Healing thoughts for you and your son. I know how very scared you must be but I have personally seen quite a few young people need surgery for similar reasons and usually they sail right through with flying colors because they are so young, so take heart that all is not lost even if he needs open heart surgery. It sounds like he's in a very good place to get treatment in that area.
As far as praying goes, I'm not much of one, but I find that if you're torn about what to wish for then it seems to help to pray for the peace and strength to handle whatever life gives you rather than specific requests. ((Hugs))

I can only imagine the ache in your heart, and the terror that would be gripping you at the thought of losing your son! I will pray for you, and him.
About what to pray- God will take whatever you give him. He wants to be with you as you want to be with your child.
In one of Beth Moore's bible studies, she spoke of a group of women raising their kids together. At some point, or of the kids suddenly died. In referencing the funeral, she said all the moms who *didnt* lose their child were absolute basket-cases with grief, yet this woman who lost her child was able to remain calm even at that moment. Beth said as she was praying later- pouring her heart out to God how she feared it would happen to her, and how she couldn't bear the thought of losing one of her own children, that God spoke to her and said He gives us each the grace we need for our own lives. We can't imagine being in someone else's sorrow, because we haven't been given their measure of grace.
So, as I lift you up in my prayers, I'll pray that you are sustained by His amazing grace, and that you will know what you can & should do, and when. That He will protect your son, and hold you both close.

The dilemma I am having in praying is that I KNOW I should just accept God's will, but I so selfishly want Daniel to be okay. So I am torn on that being wrong to ask for things to go "my way" instead of just accepting whatever the outcome may be. Does that make sense? Not sure this will make sense, but I will try. I think at some point we pray for things to go our way and there is nothing wrong with that. Right now, accepting God's will is hard, because you don't know what it is. For me, I pray that things will turn out the way I want, but I know if the outcome is not what I want, I will have peace and accept it as God's will. My prayers will include your family and all the medical personnel that attend to your son.

Prayers sent for your son. Don't worry, he will pull thru just fine - don't entertain any other alternative thoughts. By the way, my son who is now 16 has a congenital bicuspid aortic valve and is monitored regularly for stenosis. The medical advances just in his 16 years are amazing, don't worry.

My sister had aortic stenosis since birth and ended up having repair surgery in 2006 when she was 30 years old. It's amazing how much the surgery helped her. It will be ok if he needs to have surgery. He's got an awesome mom looking out for him. Hugs to you both! carol
