Good morning ladies! Happy Wednesday!! I hope you're all doing well! Things are going well here. I picked up a hard covered spiral journal yesterday and have made it into a weights tracking book. I want to be able to see week to week what I'm doing and when I see improvement. Hopefully I can stick to it longer than a couple of weeks. I'd like to see some muscle tone under the excess skin. Today is supposed to be another scorcher. Every year I tell my dh that I want to move south so I don't have to deal with the snow. But then every summer when it hits 90+, I'm like no way could I live in these temps all summer long. I'm looking forward to next week when it drops back down into the seasonal mid 80s. LOL On the agenda today is some light housework and then ortho appts this afternoon for 2 of the 3 kids. My workout is first on the agenda though and I'm a little skeered. My quads and hamstrings and glutes are SO sore from yesterday's pathetic lower body workout. Today is a running day though...and I'm doing W7D1 again which is a 25 min run. I'm going to keep doing that one until I can run the full 25 mins straight. Here's hoping my legs can hold out that long!! When I went to lay down last night, I felt like I had a slight case of vertigo...and honestly couldn't decide if I did or not. This morning, I feel kind of the same way...like I'm on that edge. I have only had vertigo once and it only lasted a day or two but it was horrific. I pray that's not what's going on and that it's just from me sleeping so poorly the last few nights. Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful day ladies!!

Wow Brandy, I'm so impressed with everything you're doing. I'm still at the walk/jog and dying stage! In a bit I'll think about adding some weights work, but I'm a bit overwhelmed with the cardio part right now. You're nailing it!!!! I get that almost vertigo feeling sometimes, and it's awful when it goes full blown. Hopefully a little rest, some simple stretching, and a lot of water will help.
I did my 40 minute walk/run again yesterday afternoon -- I'm up to 8 minutes of jogging now. I did a 5 minute walk, 4 minute run, 11 min. walk, 4 min. run, 16 min. walk routine yesterday. I'm going by heart rate, not speed. I stay mostly around 140, going up to 150 during the run. Ha Ha -- it's not getting easier at all. I was so tired from that.
My food was a little better yesterday. I was so busy with work that I didn't snack as much. I'm feeling less anxious, and that really helps with my eating. I think it might have to do with the cardio I've been doing.
Today, I'd like to do a yoga tape. I have to sit and work, take my mom to the doctor's, and go grocery shopping. My work is very very sedentary, so I like to add something to get me out of the house and walking every day.

Hope you feel better brandy327. We did not make it to the pool yesterday. It started raining on our way over. So random. It rained most of the day. I brought ds's friend over here and they played all day. I got the laundry room painted. I can't say enough good things about the Sherwin Williams Infinity paint at Lowes. I am very picky about paint coverage. This is true one coat coverage. It is a little pricey per gallon, but when you consider one coat will cover your coat evens out. Today I have to take dd to orientation at the high school, ds for a haircut, and then I need to hit the dollar store for a few classroom things. I am going to do a VIP table for my students this year as a behavior incentive, so I need to get some fun supplies for the VIP to use. Tomorrow we are going to this huge waterpark/amusement park a few hours away. The kids are taking friends, so they are both staying the night tonight. We plan on ordering pizza for dinner, so I need to be good food wise today so I can enjoy it with them. I will do my BBM workout this afternoon when I get back, and I will run this evening when it cools off. Have a lovely day ladies! 5 days of summer left. Wahhhhhhhh

Oh dear brandy327 , I pray you don't have vertigo. Hope your workout goes well but be careful. And regarding the heat, I have lived in the South for 27 years. I find that the north (according to my snowbound siblings), has temps just as bad but not for as long. I would rather have more warm days than cold/snow/ice. We get the cold/snow/ice a couple of days each winter. I love it but also love that it melts in a few days. I could never live like my siblings where it's on the ground for months. Oh dear. I would say the only bad months we have here are July/August and January/February. The rest of the year is amazing. TankTop, the VIP table sounds awesome. What a fun idea! And sorry about not being able to go to the pool yesterday. I am exhausted. I feel like just crying and doing nothing today. The past two days have been wild, wild, wild. I wish we could skip Cardiac Rehab but we can't. I will muddle through. I have walked the dogs and need to hit the shower in a bit. Thankfully it's Subway night tonight! Have a great day everyone!

maryannscraps. Check out the Bikini Body Mommy videos on You Tube. Her videos are free. I would suggest you start with the 4.0 or 50 challenge. The way she sets them up is to increase intensity from day 1-90. So, the first few weeks will be easier to build your base. With your cardio, you could just do the strength training videos. I would also suggest that you and brandy327 take photos of the body areas you are targeting before starting. Weight training is all about subtle changes. It is nice to see the transformation through pictures when you can't see it in person.

You are truly a Wonder Woman! Agh, girl, thank you but every mom is a Wonder Woman not just me. We all have things we deal with but they are different for each of us. I am no more Wonder Woman than you or any other person here. But would love to have a fun day with all you girls. Wouldn't that be great? And I keep telling myself that all of the girls will be gone to school in a few weeks. I need to enjoy every busy moment because then I will be lonely, lonely, lonely!

Good morning! I am a big time lurker here on the board but I finally decided to post. I love how supportive and encouraging you all are on these threads and I need some accountability.
I was attending WW meetings and was doing great. My leader was pretty good, we met on Saturdays and everyone was so helpful. And then the leader quit. The other leader from the weekday meetings took over and for lack of a better explanation, she sucks. We had a small group (less than 20) but we were consistent. The leader pretty much caused everyone to quit. Our attendance dropped to 4. And 2 of those were the leader and her faithful sidekick. So...WW cancelled our Saturday meeting. I can't really attend the weekday meeting because the weigh in is at 515 and I work nights so i would be cutting it close. And the leader drives me nuts anyway so why torture myself...
So fast forward to now- I am an online member but I have fallen so far off the wagon I don't know how to get back on. I haven't been weighing myself at all. I finally did about 10 days ago and I have gained back almost all of the weight I lost. I don't know where to begin to start the process again.
My dd talked me into signing up for a 10K in November at Disneyland so I finally got off my butt and started couch to 10k. I completed week 3 day 1 yesterday and wasn't really able to "run" for the full 3 mins. I'm having my doubts that I will survive the 10k in November.
Thanks for reading. I'm looking forward to participating more and having some accountability.

billstergirl Good for you for reaching out and getting back on the horse! It's a marathon, not a race. The important thing is you are trying again. A lot of the gals here weigh in on Mondays and then check in here. As far as the Couch to 10k program.... Keep in mind you can repeat a week whenever you need to. As far as the 10k, you can also walk/run that as well. However, I have a feeling the energy and adrenaline from the day will carry you through. I run every other day. Some days it is a cake walk and other days I am struggling to get my mileage in. It is just the way it goes.

billstergirl, glad to have you joining in. My daughter had 4 back surgeries and 2 hearts surgeries which caused me to gain back all of the weight I had lost several years ago. I too didn't know where to start, and I didn't want to weigh myself. Then one day, I just said "It's not going to get better if I keep making up excuses or saying I will start tomorrow." So, I made Feb. 1st my start date, and I haven't looked back. I have lost 33 1/2 lbs. since then, and feel amazing. I am SO thankful I stuck with it, AND I make myself weigh every week to every two weeks NO exceptions even if I have eaten bad. Where I failed before was ignoring the problem. I gained 3 lbs. recently on vacation. Not a problem. I took it back off. Where the problem would have come in is if I would have denied it, ignored it, and not moved forward with my healthy lifestyle. I think this has been the biggest and best change for me. If I gain, don't panic. It's easier to lose 3 lbs. than to have to go back and start ALL over again. KWIM?

brandy327, take care of yourself and don't push too hard. TankTop, I'm right there with you. Yesterday I had 3 emails from my principal asking me questions about the upcoming year. After I answered the first two, I told her I was out of town the rest of the week and I'd talk to her Monday. Yep, I go back on Monday. Let's not think of that right now. Patter, you need to take care of yourself too. Hang in there today. In about an hour I leave on a girlfriend trip! There are 4 of us who have been friends for 20 years. We are just going a couple hours away for three days, but aren't these little trips the best!? My word for the next three days is MODERATION. There will be more food and drink than I used to, but I'll try find the balance between enjoyment and over indulgence. I packed my walking shoes too and hope to do some walking. Enjoy the rest of the week.

TankTop my big question about repeating days with the couch to 10k is can I repeat on consecutive days? I did 2 days in a row on day one and day two and could barely walk on the third day. I'm also concerned about repeating any days or weeks because I may get behind and not be ready for the 10k.

billstergirl Good for you for starting back up. I'm in the same boat. I started exercising again about 4 weeks ago, and I'm slowly making progress. I wouldn't worry about the c2k -- I agree with @tankop. You can repeat and progress at your own pace. By the time November comes around, you'll be ready. That's a long way away. And if you're not quite there, just walk some of it. No big deal. You have a very attainable goal there, and if you keep at it, you'll be able to do it. Either way, figure that you'll be way farther along than if you hadn't done anything. Sorry about the WW leader. I had the same thing happen to me about 5 years ago. But I never went back and I'm sorry about it now. Have you tried MFP? I know there are a bunch of peas on there (although I haven't checked in forever.) If you like the WW program, could you find a friend to do it online with? Just throwing out some ideas.

Patter 33 1/2 lbs is AWESOME. I think I have a bad habit of ignoring the scale. Or I procrastinate and then just never weigh myself. The biggest problem I have is that I work 13 hour days. Granted, I only work 3 of them but I still struggle. We leave for vacation in 10 days and I know that if I don't properly plan, I will just eat way too much junk.

I'm also concerned about repeating any days or weeks because I may get behind and not be ready for the 10k. Do not do consecutive days ever. I run between 15-30 miles a week and never run on consecutive days. If I do I pay for it. The most I would do on an off day is walk. One rough day would not worry me. If the entire week was hard, I would repeat that week. At the end of the day you want to be able to increase at your pace. The program is a good guide, but if it results in discouragement then it is not doing you any good. Kwim?

brandy327 vertigo is no fun! Could it also be a little dehydration? maryannscraps, exercise has been helping me manage mild anxiety for years. If I can't do anything more than a couple days in a row I notice a big difference. TankTop the VIP table sounds so cute! My kiddos would love that. Patter I hope you find some space in your day for a little rest. billstergirl welcome! Building up to a 10K is definitely a process. Take time to work on your mobility (yoga is great for this) and be sure you have properly fitting shoes. You can do it! tuesdaysgone enjoy your girlfriend trip! I haven't checked my school email at all this month. I don't want to! Today is DD's birthday. We had her party over the weekend so today is more of her choice for what to do. She wants to go to a local bakery for macarons and then go rock climbing. I'm pretty sore from two squat-intensive days at CrossFit so I did some yoga this morning and I'm looking forward to rock climbing later! I'm working on a kinda crazy idea for my 40th I want to run by you guys in the next few days once I work out the details. It's fitness-related! Have a great day!

Good morning! Whew - Went to boot camp this morning and my body already feels it. It was a lot of running (which I HATE) but I'm telling myself that was good for my body. I also went to Barre class last night and my hope is the metabolism is kicked into high gear. brandy327 - I hope it isn't vertigo. My DH gets that sometimes and it slows down your whole day maryannscraps - great job on the yoga - it's good for your body TankTop - thanks for the paint suggestion. I've been looking for a good one for a few years and many congrats to you for going strong. I see you on mfp and you are consistent! a great model for all of us Patter - oh girl I'm sorry, we've all been there and it's absolutely ok. I hope your day is looking up billstergirl - one day at a time. Don't go for losing X amount of pounds - just think about today. Then tomorrow, think about tomorrow. Another idea is to have good snacks (carrots/hummus or whatever you like) so you aren't tempted to hit the candy machine. When I go get candy, then I know things aren't good). 13 hours is a long time - you need good fuel tuesdaysgone - have a wonderful trip!

Good grief, you ladies are on top of things! lol... I looked for this thread and found already 17 replies! Let me see if I can follow your habit of tagging each person who's already replied... brandy327 I had one bout of vertigo a few years ago and it was the most awful thing ever. And fairly often I get that feeling that you described, of "almost" feeling it. My doctor did some sort of "adjustment" thing where she had me lie down and she moved my head slowly to both sides, back, forth, etc. It did help, and I've seen people here mention that it's online somewhere and you can do it at home. Also I take Claritin-D. The "D" is important somehow for the ear thing, not just regular Claritin. Unfortunately whatever the "D" is is what druggies use to make meth, so even though Claritin-D is over-the-counter they still keep it behind the counter, and you have to show your ID and get on a registry and you can only buy a certain amount per month. And, drink a LOT of water. That's what my doc said anyway. maryannscraps Lol at the "walk/jog/dying" stage. That would be me, if I ever started trying to jog. And, I just bought a yoga dvd. Can't tell you which one it is though because it's packed in a box, waiting for me to buy some baskets for the new TV thing we just bought, baskets that will slide onto the shelf and hold all the dvds. The way I'm going this summer that dvd may stay in the box till the kids go back to school. Not sure I want to do my first yoga sessions with anyone watching anyway. TankTop Nice to know about that paint because i'm planning to paint dd's room when she goes back to college. She's graduating this year (my baby!) and will be coming home for a year afterwards to do an internship, and I want to make her room more "adult". It still has a lot of the teen stuff, including two purple walls. lol -- And I cannot believe how early you (and a lot of others on this board) go back to school. We dont' start till after Labor Day, and the teachers go back one week before that. Patter -- Add me to the list of those who don't know how you do it all. Yes, maybe we moms are all super women (well, no "maybe" about that, lol) but most of us don't do it with triplets, especially where it involves health issues. I'm been taking care of dd all summer as she recovers from some serious knee surgery and that's been taxing enough, and that's not nearly as serious as heart surgeries! I am happy that I'm able to be home and to take care of her, but still... some days it feels like having a young child again where you have to get everything for them. Poor dd still isn't allowed to put any weight on her leg at all so she needs two crutches and obviously can't carry anything. August 1st is the date of "slight weight-bearing with the physical therapist" (per the doctor's notes), and she's counting the minutes till then. billstergirl The same thing happened to me with WW. I had a wonderful leader who was funny and entertaining and strict all at the same time. She could shut down a side conversation in a second (one of my biggest pet peeves about that meeting were the people who would start talking to each other while the meeting was going on) and ran that meeting so efficiently. Sadly she retired when her dh did and they moved to Florida. The one who took over was pretty awful, so I stopped going. I tried a Saturday morning but discovered that most of the people were this little clique who had known each other forever. I'm not at all shy so it didn't really bother me during the meeting, I just talked anyway. But they were annoying, and after the meeting they'd all be saying to each other "let's go to Starbucks now" and "see you in a few minutes" without ever including any of the new people. The meeting was in a mall and the Starbucks was right downstairs so it wouldn't have been any problem to try to include other people. And, I didn't like that leader, and it was at 7:00 a.m. lol. -- Then I tried online but that didn't work, so I quit that and joined My Fitness Pal. I figured I might as well be paying nothing for basically the same thing I was getting at WW online. tuesdaysgone -- Have a nice trip. I love those little trips, just a few days but it's great to get away. Especially if family isn't involved! lol. When we go anywhere as a family it's always me who does all the work, and sometimes I feel like it would be easier to stay home. littlefish -- Happy birthday to dd! You can work off the macarons by rock climbing! Whew... did I forget anyone? You all post too much. My plans for today are: -- PUT THE DING DANG &$*#*#&$ Raskog cart together for the kitchen!! Oy, how many times can I move that to the next day's list??? -- Take dd to physical therapy. -- Pay some bills, send a few emails, etc. -- RASKOG CART! -- Not cook dinner. (leftovers) -- RASKOG CART! Did I mention that I need to put the Raskog cart together?? Exercise-wise... well, I've taken the dog for a walk. And maybe I'll go to the gym, although dd's PT is right in the middle of the day so by the time we get there, do the PT, get back home...well, really that's not an excuse so we will see...

Ladies, that was BY FAR, the worst damned day of C25K yet. I only made it running for about 12 mins before I had to walk some. Then it was running/walking the rest of the time. I did run more than I walked and I refused to walk more than 30 seconds at a time but damn, that just sucked. LOL I did get 20 mins on upper body weights done first...and for the first time in my life, I'm attempting to add push ups into my routine. I can barely get through 10 and I'm SURE they're not truly push ups because I can't get anywhere near floor level going down. But it's a start. After the weights, I did the C25K and after that finished, I walked for another 10 mins. 65 mins for today. Now I'm sitting on my butt thinking about the stuff I want to get done today. I think I'm going to vacuum first and wipe down counters. Then shower. For breakfast I had 1 slice of cinnamon raisin toast, 2 egg whites w/1 slice of bacon and a cup of coffee. After my workout, I felt really hungry and like I needed something else to eat so I had another slice of toast with some strawberries and grapes. And some water of course. Thanks for all the encouragement ladies!! TankTop I actually told my dh that I'd like to get some photos this weekend...in a sports bra so that I can watch the change of my midsection as I continue to lose weight and also for the changes that hopefully come with lifting some weights. I won't share any of those photos though.

How do you tag someone? Do tell! TIA
I am off and running and grateful it is hump day. My youngest is at camp this week (9-4 daily) so that has been really good for both of us.
I am thrilled it is the end of July. That means it is almost August. That likely still means another month of brutal heat but school starting in a few weeks and our fall routine starting. I love summer and the change of pace but am always ready for the school routine to start back up.
I hadn't weighed in a few days and weighed this morning and I was down 2 lbs. I saw a number I have never seen!!!! That was a fun surprise. I really need to clean out my closet. I have purged my wardrobe may times with the weight loss over the years. The hardest was when I had to purge and buy new 4 times in 2 years. Lol That got kind of old. I am not a huge lover of clothes shopping so I was really ready to get to a weight and stay there.

I had vertigo once for about 2 days and it was awful. I never knew why and it hasn't happened again. I hope you are rid of it or whatever it soon.

Good Morning - I'm only working until noon today cause I get to go have my annual "lady parts" appointment. Good times..... The only good part of it is my doctor is in Fresno (our biggest city) which means a trip to Trader Joes while I am there. I need new bras so I may run by Soma if I have time. I didn't get to start BBM last night so today it is. I will keep running 3 days a week and then do BBM the other days. 2peafaithful - put the @ sign and then their screen name 2peafaithful and it will tag people.

How do you tag someone? Do tell! TIA I am off and running and grateful it is hump day. Oh yay!!! I love when I see a number I haven't seen before - I saw the same thing this morning!! YAY!! And to tag someone - you use the @ symbol and then the persons username. So for me @ brandy327 without the space. Some people's user names are not the same as their screen name...all you have to do is hover your mouse over their screen name and their username will be shown.

Brandy- I forgot to add this because I was trying to do the tag thing but maybe I can figure it out. I hope it isn't veritgo. Don't push yourself! YOu did the run! Girl you are dedicated! I had vertigo once for about 2 days and it was awful. I never knew why and it hasn't happened again. I hope you are rid of it or whatever it soon. Thanks, my friend!! The vertigo issues seem to have resolved themselves a little while after my workout. I really think it has to do with being tired and not sleeping great for several days. I've only had it once too - and that was more than enough. My dh had it badly for 4 or 5 days...so bad that he couldn't go to work. When he went back, he said he had SUCH a hard time on the highway when he'd have to do the exit ramps that went in a circle. It would instantly put him into the spinning...he figured out that he had to focus on one single point and the spinning would stop. I felt awful for him...especially after I had it and could really understand how horrible it was.

The closest Trader Joe's to my house is an hour and 10 mins away, in the same town that my dh works. They have some stuff I really want to give a try - like the already riced cauliflower. I'm thinking after the kids go back to school I'm going to make a trip there to look around. I've been there a few times but it's been probably a year. Good luck with your appt!! I just had mine in May.
