Our youngest DS is 6ft tall, Just turned 14. He needs new jeans. He was wearing a 29x32. From hollister. The 32's come right to his ankle this yr. So we need something longer. The 29 fits, but is a little snug, So we need to move up to a 30 waist. The 30 is even a little big, so this will give him plenty of room if he grows a bit. He wears them more down on his hips, that is why he needs a 30. if he didnt, a 28 or 29 would work.... but we can not find any long enough! I am having trouble finding jeans that are a 30 x 34. Hollister had none in store. So I thought no problem, I will just order online. The only color they come in a 34 in is very, very light blue. He is not going to want those. he like the darker washed Jeans. I even went online to kohls and Penney's and looked at Levi's, he likes the 511's in a 30 waist, looks like they only come in a 32 long. ugh. Our older DS had none of these issues. He is 6' 1", at age 20, and still only wears 32 for length. The 14yr old is just ALL LEGS!
So moms of Tall Skinny kids.... Where do you buy your kids' jeans at??? And we are looking for Skinny Jeans or Slim Straight Jeans. THANKS!

My boys aren't quite that tall. We found a good variety of choices at Kohl's.
One day we were just outside the men's dressing room and my son found a pair of skinny jeans. The were a much brighter blue than he would wear, but took them back for fun. He came out and they were way too short, but he paraded them around and kept telling his brother how comfortable they were. We all had a giggle at him in skinny jeans and then he looked at the tag. They were women's stretch pants. I have saved that picture on my phone for days I need to laugh.

my ds is 6'4 and thin as a rail, and he buys all his jeans at american eagle I was afraid they would be too expensive, But I just looked and they are not bad. With the sale they have going, they will be more than the hollister jeans, but less than Levi's! I am going to run him up to the mall tomorrow to try some on. Looks like even in a 28 and 29 waist they come in 34 and 36 length. THANK YOU!!!!

Mom of 6'2" DS with 28 waist. 30 of some brands/with belt. Belts are your friend.
I love summer and warm weather when it comes to clothing him. Shorts are so much easier.
I've found some at Target but I search by size and buy most online. Seems if stores carry that size you have to be the first mom-of-tall-stork-like-boy there as they carry few and are gone if one of the other moms-of-tall-stork-like-boys get there first.
Good luck!
ETA If you are not opposed to resale stores, try there, too. My DD found 5-6 pairs for DS in one store on the same day. Paid $2-4 per pair. I think they come in waves as someone drops off all of the same size one person has outgrown or is getting rid of. It was seriously like a nice little pants windfall!

I will check target. As for resale... I have not looked much for him at those places. We use to look often for our older DS and DD and never would find any deals. Some of the resale shops around here want more for their jeans than I can get for new on sale. And we have tried places like goodwill and savers and everything seems to be out dated. I wish that was not the case, but it is.

Old Navy has 30/34 in both slim and skinny styles. My tall skinny teenager just wears regular though since I don't think he likes the tightness of the slimmer styles (but he's had clothing issues since he was a toddler...).
PS - they are on sale right now.

My 19 YO ds is 6'1 1/2" (Just measured him last week, lol). Buying pants for him was an utter nightmare. As you know, the longer lengths only come in the bigger waist sizes. I don't get these clothing manufacturers. Our two boys can't be the only one's with this problem, right?
You mentioned Hollister and that was the only place I found pants to fit my ds. He wears a 30 and wears them low on his hips so they are long enough. He doesn't wear shoes with a tall sole (Van's, flip flops, Converse, etc.). Can your ds stand to lower them a little without showing everything?

Our 14 year old is tall and thin too. Needs a 28 x 36 which is near impossible. Luckily, he usually wears shorts (which are a whole nother issue, long shorts aren't long enough), but for band he needed a pair of jeans. I ordered Levis online at kohls and they work.

We've also had luck at Old Navy on-line. My 20-year-old son has a 29/30 waist, but a 36 inch inseam and he's about 6'2". Pants can be a nightmare, we can't buy off the rack. Most stores only carry up to size 34 when you go to the mall. Good luck on your search!

Good luck! My nieces took ds18 clothes shopping this week and made him get a new wardrobe. He is super skinny with a bubble butt. He had to try on something like 50 pairs before finding one that fit. He was so frustrated.

My boys were/are tall and very thin. My 19 yo wears a 30 waist, 34 leg. Next to impossible to find in stores. Almost always a bigger selection of size ranges online. Needed dress pants for graduation for him, Kohls didn't have anything in store, but plenty online.
Actually my dd is tiny too like 00, but average height. She buys a specific jean for work from Target, but always needs to buy online as store never carries them in store.

Arizona brand from JCPenney has worked for DS - he's a 30x34. They seemed to have a few color options and are pretty inexpensive.

I had the same issue with both of my DS's. I can tell you that 30 is probably the smallest waist size you will find in a brick and mortar store, so if he can wear a 30, that's a good start. Surprisingly, Walmart and JC Penney both had good selections in this waist size with a longer inseam, like 34". In fact, Walmart carries pretty nice khakis in this size (DS needs them for band), and they are inexpensive. If I remember right, Kohl's carries some 30/34s, but anything in a 30 waist seems to sell out there immediately.

A few have already mentioned American Eagle. That's where I have to get my son's jeans. Sometimes I have to order them online, but if they don't fit you can take them back to the store.

My 6' and stick skinny grandson gets his pants and jeans at American Eagle. Sometimes he can find pants he likes at Vineyard Vines, but they're hit or miss for him.

American Eagle and other online stores. My son was very tall at 14, and very skinny. He was in 29x36. They are super hard to find, but 30x36 is a little easier. He just turned 16 a few days ago and he can now wear 32x36, which is much easier to find! I can even find it at Kohl's B&M!
You really have to just google size. Since you're still in 34 length, it's a lot easier. Kohl's definitely has 30x34. Once you hit 36 length, you can forget about having choice.
I won't even get into my son's size 15 shoes! Soccer players do not have big feet!
Also, Levi's run long. My son can wear a 32x34 in Levi's while most of his 36 length pants just fit. He does have to wear khakis to school, so maybe they run differently in size.

You can order from their website and return directly to the store. I also was able to order longer shorts for them from AE

I got all excited and checked American Eagle, and sure enough they have jeans that would fit my tall-and-skinny boy! But then I saw the prices, and dang, y'all are rich if you think the cheapest pair of jeans ($39.95) is "not too bad." Reality check! I'm bummed out again.
DS wears a belt to keep his 30x32 pants up. He really needs 29x32, but that does not exist in truly affordable stores.

Dont know if that's in your price range, but we've had good luck with that brand fitting DS well. Eta: Kohls has them for the same price.

I've had good luck with JcPenneys Arizona brand for DS. I've found 30-34 in store and just ordered him 30-36 online (which also has 29-32 for the person that said they need that size). They're on sale right now buy 1 get 1 for a penney plus 15-20% off depending how you pay. Basically under $40 for two pairs of jeans. They've held up well too.

I order online at American Eagle or Old Navy, they both carry 29x34 and 30x34. My 12 yr old grew so much last year, I was buying new jeans every few months. His waist stayed the same, but I had to keep getting them longer. And, I think he's still growing, we'll see what this year's like. He'll be wearing shorts for as long as possible

I have a VERY tall DH (6'8"), and our boys are both very tall for their age, and I am COMPLETELY sold on Lands End pants. You can order custom length, and for the first time in a very long time they all have pants, and jeans that actually fit properly. They are a little pricey, but I only buy when they have a good coupon, I do a big order to make sure we get free shipping. If we make a mistake on size, no big deal.... I just return them to my nearest Sears for a full refund.

American eagle has them. Sometimes you have to order ibline, but they often have them in Stock as well.
My 6 foot 126 pound lid has the same problem. He does have to wear a belt

I have a skinny kid, and for fit he likes Vans jeans (not sure if you can get them in a 34 inseam though, mine doesn't need that long), and Levi's 511 which come in a lot of colors and sizes. They're "slim fit" but definitely NOT skinny jeans.
