Okay, so the usual disclaimer: saw my GP on Thursday, have referrals/appointments for gyne and endocrinologist... Blood test results for everything are good, and my TSH is at 2.something/normal for the first time in years... Mid-thirties, history of kidney stones, and high BP but well controlled by meds... There's nothing emergent happening, just in pain and impatient about waiting for specialist appointments...lol I have lower abdo pain - a full/pressure feeling most of the time... I often feel bloated/have a hard stomach... When it gets really bad, it radiates up my back and into my chest... Not cardiac, and not even morphine can dull it unless I'm stoned right out... I'm not sure if it's something to do with my uterus/assorted girly bits, or if it's intestinal... There doesn't appear to be any connection to where I am in my cycle, or what food I have eaten... I only feel nauseated when the pain is at it's worst - from my experiences passing kidney stones, nausea comes along with severe pain for me... The only change in bathroom habits also only comes with the most severe pain, so I feel that any changes are a result if the pain - could be the cause of the pain, but I have no way of figuring that out... The only time I get some relief is when I have my period... I get the usual period pain, and I tend to not eat much due to cramps so it's hard to tell if the relief is from a change in my cycle or in my eating habits... I've read about endometriosis, PID, fibroids, and a variety of intestinal problems like Celiac, IBS, etc... None seems to be an 'ah-ha! that's it' type of thing... I know that any info I can pay attention to and track will help the doctors figure out what's causing all this... If anyone else has had similar symptoms, was there a certain little thing you notified or a pattern that helped your doctor diagnose you? Was there a non-standard test that uncovered something in your case? I'm desperate for anything that might get this closer to being resolved... I'm in the middle of a bad few days, morphine's not touching it, and I've slept a total of ten hours since Friday and am becoming unravelled...LOL Say or ask anything - hoping a brainstorming session of sorts might help me notice something I've overlooked or give a clue to what it might be... Thanks for reading the long vague post

Did your GP do an ultrasound? Is there a chance there is a cyst or a growth?

Uhhhhhhhhhh.... have they checked your gall bladder? You've sort of mentioned everything in the area but that.

Haven't Googled Crohn's, I'll take a peek at symptoms for that - thank you...
GP hasn't done an ultrasound yet - I asked about that specifically, and she said that she'd leave it to the colposcopy clinic (where I have a referral), to do that... The clinic is at one of the hospitals so they've got the equipment right there...
Haven't checked or considered my fall bladder... I dismissed it because I was thinking of symptoms a friend had when she would have gall bladder attacks, but I should take a peek at what all the symptoms are...
Thanks everyone - I know it's so vague I just wanted another pair of eyes to look at it, so to speak... I'm sure that if I could pinpoint some pattern or if I could be more specific with symptoms it will help them figure it out... Feel like "it hurts" isn't going to be much help...lol

I hope this is not what you have, but I know someone who had a lot of what you are describing and they found ovarian cancer when they finally did an MRI.

Could it be gallbladder? GB issues are very intermittent with no pattern but it sure does sound like it. If it is GB, an easy ultrasound will have you diagnosed in a very short time. Hope you get some answers soon!

I would be asking for a pelvic ultrasound. Could be an ovarian cyst or something gynaecological going on. I hope you find out soon.

Is this something new or has it been going on for a long period of time? You may want to chart your symptoms and cycle stuff to see if there is any correlation. Does it go on all the time or come and go? Sorry you are going through this, pain and uncertainty are no fun.
I agree that having tests to rule things out is a good start.
Just saw your post that it has been for 5 weeks. I think that lessens the endometriosis chances...which it kind of sounded like..

I vote for girly bits. Can you get to a GYN?

Uh, I hesitate to say this because I don't want to scare you. But honestly the first thing that popped into my mind was ovarian cancer. When's the last time you saw your gyn? I'd make an appt to see him/her ASAP. I sincerely hope I am WAY of base and that it's something "easy" like an intestinal issue or anything else other than what I said up there.

If you still are in that much pain and aren't sleeping, please go to the emergency room. They will start doing the other tests that need to be done today, rather than having you wait for various appointments. There is something seriously wrong if you are in that much pain, and it is time to find out the cause so that they can treat it. I think this qualifies as worthy of an ER visit and not leaving until you get some answers.

My friend had similar symptoms and they diagnosed her with Diverticulitis. She can't eat anything with seeds now or any gassy foods (broccoli, Cauliflower, beans etc) no nuts, sunflower seeds etc. Even fruit or vegetables with seeds will set her off. She had the bloating/full feeling and pain for days.
I hope it's nothing serious but I would echo going to the ER ASAP.

I HIGHLY recommend you STOP googling. You're only going to freak yourself out. It could be lots of horrible things.... Cancer included. It could also be lots of very treatable things... Including ones you have ruled out because your symptoms do not match exactly. It could be an alien baby growing inside your intestines.
The human body is weird... And people have different symptoms for the same conditions. Especially concerning pain in the abdominal region.

My first thought was gallbladder. The pain from that can make you pass out and wish you were dead. Or make you think you are dying. And yes, if the pain is so bad that morphine isn't helping, then you ned to go to the ER and get this figured out FAST. Waiting around for appointments is ridiculous.

I have no advice other than to encourage you to go to the hospital if your pain is that severe. Your body is sending a message and continuing to wait until specialists see you and conduct/read all tests just doesn't seem like a good idea. I'm sorry you are suffering, I really pray you have answers and feel better soon.

go to the ER please! they will do a CT scan and run other tests that day. I had similar symptoms and they found colitis through the CT scan. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon, GI issues seem to take forever and many tests to diagnose so I hope you find something soon ((hugs))

I feel so sorry for you, that much pain is awful to live with. I also vote for the emergency room. If you have not had a CT done, you should. I hope you get some relief soon.

Thanks for all the well wishes <3
I know Googling can be a bad thing, but the anxiety and frustration gets to me more than any worst case scenario does... I'm the kind of person that asks to be awake and watch during procedures - somehow it's more comforting (?) to me...
Cancer is the one that worries me, and I had a risk factor for uterine/cervical cancer so that's why I had been referred and seen at the colposcopy clinic... My last exam there was a year ago and I was all good so they sent me back to my GP for annual exams rather than their biannual specialty exams... I have a referral back and am just waiting on a date...
I think my GP has most of the bases covered - referrals, tests, etc... But because it's hard to tell if it's gyne related or intestinal/GI, I'm looking for that 'thing' that might narrow it down...
As far as going to the ER, I'm torn about that... While it would likely give some temporary pain relief, there's also the uncomfortableness of not being at home, able to walk around, etc... Mind you, if I was on iv pain killers not being at home probably wouldn't be a thought I was capable of having...lol As far as tests go, I'm not sure what they would do... When I went in for kidneys stones, sometimes they'd insist on and ultrasound and CAT, other times it was iv fluids, pain meds, and a referral/note to follow up with my nephrologist... Since I've been seen at the colposcopy clinic there already, and have a referral in again, I'm not sure they'd do more... I see my doctor again on Thursday so I'll ask her then about tests/hospital option... I myself am thinking that if my appt and test dates aren't soon, that I will take my chances with the ER and see if I can get some sort of test done there...
Thanks for sharing your experiences... It's oddly comforting to hear from real people (instead of doctors), what symptoms/diagnoses go together...
I'm not sure if anyone remembers but I have a friend who's dealing with a uterine/cervical(?) prolapse - she lost her mom/the one person she'd tell about something like this, but she finally broke down and told me... I would normally ask my real life gfs about my symptoms but I don't want there to to talk about what it could be etc - it would really freak out my friend who's dealing with the prolapse... She's extra fragile since loosing her mom and hearing talk of a bunch of what-ifs (even if it wasn't about her), would take a toll on her... I'm really grateful to have all you guys around to ask about this <3
