go last. Lordy...

Michelle Obama is amazing! I am so glad my daughters got to grow up having her as First Lady. She also gave me another reason to vote for HRC, to show my daughters that a woman can be the President.
