I would pick one or two of the more neutral tones in the tile (looks like some cream and warm grays) and do the paint/counter top in those colors.

There is something about the counter I like ... I'd keep it, and go gray or all white LOL

I kinda like the pink! I agree with changing out the brass though.

Embrace that counter! I love it.
I would paint the walls a neutral color. A cool beige with no red tones. Frame in the mirror . So many options there. Add some better lights. Change the hardware to a neutral finish Dark cherry towels and throw rugs.
Or go white Still frame that mirror. Find warm gold fixtures. And warm pink linens.

If you have plans for a complete remodel in the future, I would just paint the existing vanity a dark gray (picking up on the darkest tone/shade in the tile) and paint the counter top white to match the existing trim color. I would paint the walls the softest, barely there gray and change out the light fixture, faucets and knobs. If you have a little more money to spend now I would put it into a white counter top - nothing with a pattern.

What about using tile paint until you are ready to redo the bathroom. Paint the tile neutral, put in a new countertop and change out the fixtures for brushed nickel Tile paint won't last for ever, but paint is cheap and you won't have to live with it

I'd embrace it and have fun with it until I could afford to redo it properly ... including the brass (which is actually coming back in, believe it or not). Change out the light fixture to a vintage-style brass one and go to town.

I'm going to stick my neck out here. I actually don't have the hate for this bathroom that most here do. I would definitely switch out the faucets and drawer/door knobs to pewter or whatever the light fixture is. Other than that, I find the overall feel of the room to be kind of peaceful and pleasant. ETA: I just re-read your OP and noticed that you're saying that the pink in the tile is so dark it's more red . My laptop definitely doesn't pick that up, so maybe you shouldn't listen to my opinion.

As pink br go, that is one of the nicest I have seen. Dd had one so we were always looking for a cure without a lot of expense. The best colors we found were grey and cranberry. I wish I had a pic for you.

I can't believe how many people would go with a dark countertop. For a bathroom that is actually going to be used I would never want a dark color on my counter. I can envision it constantly splattered with water, toothpaste, makeup, etc. and it would be a bear to keep it looking clean. We have white in ours (we bought the house that way), and I would never choose that again either for that same reason. It always looks like crap. Even when it's clean it doesn't look that way because we have hard water that always, always leaves water spots everywhere.

AND after doing granite in one bath and one counter/sink piece in another-- all one piece is so much easier to keep clean... and I do like the gold with the pink the tile I could go without. I would Lily Pulitzer the heck out of that bath focusing on the pink counter

If this were my bathroom, I would only change the fixture colors to chrome or brushed nickel and countertops to white. I love the granite that looks like marble. In the case of your bathroom, I would pick a marble looking pattern that was very light and subtle. I would also save money by spray painting the fixtures/hardware. I have spray painted my front door hardware and it has worn very well over the years.

(Am I the only one who dreads opening threads like this and finding a photo of something that looks like their home? For the record, this looks nothing like mine, lol, but the term "dated" does apply to my master bath for sure!)

You all are so great! Thank you for so many ideas! And thank you @malleykat for those pics because I have a hard time picturing things in my head. And I love the Save the Pink Bathroom link haha. Funny thing is this pink bathroom is no more than 10 years old! Here are a couple more photos so you can see how the current homeowner loves the pink (she built the house so she chose it).

I like the pink! I would paint the walls a silver/grey, change the mirror and fixtures and glam it out!

Oh please get rid of the triple mirror thing. That will give you a nice shelf.

All of that brass has to go. I'd go with brush nickel. I like either the second or third of the pics MalleyCat did. I'd frame the mirror in the same color of the cabinets.

Our first house had a pink main bath. They previous owner has changed the tub and surround to grey. But the sinks and toilet and walls were still pink! I played up the pink with pink and white plaid towels. I would lose the countertop for sure - go with something inexpensive - check Home Depot or Lowe's. You can get inexpensive countertops in a light color. Change the light fixture and faucets but get something you can reuse when you do finally take the pink tile out. OR just keep it all and play it up - pink poodle crocheted toilet paper cover - pink towels - pink or white fluffy rug.

Here are a couple more photos so you can see how the current homeowner loves the pink (she built the house so she chose it). I don't understand that alcove area above part of the tub. It looks like it's placed awkwardly. ETA: Oh! It's a mirror! I'd take that down.

Our house came with a bathroom like that. We tore it all out and started over, doing the work ourselves to save money. On a budget you could paint the walls a color you love, cover the tile with wood bead board (you can glue it directly to the tile) and top with trim. Put spar varnish over it all to waterproof. Then replace the vanity top with granite. Assuming it is a standard size you could get something off the shelf at Home Depot or lowes for a reasonable price. Then replace gold fixtures with brushed nickel. If the floor needs replacing, high quality sheet vinyl is a good short term option that won't break the bank. Most baths are small so it might not cost all that much.
Good luck. Congrats on the new house

Wow. That's a lot of brass and pink. The pink tile doesn't even come close to blending with the pink countertop.

I'll be the odd one out and say to go with one of the other neutrals in the tile color for painting the walls, more along the tan/beige/cream/ivory lines. To me, the warmth of the colors in the tile doesn't feel right with the cool tones of grays. If you used a warm neutral then you could play up the red tone in the tiles as an accent color (wine, merlot, burgundy, etc.). (Gee, is it 5 o'clock or something? I seem to have wine on my mind, LOL!) I agree with this. While gray complements the pink, I think warmer colors will tone down the pink. Natural marble has a tendency to blend with a variety of color tones. For paint, maybe a linen or oatmeal color, and walnut brown for the cabinetry. That color pallette would bring the entire room back to neutral, and you could accent with just about anything from there. I like the idea of touches of "merlot" as an accent color too.

All of the suggestions for grey make sense to me. The other thing I thought of is, if you can find a color in the existing tile that is a dark red, paint the walls that color. It would be very unusual and could look great. I'd change out (or spray paint) those fixtures; that alone should make a good amount of difference. Only if she doesn't do her makeup in there...the cast from the red would be awful. Good point. I'm no good at decorating, but my mom is. She has a bathroom that is painted a very deep, dark red/pink, and it's beautiful. But it's not where she puts on makeup, lol!

I think I would pick up a few of those paint sample cards (that match the tile you'll have left) at HD or Lowe's and tape it on the wall in the bathroom and live with it for a couple weeks to see what you like. It seems like when I do that, there's always one color that jumps out at me that I end up liking. New hardware will look great too.
