kellyr21, I froze the cupcakes because I haven't had the time to frost them. I think I will practice on just one color and for now I will just add butter flavoring to the frosting. I'll let you know how they turn out. grammadee, i would like to know how many hours you have in a day in Canada, because I'm sure you get more than 24 in a day! You are so industrious that you make me feel lazy. I hope you have a great weekend with the grands. A day with justjac sounds like fun too. I'm jealous that you get to see her play. Give us a critique! maribeth, thanks for the color prompt. I hate January because everything around here is gray. I get so hungry for spring and the color of grass and flowers. I love color in layouts. I need to use color and the brights seem to be my favorite for scrapping. How are things in NM? Hope things are going well at work. knutschen, a scrapbook weekend sounds like fun. Do you have layouts you can share with us? I hope you are enjoying the vacation. scrapincin, thanks for the help with the Silhouette files. Doug will be over tonight and said he'd bring back the old computer to see if we can get the files off. I ordered a couple of designs yesterday and was charged for them but they didn't go into my library. They always have before. Another thing to research. I'd better quit and start some dinner. Seems like that time rolls around too fast every day. Be back later.

Hey Ladies. I am at my computer only long enough to check in here and into my email, and then I have to finish packing my clothes, packing the vehicle, and then heading out for the drive to Calgary. Have my camera case, of course, clothing for what ever season may decide to join us over the next 4 days, and I am also taking a tub and a shoulder bag (already packed) of scrappy stuff to play with on Monday at Jac's. Hope you are finally getting your new computer and the Silhouette files to talk to each other, nylene. If your new computer is Windows 10, the way it interacts with other programs is a little different from older operating systems. Maybe that's all it is. And I know your cupcakes will be delicious and beautiful whenever you get to decorating them. It's funny you mention January as colourless. I feel the same way about April in these parts. In January we have snow, and usually everything is frosted, so everything sparkles. When the snow goes and before everything starts growing we live in a grey world here in April. It's really nice to see you posting again maribeth! You seem to have to much energy. Do you get a long weekend this weekend for Veteran's day? Will you be going to any services? Or will you have some extra time to play with paper? And I agree knutschen. I would love to see some of your pages from your retreat. Always good to have playdates with friends. I will check in from the other end with my ipad. I have pages made ahead for my gratitude journal prompts, and have them loaded into my Flickr photostream. Just hoping I will be able to link those photos with my ipad. Guess if I can't, I can copy & paste the pages as links. Anyway, just got a call from my ddil from Calgary, because she needs to know when I will be arriving so she will know where I will fit into their busy carpool shuffling to swim club, hockey, and other events this evening. (Five kids going 4 different directions, starting just after 4:00, and she has a sales meeting right after supper, and the other two drivers in the house have referee commitments). Waving hello to scrapincin, LisaDV, and the others. Hope you have a wonderful long weekend, with time to get caught up after a busy week, as well as time to play, time to connect, time to relax.

Happy Thursday! We are having another heat wave out here but the evenings are cooler. Plus, my dh and I are sick with colds. Mine started off slow on Monday then yesterday, I really started having all the main symptoms. We need to get lots of rest and get better so we can have a nice 3 day weekend. I have worked on a few cards this week too. I plan to do more of that today. grammadee - Have a great time on your trip and wish justjac my support for her play. Wish we all could go and cheer for her. nylene - I know your cupcakes are gonna turn out great. I still plan to do more practicing with mine this weekend. Waving hello to everyone and have a nice evening!!!

scrapincin, Doug was able to download all the files in my User Files and hooray, they are all there. He said he had to do some creative computer stuff, but said he would write it out in case anyone else ever needs it. Now I have everything that I use on the computer installed and working. I have too many fonts but have been afraid to delete any in case they are essential to Microsoft. So he is writing a program that separates out the required fonts from the "fluff" fonts and I can go through and delete ones I won't need or use. He was glad for your link last night. That's how he got started on the recovery. Thanks for your help. kellyr21, my cupcakes turned out pretty good. The first ones weren't very pretty and I think the frosting was too stiff. I thinned it just a bit and the next ones looked pretty. I made some of those tiny little cupcakes and pulled out some old small tips to do them. The larger tips were just too big. Alyssa is having a 13th B-day party on Saturday and wants me to make a bunch of the tiny cupcakes. I know my grands are going to love this for Cousin Camp. Thank you so much for your idea, help, links and encouragement. It was fun. grammadee, have a great trip. I have been a lurker on your grateful thread, but didn't join in because of the computer switching. Thanks for doing that. I'd like to do that, but this is not the time I guess. I'm sending hugs to all of the Pokeys. Have a great weekend. I may not be able to get back on until the first of the week. Lots going on this weekend.

t's really nice to see you posting again maribeth! You seem to have to much energy. Do you get a long weekend this weekend for Veteran's day? Will you be going to any services? Or will you have some extra time to play with paper? I wish I had more energy, there is just so much to do. No long weekend for me, no services. I will be spending the weekend decorating for Holiday Home. I decorate from top to bottom. It is a huge production. It is going to me challenging this year with the new little kitty we rescued (story to come in later post). Played in my scraproom a bit yesterday morning, and hope to do a little after I finish my posts.

Catch-up on my Mission of Thanks
Day 9 - Children Day 10 - Memories Day 11 - Verterans
Children - I mean who can not be Grateful for Children. Even those who choose not to have Children must be grateful they are in the world in order for us to continue on. I have been blessed to have two boys, and they in turn have both been blessed with two children. I am Thankful that they are all healthy and I hope they all have happiness and joy in their life.
Memories - Well to say the very least right! You all know Memories are MY THING - Am I Thankful for them......double edge sword here. Sometimes I feel like I forsake the NOW in order live in my Memories. Memories are what drew me to my favorite pass time of scrapbooking. Of course another element here is that fact that both my grandmother (via a stroke) and my mother (alzheimer's) suffered from memory loss, and it was so scary to see this, and therefore I believe I cling to Memories far to tightly, but I could have a worse vise I suppose.
Veteran's - Thankful beyond belief. From my earliest memory (oh there I go again), I can see my uncle and his buddy's in their Navel uniforms, so proud. As I grew up a bit I was told way he was often away. My cousin then joined the Navy as well. My mother was a huge reader of non-fiction, so from an early age I was introduced to books about the military. It is because of all the men and women who serve that our country became a country, grew to be the greatest nation in the world, and is the place I am so Thankful to live in. I can not THANK the Veteran's enough!

Hi Pokeys, I've been continuing to read everyone's post. Just not much going on. Sickness recovery. Cleaned and moved some things in my craft room, and now that I feel better it's time for the rest of the house. kellyr21, sending you some virtual homemade chicken and rice soup for your colds. It's what my Dad made for me and what I make for my family, except my kids hate it. DD doesn't like broth based soups, and ds would rather have a canned chicken and noodle. Hope it's short-lived and gone quickly.

nylene - you wanted the story of the kitty so here it is. The Kitty Caper - We live in a semi-rural area. A sparsely populated neighborhood in the high desert where each home has about an acre of land. We are on a community well that my husband assists the owners (my bosses) in operating. Every morning my husband walks our dog bandit, who was also abandoned in our neighborhood 2 1/2 years ago. Our neighborhood is a popular place for people to dump their unwanted animals because we live in a fairly impoverished area. Our little neighborhood is the more affluent area and I think people who can't take care of their animals think that those of us in this neighborhood can afford to do so. Now let me clear up, no one in this neighborhood is by any means affluent, we are just better off than many others in our immediate area. So on my husbands walk one morning up by the community well Bandit started pulling to go toward the tall weeds and clump of trees at the side of the road, and out popped a small kitten, who then quickly vanished back under the brush. After he completed his walk and took Bandit home he headed up to the area he saw the kitten and called me to let me know he would probably not me home at lunch (I go home for lunch) and where and what he was doing. So at lunch I went to the area to help him. By the time I got there it was no longer just one kitten but two. Scared and skiddish, we could not get the kittens to come to us. I had to return to work, Jim stayed a bit longer but then went home. When I got home in the evening we went back out there hoping again to try to get these two little kittens. We took our cat carrier, some cat food, tuna and water hoping to lure the cats to us. It was a chilly windy evening, and try as we might we could not get these kittens to come to us. The following day Jim heard the kittens again, left them some kibble and tried once again at lunch to get them. Again no luck. Tried in the evening again like the previous one armed with our supplies. This time as we were trying to get these two little kittens, a third one popped out of the brush. WOW. On this evening we were able to the first two kittens into the cat carrier, but we could not get the third one. We tried everything, but that one would just not come out of the brush. But it was oh so cute, as we through it tuna to try to lure it to us, when it would eat it, it made the cutest little num num num num noise as it was eating. We brought the two we caught and put them in our little closed porch area. We didn't want to put them with our cat due to possible illnesses they may carry. We were so happy, but so devastated at the same time having to leave the third kitten out there by itself. We were able to get the third one the following evening. Here they are on our porch.
Oh we were so happy!!!! But now what to do with them. Re-homing kittens is not easy in our area, most people just want them for barn cats and the are often the victims of owl, hawk, and coyote attacks. But there was no way we could keep them all it was over 100.00 per kitten just to get them examined and vaccinated in order to introduce them to our Cat, and that is before spay/nuter. There was just no way we could do that. But for now, they are safe and we will figure out what to do. The next morning while Jim and Bandit were walking, by the same place, Bandit once again pulls toward the brush and out pops another kitten. OH MY, a fourth. With all the time we spent down there and we had never seen this fourth kitten. We were completely devastated that this kitten was out there all alone now. We tried day after day after day to get this kitten. We had found a home for the three on our porch, and we were preparing to leave on our last camping trip of the year 9 days. We could not get that last kitten. Jim left an entire bag of cat kibble in the tall weeds it was living in, and left tuna cans full of water hoping that it would survive, and that maybe it would go to one of the nearby homes. We did not expect the kitten to be there when we returned. But it was. We still could not get the kitten. We continued to try, and finally, as the evenings were becoming colder a neighbor offered us the use of a live trap. Within four hours of placing the trap we got the last little kitten. We kept this one. Her name is ZoZo. And she matches my scraproom. She and Desmond are getting along pretty well. I
So nylene that is the tale of the Kitty Caper - I was an emotional wreck during all of this, I could not stand to think of those little kittens out there trying to stay alive. Hubby was so mad he was going to post on our community FaceBook page to just bring their throw away animals to us and we'll take care of them. If only we could. I always wanted to build a no-kill shelter on some land here in New Mexico (it is pretty cheap) but obviously I do not have the means to operate such a facility. But that was always my dream. Have a wonderful Friday Pokey's - I may or may not make it on this weekend what with holiday decorating and all.

maribeth, thank you so much for sharing your kitten(s) story. You and your husband have been so kind to them. Not many people would take the time and make the effort that you put into saving them. Pat yourselves on the back. You did a wonderful thing. I hope you enjoy your little ZoZo for many years. I giggled at your comment that she matches your scraproom. She was meant to be yours! I remember your Christmas decorations from last year. You do so many beautiful things. I will wait until after Angie goes back to CA and Cousin Camp is over before I even start. It will probably be the first week in Dec. kellyr21, are you feeling any better? It's too early in the year for bad colds. Take care of yourself and get lots of rest and fluids. I hope you are both on the mend. LisaDV, it's nice to hear from you. It sounds like you have lots to do. When you finish getting your house in shape, would you like to come work on mine. I have to whip it into shape before Angie and family arrive a week from tomorrow. How is the home schooling going? Take care of yourself and your family and check in when you have time. I was hoping our school would have a little program about Veteran's Day, but they didn't. Maybe each teacher did something in class. I love driving down the street and seeing flags on every lawn. I don't know if your Boy Scouts do this in your area, but here they buy a bunch of flags and go around and put them on lawns for Memorial Day, July 4th, July 24th (Utah Pioneer Day), Labor Day, 9-11, Veteran's Day and maybe some others. They use it as a fund raiser. We pay $35 a year and the Scouts and Young Women take turns posting and retrieving them. They quickly pay for the flags and it pays for most of their activities. In our Troop area, some of the elderly people can't really afford it, but they have flags on their lawns too. Everyone gets a flag on the holiday unless you request otherwise. It's really heartwarming to see flags posted all over town. I'd better quit. I have cupcakes to make and frost for Lyssie's B-day party tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

Happy Friday! We are still a little sick out here with these colds but we did get lots of rest today. My dh was off today so that was great so he could take it easy. Unfortunately, he had to take the car in but they finally got it fixed and he was able to finally get some rest. Thanks for all your well wishes. maribeth- OMG! You and your dh are angels! I love your story and boy are those kittens lucky to have you all. They are adorable! How awesome you found homes for the three and glad you got to keep one for yourself. These kittens remind me of my cat babies. When I was a girl, my cat gave birth under my parent's bedroom dresser. We didn't even know she was pregnant! I saw these little things crawling around and I finally realized they were just born cats. I was so excited and loved those four kittens. I noticed one of the kittens the momma cat didn't nurse or nurture. It must of been sick and soon after it died. We did keep the kittens for a while which made me happy and at some point, my parents found them a home and that was that. They were so cute too! nylene- Oh, I wish I could come help you with those cupcakes! I hope you enjoy decorating them and I know the kids will love them. Also, that is so cool about the flags in your community. What a great project for the Boy Scouts. You don't do the scouts anymore right? LisaDV- Thanks for the virtual soup! Sounds like your kids are missing out on some great soup to me. LOL! Glad you all are better too. We hope to get lots of rest over the weekend. I know that will help. Waving hello to you all and have a nice weekend!

maribeth that is a sweet kitten. And a very lucky one to be adopted by such caring people. That is an awesome story! nylene, I am glad your cupcakes turned out so nicely. Looking forward to seeing a page about them! And I am glad you have your computer glitches resolved. Love the flag project your local scouts have kellyr21 I hope your day of rest--and LisaDV's virtual soup-- helps you and hubby recover from your colds. Another busy day here in calgary yesterday shuttling kids back and forth. It gives their parents a bit of a break, and I get to take photos of their activities. Today ds & his wife are going to a funeral of her family's friend, so I will be here with the little guys. One has already asked me to play Lego with him, my dgd wants a baking session with Gramma, and I hope to bring them with me to their brother's hockey game in the afternoon, so this is looking like another fun and photo filled day! And speaking of photos, dd sent me an adorable one of her little guy sporting his poppy with his daddy in full dress uniform after their Remembrance Day parade yesterday. Can't wait to print it and get it onto a page!

maribeth, that is so sweet. ZoZo is adorable. I just love all of the pictures. You and your husband are so wonderful. kellyr21, hope you and your hubs get lots of rest. nylene, although it's a lot of work to decorate cupcakes or cakes for our special ones, it's so worth it. I know Lyssie will appreciate it. I would come clean for you after finishing mine, but my place never really gets clean. By the time I'm through I need to start all over. grammadee, I'm sure the parents appreciate your help. Glad you're getting so many great photos. One of my great nephew's turned one today. My sister (his Mimi) facetime'd with us on iphone so we could see him. Makes me miss not living closer. But also makes me remember that "into everything" stage. whew! Glad that's over! lol. Hope everyone has a great finish on their weekend.

Thank you all for the comments on the Kitty Caper - Holiday Home began this weekend, and it is going to be a long season. So far she has not attempted to climb the tree, but the table decorations are getting her interest. I have already decided I won't be putting out those precious decorations this year, just going to work with items that are replaceable.
Since I was so busy this weekend I have to catch up on my mission of thanks.
Day 12 - Fun Day 13 - Senses Day 14 - Passion
Fun - I am not sure if I really have FUN! I love to see others having fun. And I guess the feeling I get when I go camping would be the closest feeling of FUN that a attain. I don't really ever think I have said "Wow, that was fun" Well, not ever, but in a very very long time. Everything seems like work. Event when I think I am going to have FUN....like at a retreat, or even my recent trip with my son and his family, it just always seem like such work. I always seem to worry about everyone else having FUN that I really don't get to enjoy it myself??? I think I need to examine this!
Senses - Well this is obviously one I am so grateful and thankful for. The ability to experience all the senses. It is hard for me to imagine a life without sight, sound, taste, smell and touch. It makes the world so much more meaningful being able to experience it with the inclusion of the senses.
Passion - While I may not feel like I have fun, I do feel like I have a lot of Passion. And then I wonder, is it because I am so Passionate about so many things it does not allow me to have fun? Is this one of those situations where I need to choose between these two. I always thing of fun as being carefree, and being passionate does not equal carefree in my mind. It is intense, it is focused, it feels to me it is the opposite of being carefree?? Your opinions please?
Have a wonderful Monday Pokeys.

Just checking in for a few minutes while I enjoy a Tim Hortons coffee (ahhh...) before dropping my vehicle off for service, then heading over to @jusjac's for a day of crafting. Yesterday, I stopped in to see my other ds and family, then made the drive, and slept at Jac's last night. Crafting--and a little shopping --is on the agenda for today. maribeth, I laughed when I saw your comments on decoration a house with a kitten's help. Dd's cat is 8 years old, and she still has to bat theses pretty little baubles around! I think we all not only make choices but are naturally drawn to certain actions and reactions. Embrace your passions! My motto is "Don't should on yourself". kellyr21 & nylene your talk about cupcakes reminds me I intended to pick up baking supplies before heading home today. Somehow I have lost my supply list, but I should be able to get most of the things I need. And dh & I will be back in town Wednesday, so should be able to get the rest then. Have a great Monday, ladies!

Well, it did it again. Apparently I can't post from the gallery. I wonder if there is something in my new computer blocking it. Another little question for Doug.

Happy Monday! My dh and I are just about done with these colds. I do feel better today and we did get a lot of rest over the weekend. I found some pretty poinsettia flowers for my cards at M's so I am excited to get back to my cards. nylene- how did the party and your cupcakes turn out? grammadee- What do you plan to bake this holidays? I am still in a baking mood and that pumpkin pie sounds good too. We are in another heat wave and I hope the weather can cool off enough so I can get my oven going. Glad you had a nice trip too. Have fun at justjac play. maribeth- You did get lots of decorating going. Glad to hear your little Zozo is behaving so far. Have you started watching the Hallmark Christmas movies yet? It is still too early for me. I'll probably start after Thanksgiving.

I don't know what has happened to my abilities on this site from Saturday to today. I no longer have a choice of font size or color, or any other symbols really. When I hit Reply it shows an empty box. I can post a note by hitting Post Quick Reply but have no way to attach anything. It is very weird. kellyr21, my cupcakes looked nothing like your pretty ones, but Lyssie loved them and had a fun party Sat. night. So I guess that is all that matters. I'm going to try to post this and then nose around and see if I can figure out what happened.

Hi everyone! Nylene I tried some of the things you were having problems with and they worked pretty much for me. I wonder of there is anything in the profile section that changed when you came on with the new computer. Just searching. I have to say that your transfer has gone pretty smoothly all things considered. I was watching the Today show this morning and they were talking about when we get new phones and computers You can delete things but they information is still there. The only way to get rid of the info on a laptop is to remove the hard drive. On phones you can go to reset and do a factory reset and it will remove all your information as it makes it like it was when you first got it. I just had to reset my tablet and put everything back in.
No scrapping got done at my house but I did make a couple new flowers. I bought a set of stamps and dies for these flowers at the expo . I will have to take a pic of them and post it. They are really pretty.
Have to go for now.

Glad you are feeling better kellyr21. Hope you get your computer issues resolved, nylene. I had a lot of trouble getting Flickr and this site to cooperate after my computer decided to update itself to Windows 10. After a couple of weeks, it suddenly righted itself. I am back home. Don't think I am even going to take my suitcase out of the car: I am WIPED! Today was an easy enough day, but it has a busy few days before that. Managed to finish 16 cards today. Will get a photo when I get my stuff in tomorrow.

Mission of Thanks - Day 15
I posted this on Day 10 over on Grammadee's thread
Music brings back such memories for me. I guess I am most thankful for happiness that music brought to my mother. My mother was a bit of a tortured soul, and she was always most at peace and most happy when she was surrounded by music. She loved all kinds of music. She could not sing a note, and was not much of a dancer, but she could whistle any song, from the intricate classical notes, to the current pop song, it was amazing. I wish I had gotten a recording of her whistle, I miss it so much.

Good Tuesday morning! I slept until almost 8:00AM which is really different for me, but am feeling really good this morning, so I guess I needed that! Yesterday, I was able to print the photos I needed for the cover of family calendar. Since the cover is very photo heavy, and I had sketched a little plan last week when I was choosing which photos to print, it did not take long to glue it together this morning. Here it is: calendar 17 cover by Gramma Dee, on Flickr My other plans for the day include cooking up some more pumpkins which have ripened since the last time, bringing my stuff in from the vehicle, and doing a couple of pages for my 30 days of thankful book. (Have photos to use on those now, too!) Will see how far I get. I have several days worth of PVR'd programs ready to watch if I decide to just lie down this afternoon for awhile.

Went to granddaughter's soccer banquet last night. So proud of her for participating she is very shy and a bit socially awkward but she struggles through and I applaud her for it.
Mission of Thanks - Day 16 - Blessings
All the blessings that have been bestowed on me, health, good work ethic, kindness, peaceful life.....the blessings are many and I am all too often careless with them. This Mission of Thanks exercise was purposely intended for me to get back to realizing all these blessings, and where I might be without them.
Have a Wackadoodle Wednesday Pokey's.

I have continued to lose all the content that I type, but suddenly all the icons are back and I seem to be able to use this site normally. I did email Doug today and tell him what was going on. Maybe he fixed it remotely while I was at school today! I'm sorry I have missed out on some of maribeth's Mission of thanks. I have actually responded and then lost the message. Today I am so grateful for my blessings. At school each of the children (and teachers) were asked to trace a hand and add something we were thankful for on each finger. We then cut them out and they were used for a HUGE Christmas tree on the wall just as you enter the building. My 5 things were: my faith, my family, my country, my health and the beautiful earth. I will try to remember to take a photo of it on Friday. grammadee, that is a great cover for your calendar. I will leave love now that I can get into the gallery. We are expecting our first snow by morning. I hate the cold weather, and dread the coming of winter. We really need the moisture though. Without huge snows in the mountains, we won't have any summer water. @kellyrf21, are you and your DH feeling better? How's the weather there now. We had 73 degree weather yesterday and tomorrow it won't get above 42. BRRR! scrapincin, thanks for trying to help me with the computer. I delved into my profile and every other place where I could find info about this board. I emailed the admin, but haven't heard back. I'm just glad it is working now. Let me know how things go with you tomorrow. LisaDV, I am making progress on getting my house deep cleaned. I slowed down last night and made 12 cards. I rationalize that being creative for a couple of hours will give me more energy to clean the next day. Sound right? Well, I'm off to have a Wackadoodle Wednesday evening.

Hey, I think it will let me post my layout now. Lightning Speed by Nylene Budge, on Flickr This is not one of my favorite layouts, but when little Alex saw it he wanted me to make him with flames too.

Just got home from justjac's play. It was really well done, a very funny comedy: they all did an awesome job!

Mission of Thanks - Day 17 - Trials
I think it is hard to be grateful and thankful and count our blessings when we have not at some point experienced trials in life. I too often think of the small discomforts in my life as a "trial", but the are not. I also discount some of the trials I did encounter (such as the years spent in an abusive relationship/marriage where I was literally trying to save the lives of me and my children). I have always believed that going through that time and coming out on the other side made me such a better person. I was a spoiled child who really knew no trials, and I believe if I had continued with out experiencing a "trail" in my life I may not be who I am today.
Make this one Terrific Thursday Pokey's.

Good evening, Ladies!
My mind has been pretty sluggish all day, and my attempt at crafting was a total bust this morning, but I managed to get a bunch of routine tasks done this afternoon, including getting my hair cut, paying my vehicle registration, getting my wheels retorqued, and taking my calendar for printing.
Dh went to play cards tonight, so we had a quick soup & sandwich supper, and then I vegged all evening, watching PVR'd programs from the time I was away.
My 30 days of thankful prompt for today was about being grateful for scrappy friends, and I wanted to add a little special thanks here in the world of Pokeys. I love how everyone here is so positive and supportive. I love learning a little bit about everyone's lives, and seeing the artful creations you share. I feel really at home here and am extremely thankful for finding this little community!
I need to post the prompt for tomorrow soon, and link my page. Then I think I will crawl into bed, and sleep away this brain fog.

Good morning peas! Here it is Friday morning already! Where does the time go? This week has flown by for me anyway. I did get one page scrapped and will post it shortly. Waiting for daylight to get a good photo of it! Saw the doctor yesterday and he believes it is one of my meds causing my legs to swell since he doubled the dose of that med and my swelling got worse. So we shall see. We are supposed to hit 70 today and then get snow tomorrow-just like Nylene! Just light snow tomorrow morning but then an accumulation tomorrow night. I bet you are getting it too Lisa since you are near where I live in NE Ohio. Not complaining tho you gals in Canada have had it already. By the way how is your head @ justjac ? I figured your play would be funny wish I could have seen it. I am actually making bread already this morning. I decided to make the bread for my stuffing so making it today so it can dry out in time. I found this recipe on the back of a bag of bread flour and it is so easy and yet really good. It is a rustic italian, I make it on the dough setting then take it out let it rise the last time then bake it in my oven instead of the whole process in the bread maker. Gotta run the kids are coming in the back door-will be back later with the page I scrapped.

My goodness! You were up early, scrapincin, making bread. I have never baked breadmaker bread out of the machine. I hope the change in meds will help your legs. Wondering if you got snow? And nylene was saying they were expecting their first snowfall. Our first dump of snow melted within a week or so. Getting the first cold temps since then this week. They had snow elsewhere in the province, but we have had only a few flurries today. I started Christmas baking today, making a big batch of butter tarts to freeze. Also used some of the pumpkin I had cooked up this week to make a couple of pumpkin pies, but we will be eating those, as they don't freeze very well. kellyr21, you asked what I usually make. I have a list of favorites I bake each year: butter tarts, almond crisps, gingerbread cookies, spice cookies, surprise cookies. Have already made my pumpkin loaves. Also plan to make a couple of no bake treats. I make them mini size so I can put a lot of variety on a plate of sweets. I like to have them made early, so I can take a plate to pot lucks and Christmas gatherings. Scrapwise, I finished a few more Christmas cards. Still have not done any of the insides, but may do that tomorrow when our nephew's wife will be here working on her cards. She always does stamped messages inside, and sometimes a stamp on the envelope as well, so maybe she can get me going with this. I don't have a page ready for the next 30 Days of Thankful prompt, but I am off to post the prompt anyway. Have a great Friday night!
