I never stopped using brads and I've even pulled out some eyelets recently. Me, too! I actually thought I had gotten rid of all of my eyelets only to find them and my silent setter hiding in my closet! I may have use them for old times sake! I've always loved eyelets.

Daisy D was one of my very favorite. I hoarded all those pages and still hate to use them. Sometimes I just sit and look at them I loved Daisy D's. I have some paper of theirs that is pink and sage green with rosebuds and it is adorable. Saved it for when I had a little girl so I could use it in her album, now I need to find just the right page for it.

I have one Christmas paper that has silver bells on it and I have the perfect page in mind, but want to do it justice.

I love most of my "old" stuff. I never was very good with eyelets, but I love brads. Some of them are so cute and add just the right touch to a page. I still use my clunky red Sizzix and my thick, heavy dies if they go with my page.
As many have said it is all about what we like on our own pages, what makes us happy. I check out the trends but in order to learn new techniques and get ideas, not to follow what is considered "in" at the moment.
I am not a grandma but will be happy when that time of life is mine!

I still use my brads- sometimes they are just the right little addition.

I have not been scrapping for a long time (just a couple years) but I do enjoy using brads and buttons on layouts. I do not care about being "trendy" but I like to try or learn new techniques. I also love to see when something that was "out of style" comes back into style. Only a couple years into scrapping and I can tell (as others have commented) that almost everything old will come back into style.

I still use my original PL core kits. Totally not trendy but I paid for them so I'm going to use them.
