I am very rarely dizzy. Last night I woke up a couple times while rolling over in bed and was so dizzy I felt nauseous. Which also never happens...stomach of steel here. It happened 3-4 times before my alarm went off. I was a bit dizzy walking around first thing after getting up. It was worse when I closed my eyes.
No new meds. Took my blood pressure and it's normal. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon (regular check up that was previously scheduled).
I feel pretty normal now, but not 100%. Not sure if it's residual dizziness or just my imagination.

I have on rare occasion. Usually it seems to happen when my allergies are starting to act up and I haven't gone into preventative overdrive yet. And a couple of times, it seems like I've had a small stomach bug - not enough to be a puking mess or anything, but where things are off and I have extra bathroom trips.
Hope everything is just fine. It's kind of "nice" that you already had a doctor's visit scheduled - that can help your peace of mind!

Well, I was going to suggest you check your blood pressure but see you've already done that. I would check it again while laying down, sitting and standing to make sure its regulated.
I have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and get dizzy during the night when I change positions. It's usually because my blood pressure drops when raising up to turn over, then returns to normal.
Glad you have an appointment and can ask about it. Hopefully its nothing!

Before I began blood pressure pills I used to wake up like that all the time. Closed my eyes and lots of pretty colors. You said you took your BP and it was normal but was that after you had taken your pills. Hope your Dr can tell you what's going on. Please update us

Only when I have a vertigo episode going on. Eta, what you describe is exactly how vertigo affects me. Let us know what happens when you see the doc

Yes and that's when I know I'll be getting a full-blown migraine in a few hours. I also never had stomach issues, but would wake up nauseous and dizzy for about 2 years daily every other week.
After normal blood work, MRIs, CAT scans and EEGs, we are left with migraines as an explanation. While not ideal and not enjoyable, we are now playing the "what meds work for me" game. Getting any relief has been wonderful, though, and I hope you find some, too!

Only when I have a vertigo episode going on. Veritigo was my first thought or an ear infection. My dad has occasional fainting spells that they've never been able to pinpoint the cause, but waking up dizzy & nauseous usually precede his fainting. They think it might be linked to low blood pressure and/or blood sugar.

What did your doctor say about it? Hopefully, it's just a fluke and not an ongoing issue.

Only when I have a vertigo episode going on. I was going to suggest vertigo as well. My Mom used to have really bad bouts with it.

She thinks it might be anemia/low iron. I am having a never ending period (hello turning 50) for the past couple months and it's been really bad the past couple weeks. Waiting for a blood draw now and scheduling a pelvic ultra sound. She's also having me start iron supplements and monitor my BP on a regular basis.

I also had vertigo right after I had my oldest son. It turned out that is was simply low iron and taking some iron pills resolved the issue within 24 hours. I hope that's all it is for you, which sounds likely as a never-ending period would certainly deplete your iron. Lisa

Sometimes I am dizzy with no pinpointable cause. I often suspect I've just moved my head wrong and upset my inner ear balance, or otherwise had something weird in my field of vision that just throws me off. But the laying down dizzy is the worst.
That said, if the iron doesn't help or it comes and goes despite the iron, I'd also check the side effects list on your meds. Dizziness is a possible side effect of almost all of mine, including my BP med, so as long as it's just fleeting, I also sometimes chalk it up to a bad day with the meds.
