I don't think I've heard of it before. What's it about?

I don't have Netflix, but want to see it. (and I think the people who really need to see won't watch it)

I don't think I've heard of it before. What's it about? Short blurb: Filmmaker Ava DuVernay explores the history of racial inequality in the United States, focusing on the fact that the nation's prisons are disproportionately filled with African-Americans That's the one.

ok...sure will you come back so we can all discuss? gina I am okay with folks just watching and not discussing. Whatever is most comfortable for you. I think it's a film America should see. There is also a really informative exibit about Angola at the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture if anyone is planning a visit to D.C.

Based on what I've heard about 13th, it should be eye-opening. But, I agree with pudgygroundhog regarding people who need to see it. To be creatures with such remarkable and facile brains, we are surprisingly closed-minded much of the time.

Thank you! I don't plan to post with any regularity but I won't let my "voice" be stamped out either! I hope everyone has happy holidays.
