I'm thinking of preordering some of the Lawn Fawn christmas stamps from Simon Says Stamp. I've never wanted to do this before but they are so cute! I'd just like them delivered when available. However, I vaguely remember threads about preorders gone wrong.
Any thoughts or experiences?

i wouldn't say never, but generally you're better off just waiting for the release. Lawn Fawn's stuff will be available from a lot of locations and won't go out of stock, likely.

I've pre-ordered things from Simon Says in the past and NEVER had an issue with them.

I've had nothing but good experiences with SSS BUT I hate pre-orders. PITA! 1 item doesn't arrive, and you don't get your order for 2 months waiting on that item... HOWEVER Considering how reliable LawnFawn is in it's stocking and production times, I'd say go for it! Just keep the pre-order to only the LF stuff

I have never preordered anything. I did end up placing an order and then agreeing wait bc the shop was suppose to get it in , in two days. But it's been two weeks and nothing so I will never agree to that again. So I would say no to preorders or anything close to that.

I preorder from ACOT all the time and have never had a problem. Stuff comes in slowly due to different shipment dates, but I haven't had a problem so far. ACOT is a big store though so they get lots of merchandise.
Just my experience there...

I don't preorder and other places always seem to get it in faster then the place I was looking. And as far as SSS goes, I have had nothing but issues with them and won't give them business any more.

Thanks for the feedback! I hadn't thought about what happens if only part of the order comes in. It's also reassuring to hear that lawn fawn stuff shouldn't sell out. I'll probably just wait (not so patiently )

I've never had a problem with SSS.
Well except one, when I pre-ordered a kit for a friends birthday and had it drop shipped to her house. They sent it before the were supposed to and it go there too soon! LOL! She was a good sport about it. I told her to open it early, but she waited.

i'm pretty sure that LF is shipping this fall/winter collection at the end of August, so you won't have to wait too long!

As far as stamps go, I have had *excellent* luck with pre-ordering Lawn Fawn (specifically actually) and a few other companies from www.oozak.com. Not only is his CS phenomenal, but he ships free after $50, and that includes pre-orders. I don't know about other companies, because I'm not really a fan of many places, but I would definitely recommend Oozak. One time he did a 15% off sale of all pre-ordered stamps and I just.... I couldn't resist!

When I'm out of the freezer I'll go back and take a proper look.

The other thing about pre-orders is that I sometimes change my mind about new stuff - decide I don't *need* it after all

Why don't you just get them straight from Lawn Fawn? They are a good company too, and I've had good luck, but be prepared for full price plus full shipping if you go this route. I save it for things I want NOW since they're in SoCal they arrive to me in a day.

I save it for things I want NOW since they're in SoCal they arrive to me in a day. I only meant to compare with the original choice of preorders with Simon. Personally, I usually only buy one or two sets at a time, so I am never at anyone's free shipping threshold, and a lot of the stamp companies have wised up and offer first class for their smaller packages. Simon, OTOH, charges $6.99 for orders under $75 and $7.99 for orders OVER $75, unless you're lucky enough to have a coupon. So if I'm paying full price for the stamps but only $3 for shipping, I still feel like I am coming out ahead. I have only ordered from Oozak once, but I have no complaints, so that's a good recommendation, too. (Although I do not like their website... and am glad they FINALLY fixed the "customer service at it's best" to the right "its".)

Yeah. I'm still waiting on a pre-order from ACOT. Thankfully, I got several of the products in my Hipkitclub kit this month. I pre-ordered once before from another company. Can't remember the details except I bought the same products from another company long before my "pre-order" ever arrived. Oh yeah - it was the envelope punch from WRMK. Swore I'd never bother to pre-order again.
Good to read all the comments - never heard of oozak - off to check them out...

Thanks for the advice everyone! I ordered from the company on the day of release and got them 2 days later. Thanks AerynK for the tip about fast delivery in So Cal.

I have received one of 3 preorders. Another one has shipped and I am waiting on another one. These are all from ACOT. I am back to cherry hunting because I would have saved a ton more money had I had cherries like I used to (I had 30,000 at one time!)
