Yes, I'm still playing. I collect whatever is available (Pidgey spam!) and save everything to evolve when I use a lucky egg. Those double points really to a long way toward a new level. I'm level 22, and have even taken over a couple of gyms in our area. (Says the person who never participated and resented the family's gaming obsessions.) It's fun to see what new Pokemon you find outside of your own area. I stayed at San Diego harbor recently, and got lots of water Pokemon. My newest catch is an Onix. I still don't have a Charmander, but I see its shadow nearby every now and then. Someday... That Charmander is a tease! I have found and hatched (from 2 km eggs!) both Squirtle and Bulbasaur, but no Charmander.

Still playing. DH and I are very competitive so I think that is what drives us. We can't get any spawns at our house, but we can use the tracker for things close by (sometimes...when it works). There was a Snorlax in the number one spot on the tracker and I yelled, "Snorlax, mobilize!" We went and found him on the corner. Tracking does not seem to be working as well the past couple of days. He is dying for the buddy update. My Pokedex is 121/121, but some of them are real duds! DS said that there are a few that are country-specific so it's not possible to fill the pokedex. How did you get those? eta: just read that there are 151 total in the pokedex. There are a few that are area-specific, but people are downloading apps to get around that (and getting themselves banned in the process).

There are a few that are area-specific, but people are downloading apps to get around that (and getting themselves banned in the process). For the record, no spoofing or anything here! We live near the water so we have a lot of the water Pokémon, and DH is all about hatching eggs so we do ALOT of walking. We also have 2 places nearby that are loaded with Pokestops. Some have two and three that overlap, and people put lures on them, so that attracts them. I usually leave the game open sitting at my desk at work and if I see something interesting pop, I'll grab it, but I don't grab them all - I have to work! I've seen Onyx on the radar at work many times but have not been able to walk the campus to find him. Snorlax did show up at my desk one time, and again on the corner by our house so we ran out and got him. We got Charmeleon on a pier at the beach. I hatched a Chansey from an egg and Lickitung from an egg as well. There was a park near us that was a Magmar next, then it cycled to ElectraBuzz. There was also a Clefairy nest that we were able to visit a few times in the evening, but it has turned over to something else as well. We are in a Regional Facebook group for the game which has really helped with hunting.
I don't have Blastoise, and that annoys me. I have one little Wortortle just waiting to be evolved. My Venusaur was found in the neighborhood and is super low. I don't have the evolution of Graveler, or an Arcaine (DH does, though!). I do have two Gyrados that I captured in the wild. DH missed one, and was not with me when I got the other one. I also only have one Jynx.
So that's my little summary, but no spoofing here!

Also middle-aged, non-Pokémon, not even the first time round, but I've read through all this with fascination. It's like another language. It's English, Jim, but not as we know it.

You can do approximately 60 evolutions with a lucky egg so our family's strategy is to save up all evolutions until we hit 60 and then have a "pidgey party." Using this strategy, we're all at level 25. We're running out of lucky eggs though so it's going to be slow going to get to level 30 when we'll get more.
DH works by a river and walks at lunch and I walk at a local park with 2 lakes so we catch lots of magikarp. I finally evolved to the gyrados last week and dh got it last night.
DS still plays every other kind of pokemon as well and Pokemon Go is not well liked in the Pokemon world. He actually has a group of friends who are very competitive with the video game and they are plotting to go to the big competitions next year. I've heard rumblings that they're going to start a youtube channel too.

Level 26 with 128 in my Pokédex. I have to decide if I will continue playing if it means giving up my jailbreaks.

Can I just say I hatched a Kabuto today? With two hatched ones, I have enough candy to evolve a Kabutops.

Yep. One of ds' friends was permabanned and he can't even play with a new account. It allowed him to create a new account but it's just his character wandering aimlessly forever on the light green screen.

I'm ready to evolve my Wartortle and Rhyhorn (I'll wait until I drop my next egg) and I'm just a few candy away from evolving a Bulbasaur (caught my first one on the tram from the airport into Edinburgh). There's a Growlithe nest in a park near downtown so I have a CP 2140 Arcanine, and I've found Snorlaxes, Dragonites, and Aerodactyls in the most obscure places.
Jynxes are nuisance Pokémon here.

Wow, I have never seen a Jynx! I hatched mine. I heard you can get them at the beach, but we've not seen one yet! I cannot imagine them being a nuisance! Karp are plentiful here, but I still don't have 400. DH will likely have his 400 by the end of today.
Snorlax cracks me up where he appears. He likes the grocery store here, and Target. We got an Aerodactyl at the beach also. I am hoping for a better Ivysaur so I can evolve it into a better Venasaur than I have.
Pikachu just stopped by my desk a few minutes ago!

And it doesn't evolve. Every Jynx I've caught has been a huge pain to catch. I decided it's not worth it, especially if there are evolvable pokemon to catch instead.

There used to be a Jynx nest next to dh's work but it changed to a Magmar nest so both are nuisance pokemon for us, like the Taurus. I have only see one Aerodactyl and it ran after one raspberry/ultraball throw. I'm afraid I'll never see one again. I've hatched 3 Onyx and have over 100 Onyx candies because of it. I deleted one before I found out they evolve to something awesome in the next gen. One park I walk at is a Vulpix nest and the other is a Growlith nest so I have more high powered NineTails and Arcanines than anything (other than the various Eevee evolutions of course.)

I have hatched 3 Jynx and have seen 2 out and about- both 90+ miles away from any form of beach. And I haven't seen any on our river waterfronts either. I really want more Growlithes - have only seen 2- and caught them both, but I really want more. I also really want a Cubone- I have only seen one and couldn't catch it because I was passengering and we were flying down the highway. I did catch a 1000+ Dragonair last weekend, that was pretty exciting. I went a few weekends ago to a park that had several Charmanders- I think I caught 4. I need to look up where to get different Pokemon, my nephew and I like to go catching on the weekend and need some different ones.

Plus, one time I threw an amazing curve ball and didn't get the extra 10 XP. Older DS tried to show me and there was no way I could get it. Younger DS told me to do the same thing backwards and, boom, never miss. I find that if I throw a curve ball and it hits as great or excellent, I'm almost assured the catch.

DH just hatched a 10K Evee last night! I know of one other person that has happened to as well. That's a bummer!
And I cannot believe Taurus is a nuisance! We have never seen one in the wild, and only seen 1 or 2 in gyms. That is a big 'ole hole in my Pokedex!
I have like 4 Cubone, but they are all low level. We don't see them much. Have you read the description of him in the Pokedex? OMG so sad!

It's interesting to hear what everyone catches in their area. Our most common are Pidgey, Rattata, Ekans, and Paras. Others that are seen fairly often are Evee, Rhyhorn, Nidoran, Growlithe, Zubat, Cubone, Pikachu, Exeggcute, Spearow, Geodude and Weedle. I have quite a few Sandslashes, but they seem to elude DH.
I just named one of my Evees "Rainer" in hopes of getting a higher level Vaporeon when I evolve it. I believe the names for other types are Pyro (fire) and Sparky (electric). Has anyone tried that? My buddy update showed up today, so I have a little Squirtle next to my trainer now. It sounds like it takes forever to make any progress toward evolving your buddy.

The eevee name trick worked for us but only once per name. DS was not happy when it didn't work on the second time when he was evolving a high cp eevee. He ended up with jolteon, I think, when he was going for Vaporeon.

Level 21, 92 Pokemon.
I'm still obsessed but Columbus has a ton of good places to catch them. There is one park where people have 5 lures going at once pretty constantly. I've caught over 30 different Pokemon there.
Can someone explain lucky eggs to me? I don't know what to do with them.

Lucky Eggs give you double points for everything you do during a 30-minute period. A good strategy is to save up a bunch of Pokemon to evolve, including lots of Pidgeys, and things that will give you new Pokemon (1000 points vs. 500). If you sit in the midst of some Pokestops with a lure, spinning and catching will also give you double points. You can easily get 25,000 or 30,000 points, which puts you a good distance to the next level. Sarah*H, 60 evolutions!? That's intense!

I started with Charmander. I can do the first evolution soon but I did the math and I think it will take 9 weeks to walk with it enough to get the final evolution. So meh. I'll probably switch to something that I only need a couple more of like Cubone or Diglett. We're watching AGT Finals and DH just screamed "what's that?" and ran outside. It was a Rhydon which he didn't have.
