DS is walking with magikarp. I'm not updating my app because my phone is rooted, so I don't have that feature. The app will not work with rooted phones anymore.

Has anyone assigned a buddy yet? I had 9tails earlier and he needed 3 km to find a candy, I switched to Pikachu and he only needs one. My husband is with one that needs 5. No buddy update here yet  |

Still playing, both kids ask me to take them out.
The three of us together tackling gyms makes it quite easy to them over and get coins. But revives are really in short supply.
I'm level 25 and have around 80 in my pokedex. Buddy system rolled out yesterday. I'm using buddies that I'm really close to being able to evolve.

I finally hatched charmander yesterday so I have the three starters now.
Only nest we have ever found was ponyta which changed into slowpoke. Other than that it's just odd stuff here and there.
Any good ways to use Insenses, nothing seems to occur using them. Tried near stops, tried out in country, and nothing. Disappointed in it.
My daughter has evolved 12 Eve's and not got a vaporean, the naming trick didn't work for her, she is frustrated. Wants trading now. Lol.

Level 25 here and catching lots of kangaskhan! I live in Sydney and hoping they introduce trading soon so I can swap them for things I don't have. I like the buddy system, but I have so much walking to do to evolve drowzee. I wish they were more common here!

I'm Level 24, currently walking with a Snorlax. I've gotten 2 candies so far. It's a long process to get 3, so I think once I get 3, I will walk with someone else. Probably a Ryhorn, since they seem to tough to get around here.
I did hear that the Evee trick only works once per name.
I have at least 2 Pokémon that have reached their potential and cannot be powered up anymore. One is a Gryados (1892) and the other is a Vaperon (2018). Surprisingly I have a Chansey that I never really looked at after he hatched, and his HP is 307!
Drowzie is very rare here, too. I'll never get to evolve him! I have 3, with the highest being only 605.
We have never seen a Muk in the wild.

Well the Magikarp nest was a fail. We did find two Goldeen and a Psyduck (along with the usual ones). We also went to a reported Growlithe nest and nothing was there either.  DS saw a Parasect, which would be a new one. But he said he'd rather use his Paras (fairly common here) to evolve one when using a lucky egg since he would get twice the xp for evolving plus twice the xp for a new addition to the pokedex. I never think of strategy like that. The Parasect didn't spawn on my game. |

I had an Arcaine pop on my radar last night, which was new to me, but not DH. He managed to get it, but I was rebooting my game when he popped and I didn't get him. We went back to where he was, but he was gone, so I missed him. I do not like those little Paras! They roll the poke balls back to me too much!  |

I made Ponyta my buddy because I only have three of them. I caught all three way back in the beginning of the game, all in the same spot. Dd also got several there, so I think it was a nest but unfortunately for us it must have been right at the end of the nest. I transferred all of my Geodudes last night, the whole lot of them that I got from the nest in our park during the yard sale last weekend. I still need four candies to evolve his next form (Gravely, I think his name is...?) -- I have one Gravely and need 100 candies to evolve him to form 3. So I'm walking my dog up to the park this morning and hoping the nest hasn't changed over yet. It's been Geodude for ages so I'm expecting a new one any day.

My Pokemon Go forced an update yesterday. But, I couldn't find a way to get the buddy.
Dh and I ended up at a sort-of-local vacation spot for dinner last night. I was hoping to find some new water creatures. Darn PG shut down and kicked me out. I couldn't remember my password and the boy, who was at home, couldn't find my password book. Bummer!
We went out as a family later, around town, and I picked up a number of Magicarp. And, a few other new water creatures.

I forgot to mention that my dd chose Evee as her buddy just because she's cute, lol. And Evee rides on your shoulder! It is very cute. Dd said she doesn't need any Evee candy but she couldn't resist having her riding around on her shoulder. ETA: here's dd and her Evee. Lol  |

Finally got the buddy update yesterday. It's strange that DH didn't. I chose Pikachu, since DD wants a Raichu. Found lots of Mr Mimes here in Brussels, not to mention others I didn't have.

My youngest son is playing on my phone. I usually take him by local lakefront park a few times a week. Hot spot of Pokestops and lures even if just driving by. Tonight he caught a Seel and a Porygon at Lakefront so he was super happy. I usually keep the app open while I walk each evening to help hatch the eggs and I click on the two Pokestops near our house. We are level 20. He has tried 6 times to evolve an Evee to a Jolteon but always gets another Flareon and tonight he finally got enough MagiKarp but the evolution was not as strong as he hoped. I have no clue how to make these things work out any better. Any tips or tricks?....make me the Cool Mom!!!  |

I had success with evolving 2 Evees today, using "Rainer" and "Sparky". I read that the name needs to be capitalized as shown. Maybe those of you who didn't succeed could try again. I'm going to try "Pyro" next time.

What do you mean about he jailbreaks? The update wasn't supposed to work on phones with jailbreaks/roots. I've gone off-script and modified my phone for password login and photo editing as well as a few other things none of which have anything to do with the Pokémon app. |

I ended up ordering a new phone. Not for this but my phone is a bitch to charge on the go (only charges wirelessly) and is getting too hot. It got to 130 degrees the other day. So I won't have to worry about the root issue. My new phone will be the galaxy s7 which reportedly cannot be rooted.
