Here's a couple pics of our RV trips! I'm throwing in my flashback pic - DH and DS1 on the beach in Corpus in 2001 and then again this year! Makes my heart melt - why do they grow up so fast?! So glad we've been able to take these road trips and make some sweet family memories before they are all grown and wanting to move away! Attachments:

Used to tent camp when our kids were very small. (I still don't know why.) They are now 44 and 45. You do everything you do at home under worse conditions. I can't believe all the necessary crap we stuffed in a midsize car. Tent, sleeping bags, cooler, camp stove, lantern, stroller, clothes, food, etc.. And oh what fun changing diapers and showering little ones! Yeah, it was a ball!

It's been 18 years since I really camped...in a tent efc.
But a couple years ago we did a 5 day high Sierra camping trip in tents..but we had packers for us and two cooks so I don't know if that counts. It was awesome though.

went on a canoe/portage/camping in tents on a trip to algonquin park the last year of high school. i graduated in 1990. that summer went tent camping with a bunch of friends to wasaga beach - there was baby duck wine and the next day a really big headache. packing up was miserable.
my mother-n-law has a cottage so that is our escape. friends coming up 3rd week in august for 2 days. we will pack up with them and head up to camp (tent) overnight after that. i figured after 20 some-odd years, one night should be a good way to give it a try again!! i have been warned about lack of toilet facilities and so we will really be getting back to nature!!

We just bought an RV last week (from my aunt and uncle for a song). We are camping in it tonight---in our backyard.

Last night! We are in the midst of a 24 day cross-country trip with our 3 sons (16,14 and 10). We have a travel trailer that has all the modern amenities. I would not like primitive camping! We have made so many great memories over the years on our trips.
We live in western NY... but right now we are in Oregon. On this trip alone we've been to St. Louis, Rocky Mountain National Park, Salt Lake City, Reno, Redwood National Park and Crater Lake National Park. We are on our way to Olympic National Park and the San Juan Islands before we start the long journey home.
The only place I've ever felt a bit scared was St. Louis... The city has seen better days, I think... and the campground we stayed at didn't have the best security.

Last weekend. Before that we camped for a week the week leading into the Fourth of July. Tent camping both times. Last summer we took two backpacking trips. One four day, one two day.... Which is tent camping/ carrying camp on your backs/ setting up nightly/ tearing down each morn before hitting the trails again. It made reg tent camping seem enjoyable, lol.
Yes, we feel safe. The island we backpacked on has bears and we did see tracks, but we hung absolutely everything with scent.

I should add, we did enjoy our backpacking trips. We planned one for this year as well but our 15 year old (who loved it) asked to camp at a campground this year. Apparently, the girls are more plentiful there, lol. Our 14 year old daughter hates both. Our 12 year old goes with the flow.

About 60 years. One year at camp (cabins, bathrooms, beds) our cabin won some contest or other and the prize was an overnight tent camping trip. That was one night more than enough for the rest of my life. Hated it with a purple passion.

Just a few weeks. We have a 24 foot travel trailer that we use to go to a few places kinda close to home. We usually go a couple times/summer to an Army Corps of Engineers campground about 45 minutes away from where we live. The park is neat and clean with laundry, showers and flush toilets! We like the camp hosts and park rangers there. It's almost like 'going to the cabin', but you take the cabin to where you want it.

We went yurt camping in May. We tent camp in our own yard. We could tent camp other places and we'd feel safe, but I find the packing for 4 people to tent camp to be a mighty pain in the rear, so I prefer to go "glamping" for now. When both kids are old enough to be in charge of their own gear and set-up, I'd be fine tent camping places besides our yard with them.

I do go tent camping with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts (both my sons are Scouts). I enjoy it and to help me sleep I have a tent fan and sometimes take an over the counter sleep aid before bed. I would love to get a RV camper for our family. When we vacation now it is not tent camping but staying at a hotel or cabin.

The last time I went cabin camping (won't catch me in a tent) was 4 years ago when my son's Boy Scout troop camped at the place where they filmed Friday the 13th. I sucked it up for the photo ops. Ain't never going camping again. Definitely a wimpy, indoor girl here.
