Can't imagine what will be going through President Obama as the first black President of the United States, when he has to hand over power to such a despicable human being in January. President Obama was gracious in his speech today. He emphasized that despite his differences with Donald Trump he was rooting for his success and just as George W Bush's team was professional and couldn't have been more helpful to ensure a smooth transition despite their differences - his team would do the same. I'm glad both he and Secretary Clinton chose to be gracious and emphasize our similarities instead of reiterating all of the ugly rhetoric we've been hearing for the last 18+ months.

Really? My asking her to explain why she felt I was a bully was bullying? You can't be serious. Oh, is that comment bullying as well? No she is on your side, it's the white man's fault. Keep it up; your posts are spectacularly illustrative.

Do Clinton supporters really think all Trump supporters are racist, uncaring, ignorant and the plethora of other hateful comments that has been stated about Trump supporters? I can't speak for all Clinton supporters, but for myself, I reluctantly say, yes. Yes, I do believe this. Some of the responses in this thread are just confirming it.

Please, I know many of you are upset, but to sit here and make any statements that Trump supporters are bastards, ignorant, uneducated or racists lumps everyone into the same basket. All things I have seen written here, main reason I have stayed away from voicing why I support Trump.
My FB friends that supported Trump basically said all those things about anyone who supported Clinton and are still saying those types of things. I think it's wrong to say that all Trump or Clinton supporters feel this way. We all have our own reasons why we voted the way we did. Trump won, no need for name calling.

Tell me that the Republicans didn't feel the same towards the HILLARY supporters. They abused them just as much if not worse.
People have ears. They heard Trump. His supporters screamed his message to the heavens and back.
All I've been reading is hateful comments, racist (build the wall deport them..) hatefulness and verbal diarrhea over same sex marriage--that some how it's forcing people to do something--NO! It's only been about equality.
From what I'm reading I think that there is going to be a big divide, trump supporters are not interested in what us retarded, stupid, ignorant, gay loving, inclusive, uneducated, bleeding heart libtards think, say, do, or need.

This kind of blanket bullshit about who Trump supporters are is part of the reason the polls were so wrong. People were mad as hell about the way this country was going but didn't want the abuse Hillary supporters gave anyone who let on they were Trump supporters. However, they still voted Trump.

As to whether or not I've lost, we'll have to wait to see how your country's choices affect the global economy as a whole. Otherwise, I'm a disinterested observer.

Unfortunately that's the group of Trump voters that's been most visible and had the most air time. Common sense says you're not all like that but, purely in my opinion, this seemed like a time to look beyond your personal political stance and look at the bigger picture of your country's future and world issues. He is dangerous in a way that no other (US) leader has been or would be - not even Hillary at her worst would be a danger (to yourselves and beyond) in the same sense. I know some have stated that they voted for him despite hating him because they are voting for the Republican platform - I just don't see how you could have ANY faith that he'll actually stick to those values as he seems to change his mind whenever it suits his agenda for that day. I was on a cruise recently where the majority of the guests were Americans. It became very clear to me, very quickly, that the notion of searching outside of the USA border for any information or for international viewpoints was not even a blimp or even a slight consideration. The vast majority thought that only the way anything could be viewed was from an American news source & I was repeatedly told that FOX NEWS was the most reputable source.I was initally stunned by this point of view, but after discussions with others, I came to my own conclusion that the Americans that I talked to were very insular & could not understand why an international news source would add value.
An eye opening experiance for me. I do realize that not all Americans are similar in thought & point of view as I experienced, but this was my experiance that I had. FAUX NEWS, many of us call it. And yes, very many Americans are very insulated in what they hear and therefore what they believe... ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg)

All of you who voted for Trump broke my heart. I have always loved your country. I've visited there a lot, during the last few years about once a year. And I get a lot of grief about that. "Why do you go there? There's no culture or history. People there are too religious / idiots / conservative. They only care about their own country. They don't know anything about the rest of the world." And I've always defended you and your country. I've told about the amazing places I've seen and about the friendly people I've met. During this election I told everyone that I have faith in you. I believed that your country is ready for a female president. That you are ready to leave racism and misogyny behind you and move forward. Today I had to admit to my friends and co-workers that I was wrong. Those stereotypes we have here about the people of your country got stronger today. You don't want to hear the what people here think about this and about the people who voted for him, but the common opinion is a shock. Finns can't believe that so many fell for Trump's lies. Nobody here believes for a second that he can bring back jobs or remove all illegal immigrants. He just yelled the loudest and people fell for it. SOME Americans. Not all. Please don't lump us together.

“I do not believe that this is people saying ‘I couldn’t possibly have a woman in this role.’ This is so much bigger than that. This is about — and I will say it because I have literally nothing left to lose tonight — is that this is literally white supremacy’s last stand in America. This is it. This is what it looks like. This was black people being pushed out of rallies. This is a young boy with cerebral palsy having his wheelchair kicked. … This is hatred on a level that we have not seen since Jim Crow. So you want to talk about whether Hillary Clinton is likable, whether it was about emails — no. We underestimated, as Americans, how deep our hatred was of the other, how deep white uneducated Americans felt about the demographic shift. We underestimated that level of insidious, blind hatred. And what you had was a man who went around, he stoked every fire, he lit every branch, every branch, and just opened the floodgates.” All of this

That is such horseshit. I guess that means you and anyone who voted for Hillary tacitly condones and agrees with her cheating to keep the nomination from Sanders, agrees with the "improprieties" that have followed her every action for 30 years and her sitting back and letting our people in Benghazi die. How I feel is that you're so damn bitter your candidate lost that you can't see or think rationally so you'll just throw out blame. Have fun. Actually I accept the fact that politicians lie and cheat. They all do it, some better than others. The GOP has been trying to convict HRC for the better part of 25 years and come up with nothing. I also believe that Benghazi lies at the feet of the Republicans who would not give funding for extra security despite repeated warnings and requests. So yes, I'm good with everything she has done.

Of course you are. She's your candidate. It's only those who support the other candidate who are wrong. Oh well, in this instance, as long as my candidate won, you can have a good time bashing me and the others who supported him. I'm too busy celebrating to care that a Hillary supporter thinks I'm racist; or sexist; or hateful or whatever your label of the day is.

For me this election has been about the lesser of two evils since Sanders withdrew. Clinton wasn't my candidate, but when the ENTIRE WORLD is saying don't vote Trump, maybe we should listen. And over half of us did. She won the popular vote...

And FWIW, I have a gay brother that I love, support and respect. I love, support and respect his partner. In fact, they are where my kids go if I should die before they are 18. I care what happens to them and their rights. I support their marriage. Just because I didn't support Hillary does not negate the support and love I have for them.

Why? Do American ever tell the Brits who to vote for or not to? The French? The Germans?
Foreign countries have no right to tell us who to vote for and I certainly don't feel any compulsion to listen when they overstep their bounds. Believe me, when those countries want our money, our military aid or personnel or anything else, they ask even if we elected Trump.

Because you have to vote for somebody?!? As I said in another thread: I live in a very red area, and most people I know didn't want to vote for Trump but felt he was the better of the two viable options. If you voted for Trump, you support or tolerate his hatred and bullying towards anyone unlike him. So yes, just by voting. I can't see any other way to explain it. If you (general you) don't support his hate filled rhetoric and bullying ways, how could you (general you) support his behaviour. Would you support or tolerate the same type of behaviour in anyone else in your life? And would you support the corruption, lying, law breaking, that Hillary represented? Would you tolerate you children leaving their friends to die and then telling you that it was some you tube videos fault? Would you tolerate your spouse sexually abusing women for decades and then help him cover it up and destroy those same women? Would you jump into an investment scheme that robbed elderly people of their life savings? Would you take money from people who execute gays and then pretend to be a friend of gays? Would you collect money under th guise of "earthquake relief" for poor blacks people and then keep that money and pay for your daughters $3million wedding? Because your vote for Hillary gives tacit approval to all this, and more. Trump said stupid things. Hillary actually committed crimes and destroyed lives. No contest. If you voted for Hillary, you support all theses behaviors.

I do not "accept" that any candidate lies or cheats. Nor do I condone it. It doesn't matter who else does it.
Personally, I believed that Hillary's election meant more of the Obama presidency. I was not willing to vote for that. Or her.
