LOL sbartist! That could have been me in our old house which was TINY. It was crowded with the two of us, our little one, two BIG dogs and a little dog so we were constantly tripping over each other! The house we're in now gives us a lot more breathing room. My studio is down in the basement with a door at the top of the stairs that I usually leave open so the little dog can come and go.
DH is pretty good about not bugging me when I have stuff I need to do, but DD wants to be attached to me at the hip 24/7. I'm hoping that someday soon she will realize how much more "fun" DH is so she will want to hang out with him a little more and leave me alone once in a while! I adore the kid, don't get me wrong, but the 14 hour days of childcare week in and week out get pretty old after a while! I haven't been doing a good enough job of making time for myself, but that will change when I can feel good about having people come over to scrap.

I work from home and my home office is also my scrap room. Generally at the end of a work day I just want to get out of the office. So, I end up being a sporadic scrapper...generally a quarterly weekend crops with a group of friends. Or, once a month when I need to do a project for a paper club I am in at our LSS.

The biggest thing holding me back from scrapping right now is rheumatoid arthritis. :-(. Prior to the last week or so, I had some awesome scrapping momentum going on, then it rained. Since I have a severe case of RA, if it even thinks about raining, I hurt. Well the past week or so, it has either rained or threatened to rain, so I haven't been able to do much besides watch tv; and it kills me not to be able to scrap. I was able to get to Michael's today, because DS needed something for school. I bought a cute 6x8 PL binder to organize my Citrus Twist and Scraptastic stamps. And I've been reading the first issue (January) of Create magazine, but that's been the extent of my craftiness. Chronic pain is a b*tch! It isn't suppose to rain for a few days, so hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow and can get dome things done. If I wasn't in so much pain, I would finish editing and ordering some pics, then I'd get to work on the "Killing It" challenge over on the challenge board. I have a kit all picked out to "kill," so hopefully it will be dead by Monday. Lol Sorry to hear about your RA craftygamer. Here's hoping for some good weather so you can get working on that kit!

I think my big problem is sorting through photos and downloading them to be printed. It's such a pain, but such a necessity. I have at least six months' worth to go through and pick from and it feels overwhelming. (My DH is a bit of an "overtaker" when it comes to photos!)

Mystie, that's me! I used to stay on top it, but am now 1-3 years behind. I feel I need to do the chore before play time. Instead, I'm procrastinating on both. Crazy!

I agree - for me it's the photos. By the time I choose, edit, crop, etc, it seems like there's no time for actually scrapping. Hope to get faster at that part soon.

There are really only 2 things that hold me back
Time and Space.
I work a lot of hours and simply don't have much time for scrapping. When I do have time, I don't have much space. I don't have a dedicated craft room, my scrapping takes place at the kitchen table and there isn't a lot of room.

I blame my job. It's pretty slow here most days and so I do a ton of searching for inspiration on the internet all day and can't wait for the day to end so I can go scrap at home. Then I get home and lose all ambition and end up watching TV or reading a book. As someone else said, it's pure laziness that is keeping me from scrapping.

Except, then I get home and people want to cook dinner and where I scrap is the kitchen peninsula. Can't they just nuke something!

Time holds me back. I wish I could just add another hour or two to the day and it would be perfect for fitting in some creative time.
The other thing that holds me back is the fact I have to sleep. I am more creative at night but since my scrap space is in the bedroom I'm never able to scrap when I am in the mood. There isn't any other spot in my 850sqft apartment for me to move my desk to.

- 8 hours a day working x 5 days a week + commuting time...
- cooking/cleaning/errands
- weekend activities with family & friends are great, but they often leave me no time to scrap

Wow, can't believe there are so many like me struggling to scrap. I blame: 1. Guilt -- When I do scrap, I feel I should be doing something less selfish. When I don't scrap, I feel I'm wasting time I could be scrapping. 2. I'm a morning person, after about 3 p.m. I'm useless. Since I go to work 5 days a week and church 1 day - in the morning - that means by the time I have time to scrap, I'm useless. 3. When my room is messy, I can't be in it. So I can't scrap until it's functional (not completely clean, but at least I can walk around and there is a 12x12 clear space on the desk). 4. When I'm unhappy, I can't scrap. I've been unhappy a lot lately due to family issues. 5. Sometimes I'm just overwhelmed by the quantity of supplies I have to pick from. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by the vast amount of photos/memories/stories I would like to scrap. Being overwhelmed immobilizes me.

Thanks anniefb, I appreciate the thought. It's supposed to rain all weekend, but I'm hoping to feel good enough to get some scrapping done. Sometimes I just get so fed up with the pain that I just do what I want and deal with the pain later. I feel one of those attitudes coming on. Lol

No mojo right now. I want to but I'm stuck on a page I'm doing for my daughters wedding and just can't think of a good title for the groomsmen page.

Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by the vast amount of photos/memories/stories I would like to scrap. Being overwhelmed immobilizes me. A lot of these reasons apply to me, as well! #2 and #3, for sure. And #4, totally-- I am a 'good mood' scrapper, too. I can't scrap if I'm in a bad mood, or if something is going wrong. I know some people say that being crafty will put them into a good mood, but for me, when I'm in a bad mood (or sad, or depressed, or whatever) and I try to scrap or craft, things go wrong, I get too critical, and it goes to heck. So I only scrap when I'm in a good mood.

This is me... If there's 'unrest' about something, I feel like I should be 'fixing' or at least working on that instead of 'wasting my time' scrapping... Even if I've been working at something all day and it makes sense to balance that out with something relaxing and pleasant, I have a hard time getting past the feeling that I'm having fun while other things still aren't done/fixed...
The other psychological thing for me is that I haven't done anything exciting in a couple years... It's been a long haul of stuff and sometimes scrapping old photos feels more like a chore to get caught up on... I try to take pics of those good 'everyday' moments, but you can only scrap so many cups of coffee...lol I don't have kids and I worry about how many LOs of my cat people will find when I'm gone, so just finding subject matter/photos to use can be a challenge...
I'm really lucky space, supplies, and time wise - it's just a head space thing for me...

My job interferes with my real life. When I get home from work, my brain is exhausted. If I sit down in front of the TV, I'm done. If I finish with supper and then go straight to my desk, I can usually get at least one page done in the evening. Scrapbooking makes me feel close to my loved ones (they live thousands of miles away). When I finish a page, I show it to DH and we almost always have a few minutes of reminiscing. I just love scrapbooking.

I am kind of the opposite, I get unhappy if I can't scrap. I need that 'me' time. Sharing a small living space will do that, especially after having dedicated space before we moved.

Correcting photos. I like to correct photos by event. It seems to take a long time.

Wow, good to read so many are similar to me! I've been in most of those positions (no RA, but really bad back flare ups that keeps me from sitting = no scrapping)
Wanted to add a vote for GUILT - should be doing something as a family to earn the memories LAZY - after work, shut down with IPAD/TV on the couch.
I am my most productive on staycations. We have time to keep the home/family-ball rolling, get out for activties, and then I feel "free" to scrap.

my scrapbook room is packed up and turned into a bedroom for a few weeks while I have family visiting. With 4 little boys and their mom, sometimes their dad, I should find plenty to do, though. I will work on getting photos of them.

I am THISCLOSE to finishing a project for a non- profit dental clinic. I volunteered to do their scrapbook albums for 20 years in business. I have been telling myself ANY scrap time I have HAS to go to that.... and it has. BUT I also do mixed media art journaling (started this year) I am 10 weeks behind in challenges... again, because I told myself any creative time HAs to go to above project. Then dh and I were talking yesterday- he asked "why have you not just done it- (I've had it for 8 months)... Lazy. Tired. (not talking about dh right here) I said I like to scrap in front of the TV- I have a bedroom devoted to scrapbooking and out of 1/3 of it- I work from home. MY back is to my pretty insanity -- so I don't get TOO distracted- but at lunch time I will sneak over and straighten or re-pile something before I go eat. So he offered to put the TV & satallite in my office- I told him I'd be afraid I would watch TV and not WORK (for a living) AND my scrap table is too small and the configuration isn't working as well as I'd like. But not sure how to fix THAT little ditty Sooooo my excuses....... 1) lazy 2) tired 3) had to finish a volunteer project first 4) room is not working effectively 5) it's a mess 6) TV or no TV THAT IS THE QUESTION!!!!

6) TV or no TV THAT IS THE QUESTION!!!!Definitely TV. I have a TV in my studio now but it's an ancient old one the the former owners of our house left here for us (they asked us if we wanted it). It's better than nothing but not by much, LOL. I talked about getting another Wii or Apple TV for down there so DD can watch her shows on Netflix or on DVD down there while I'm working. DH said when my room is done we'll find money in the budget for a new smart TV for me. I don't really watch a lot of TV though I do sometimes turn it on for background noise. A friend just got a Internet enabled smart TV and she LOVES it. She said, "Pinterest is SO much more fun on a 46" screen!" I could be in real trouble there!

I'm definitely in a funk right now. Too busy with my job, trying to keep up with housework, spending time with my daughter before school starts, and now my grandma is here visiting from TX-- I have plenty of beautiful pictures, just no motivation to do anything with them. I'd rather relax and read or catch up on my shows when I do have the time. And lately I've been working on a blanket I'm crocheting for my 6 year old. I've finally reached the halfway point-- did I mention I started this blanket about 5 years ago, ugh!

My desk of doom. It's always a mess. Or, it;s a mess a good 95% of the time, anyway. It is where all paper lands...bills, kid drawings, health forms, sports forms, coupons, school papers, etc. Also, any non-scrapping project I am currently working on lands there, too. And unless I have a good chunk of desk available to work, I just don't scrap.
