I see they have a white one, now, too. That mint one is awfully cute...

You know? The thing I don't like about how it looks is the HUGE WeRMK logo on the front. It really spoils it for me.

If I they ever get discounted crazy, like on Black Friday, I might give in. I'm weak!

Way overpriced. I got my retro one for 5€. With dead postman font. They were selling more vintage typewriters including a proper mint-coloured one. Also for just a few euros...

Look on the previous thread link
Midway through page 2 there is an example of the results. Also, Victoria Marie had a review on Youtube.

Aww, bummed to hear about the crappy reviews. It's a little spendy for me, but I was still lusting after one. Glad to hear I can save my money.

nothing beats a vintage typewriter. to me, two things sink the WRMK version: 1) price 2) plastic body

Just get a vintage one on ebay....much cheaper and more reliable.
You can even get the ribbons there.

This reminds me that I need to crawl in my Dad's attic to grab my old typewriter. What I'll do for scrapbooking!

The deal killer for me was the plastic body. I probably would have spent $199 on a pink one, if it got decent reviews and had a metal body.
Don't you wonder sometimes who in a large company makes these terrible decisions? Maybe they should ask a few Peas before they launch new tools!

The plastic doesn't bother me, my laptop is plastic too. I just think Michael's needs to allow us to use coupons.

About a year ago, my hubby got me a new Brother typewriter for a little more than $100.00. I love it and it works great!! Although he really surprised the salesman at Office Max when he asked for one.. The salesman replied,"are you sure that's what she really wants?"

It goes on sale here every couple of weeks. It's 25% off which makes it $150 Canadian? I don't need another typewriter. I need to reduce not add to my stash. It sure is cute though.

I found 2 cherries when I clicked on the link LOL. I've never yet seen a cherry. I bought a Smith Corona Classic for $40 at a flea market, and it handles 12x12 like a dream. AND I got 7 colored ribbons for under $30 on ebay (black, red, blue, orange, pink, red, green), and it can still use the WeR ribbons.

They come up for me occasionally but I don't hunt for them any longer.

I think someone could make a nice profit on painting old typewriters and selling them. My Michael's doesn't even have the display model out. They just have the sign. Employee told me she would get the box for me though. It almost sounded like even Michael's didn't want people knowing how cheap it was. I think they will end up selling them deeply discounted at Black Friday to get rid of the product.

on my FB typewriter group, someone spoke with a Michael's employee who said the typewriters weren't selling well.

I'd love to get a typewriter but don't really have anywhere to put it which I think would get annoying.

I'd love to get a typewriter but don't really have anywhere to put it which I think would get annoying. I have two on my desk right now. I have 6 more displayed on shelves. I rotate what's on my desk depending on what typeface I want to use for whatever I'm working on. but yeah, I know what you mean about storage. I have 5 more in the garage, in their case, just waiting for room to open up in the house.

I store my typewriter on my raskög. I installed the top basket upside down. One cart holds my typewriter and the other holds my sewing machine.
