Where the heck do you get ammonia? I was looking everywhere for it earlier this summer and couldn't find it? I got mine at publix, but you could probably get it at any grocery store-I think the cleaning aisle. Next time you go to the store just ask and they will show you where it is hiding. 😃 |

I was just thinking the other day that we now have five kinds of vinegar in the pantry. (White, cider, malt, balsamic, and rice.) Mmmmm.

Why does this never work for me? I've tried it several times but no dice. I've tried the version where you put plastic wrap over it and puncture tiny holes so they can get in but not out. Next I did the version where you just kept enough Dawn bubbles in it to trap them. I've tried white vinegar AND apple cider vinegar. Some pea help me out? LOL I got one going now and it works great! small mason jar, half water, half apple cider vinegar, a couple squirts dishsoap. Lots of dead fruit flies! I swear everyone has better luck at this than me! It's a bummer the store is always sold out of their fruit fly traps. I'd prefer this to work. |

Red wine vinegar for fruit flies.
White vinegar in with washing towels.
White vinegar in a baggie for the shower head.
White vinegar and hot water in tea kettle, just sitting not heated,
to get rid of hard water junk inside.

 The short answer is: - Don't! The longer answer is: never mix hydrogen peroxide and vinegar together in one container. The resulting chemical, peracetic acid, can harm you when mixed together this way if you accidentally create a strong concentration in this fashion. OMG, really??? That is the most irresponsible thing I have seen in a long time. Back in the dark ages of WWI, a similar combination created the poison gassed used on solders in the trenches. Letting your child (or anyone really) put thier face over that and inhale/exhale through a straw?? OMG. ETA: I wasn't suggesting that you (dalaimama) are irresponsible, rather the person who put it out there in the first place. |

I am hoping for fresh smelling towels! BTW, how much vinegar should be added to wash? I dumped, not sure how much, but less then 1/4 cup. |
