pork/beef roasts before cooking in slow cooker? I always do before cooking in regular oven, but am about to try a pork roast in slow cooker. That Six Sisters recipe sounds great!

I don't. They say it will give your finished product a better flavor but in my universe, having to pull out a pan and brown something on the stove before putting it in the crock pot TOTALLY DEFEATS THE PURPOSE of the crock pot.

I sear if I am doing a roast - beef or pork - in the pressure cooker but I have never seared for the crockpot or slow cooker. I can't imagine it would make a difference for either of those. I have found that it does produce a better tasting meat when using the pressure cooker.
