I really was bummed to see this side of someone I once liked so much. Oh well. Time has come for me to stop being bummed and to move on from this whole debacle. Hope this was worth it to her. Yes exactly. I really liked her. Even after she had her meltdown here. I was able to calmly look past it. Now I'm just sad that thinking it wasn't just a one time meltdown. I just don't see her in the same light anymore and I can't get past that. I know most of you are still angry with her and have written her off. But I haven't and it's just disappointing how she is dealing with this.

I can't say I"m exactly angry. But I did always get a "bless her heart" vibe from Tracie. In that way that some people say that, when it really means "i'm gonna say something awful about someone, but then I'm gonna add 'Bless her heart' as if that makes it all OK".

T.C. is not professional and demonstrates a level of immaturity. You don't see real scrapbooking business women commenting on message boards, bad mouthing the people whose business you want nor criticizing companies products. I'm sure they do have their own strong opinions, but they are wise enough to keep them to themselves.

Recently Tracie had posted something to the effect of do Suzie Scrapbookers know they're missing out on all the current scrappy goodness and how can she get them to see the error of their old-fashioned ways, on her podcast, of course, because she's" helpful" like that. Of course, that wasn't the way Tracie actually worded her post but that was the message that came thru loud and clear in the tone of her post. And of course, she wasn't ragging on Suzie Scrapper, oh no not at all, she genuinely wanted to "help" the Suzies of the world, bless her heart.
When other posters on her original post responded that TC's post sounded condescending it seemed TC really didn't comprehend that it could be construed that way. I thought she was being purposefully obtuse since I found it hard to believe she didn't realize she was insulting and condescending to the very scrappers who are her intended target market and potential listeners. It was the stereotypical "southern genteel oh I didn't realize I was being difficult--butter wouldn't melt in my mouth card". From that point on, I've ignored any of her podcasts or self-professed insider certified teaching instructions. I'm doing just fine on my own, thankyouverymuch.
Fact of the matter, imho, Becky's video presentation was cringe-worthy and BH desperately needs to hire some media-savvy partners to help her not repeat this misstep of a launch. I remember years ago when she and Lisa Bearnson launched (then immediately withdrew) some sort of Coterie sb product line, This isn't the first mess-up for Becky and I'm sure it won't be the last. Becky's been in the sb world for nearly two decades: she doesn't need anyone to defend her or prop her up, and I'm reasonably certain BH doesn't need any fan-girl "help". Scrapbookers will decide for themselves and vote with their wallets as to whether or not wrapping paper constitutes a "home" product. I don't know why anyone would step in to handslap anyone else for having opinions while expressing an opinion of their own (the hypocrisy of that sort of behavior is astounding).
This forum provides valuable (and free) marketing research to those wise enough to use it to their advantage. I'm sure Becky and her company is seeing these posts and planning their next presentation tailored to some of the opinions they've seen here. Some companies pay good money for focus groups research and surveys: BH can find it here for free. And so can Tracie. I don't understand posting cr*p on someone else's VM-site. I guess when you fling and throw stuff, you want to keep it off your own hands. I've seen something I can't un-see, true colors, so thanks for the wake-up call. It's such a bummer when my rose-colored glasses fail me, but it's the reality of the situation. Thanks to this fiasco, I know where I will (and won't) be spending my hard-earned scrapdollars. It won't be on supporting podcasts or overpriced wrapping paper, thanksbutnothanks.
And courtesy of seeing the term "the vapors" in reference to all of this mess, I have the song "I Think I'm Turning Japanese" on perma-loop in my head.

Some companies pay good money for focus groups research and surveys: BH can find it here for free. Exactly. Do you know how much work it is to dig the data a board like this one provides in clean and clear threads? It's literally something that takes hours and hours and days to get through following up hashtags, convos, etc. As pointed out by many before: this is a free-of-charge straight-to-the-point argumented report for the strategy team. Either be grateful or ignore it, but don't start playing the moral accuser. Anyhoo, looking forward to MOAR Becky Higgins Home products 'cause I'm a curious cat like that. By Becky Higgins. For the Home. Or whatever the redundant twisted phrasing was... @juliehenry4 So many flashbacks to when Marc Jacobs launched his humorous take on the ridiculousness of fashion marketing gone overboard loco-style:

Tracie clearly knows this board's value. She used us as market research and contributory content on her show many times. Many times she and Tiffany have said "I was reading on twopeasrefugees" right on the show.
This makes her dismissive attitude even more weird.

I found the infamous Stone wrap at my Tuesday Morning. I'm going to see if it really is as awesome as reported.

Did anyone notice BH did a video on "Social Media"? Didn't watch it, but the timing was interesting - to say the least. If anyone did watch it, wondering if she commented on: when does sharing become oversharing, etc.

Verdict on the Stone Wrap: It's great! It's great for $3.99 no shipping at my Tuesday Morning. The next time I'm there, I'll pick up the three other patterns they had. I won't pay $7.99 plus shipping, but I will buy it again for $3.99 no shipping.

I will have to check this out! Thanks for the review! Since this is getting more popular, decided to check it out. Yes, it's made from "stone" aka calcium carbonate, but also plastic. www.wired.com/2013/02/stone-paper-notebook/

I hope they don't start using it for scrapbooking products.

Polyethylene components breaking free in the air, in the ocean and sea waters, no thanks. And another way of using up petroleum when it's not infinitely available. Just one more story about making something with plastic ingredients sound "healthy" and eco-friendly. Ugh.

Becky used it to decorate her silverware drawer, not sure I would want it near food. Also she framed it to hang on the wall, wonder if it will fade?

Was her latest announcement a big deal? I don't get them, but I saw some hype on the Scrap Gals FB regarding some big news that ended up being nothing. Something about a scanner?

It looks like Becky on IG put something out that she was going send out an e-mail that could be considered contriversial. It ended up being about a scanner and one day she just may scan her older layouts and then throw them away. I'm not signed up to her e-mails and I quit her IG awhile back.
Is that the story now? Buy my stuff, use it, scan it with a $500.00 scanner I'm promoting and then throw my stuff away? Huh? Anyone get the e-mail?
