I think this is a really sweet story and I know this woman will remember it all her life.
Sometimes when you’re feeling bummed out, it’s nice to get away and take a nice, quiet walk in the woods. And former presidential candidates are no exception.
A New York woman discovered that on Thursday, when she bumped into Hillary Clinton, who was walking her dogs with her husband, Bill, on a trail outside Chappaqua, N.Y. On Wednesday morning, the Democrat delivered her concession speech after a stunning loss to Republican Donald Trump on Tuesday.
Margot Gerster described the encounter in a Facebook post Thursday: “I’ve been feeling so heartbroken since yesterday’s election and decided what better way to relax than take my girls hiking. So I decided to take them to one of favorite places in Chappaqua. We were the only ones there and it was so beautiful and relaxing. As we were leaving, I heard a bit of rustling coming towards me and as I stepped into the clearing there she was, Hillary Clinton and Bill with their dogs doing exactly the same thing as I was.”
“I got to hug her and talk to her and tell her that one of my most proudest moments as a mother was taking Phoebe with me to vote for her. She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries and then I let them continue their walk. Now, I’m not one for signs but I think ill definitely take this one. So proud. #iamstillwithher #lovetrumpshate #keepfighting #lightfollowsdarkness”

So because this person had a photo op with her back in high school, this must be staged? I've run into multiple celebrities more than once where I live. ETA: that pic was taken at a fundraiser hosted by the gals mother when she was in high school. Hillary Clinton was the guest of honor. Doesn't mean they are friends who have kept in contact enough to "stage" a photo op.

I read somewhere that the woman stated that they are neighbors (not sure how directly) in Chappaqua. I've run into my neighbors many times while out and about. Saying she ran into her doesn't have to mean she's never met her before. And lastly, what in the world would they be staging it for? What would Hillary have to gain by taking a picture with another woman in the woods? Color me confused. .

"Hillary Clinton still lying even after loosing"... hahahaha "loosing"... I wish people could learn how to spell.
As for not being able to walk up stairs...where did that even come from?

My husband has been on the same plane as a well-known celebrity (that -- pre-divorce --lived locally and obviously flew in & out of the same airport) THREE times. He has sat next to her on two of those three flights. What are the odds of that?
The fact that two people who live near each other have met twice doesn't surprise me, even if one of them is famous. And it's entirely possible the famous person doesn't recall the first meeting. My DH is a nice and good-looking man, but I'm sure the celebrity he's twice sat next to for hours doesn't remember him at all.
Much to his chagrin. haha

I saw that, I thought it was really sweet. It was nice to see that she has dogs, which makes me question the story of her having a fit about a guard dog (I can't remember the exact story). Hope they are doing ok.

What benefit would there be to her staging this? She lost. She is 69 years old. She will never run for President again, and frankly, I don't see her ever running for political office again. I choose to accept it as a sweet human interest story. And Snowsilver, thanks for posting this. I know from your previous posts that you are not a fan of HRC, so it means more to me to see it come from you. I am feeling in need of positivity this week.

I can totally see someone that has just gone through what Clinton has gone through take a walk through a park. Just because the woman was hiking, doesn't mean Clinton was. She could have been leisurely strolling along enjoying the beauty of fall.

This is precisely the attitude and obsessive kind of hate that I and so many others will no longer tolerate without speaking out. In fact, behavior like yours is exactly what is pushing me to become even more vocal and active against such unwarranted and unnecessary hate. Say anything you want. But I would caution you to choose your words carefully, because with your current words and behavior, you are actually pushing people to fight harder for even more of their rights and freedoms.

I can't believe the ways people are able to research things like this. What was not mentioned in the story, is did Hillary have SS officers with her? I would think that would be part of the story. That was the only thing that was off to me. I applaude Hillary for taking a picture without makeup on, she looks very pretty in the pic.

The lady said she wished she would have asked one of them to take the picture, so Bill was in it as well.

I don't understand why it would matter even if she had met her before. You can unexpectedly bump into anyone, whether you know them or not. And you can have a moment together whether you have ever previously met them before as well. Thanks for sharing the story, OP.

That would be a stunning surprise!
During the last week leading up to the election, I thought Hillary seemed so genuinely happy. The results must be very hard for her.
It would be wonderful if she can rally and work with this administration somehow.
I don't know if that's possible, but it's something I would like to see.

So, you're saying that they've met before? I kind of assumed that if they could run into each other while walking in woods near their homes that they could have met before. Secret Service must still be around President Bill Clinton. Not everyone would be allowed to get so close to them. It's going to be even harder for the Clintons to get out and go for a walk now that people know where they might be. Getting their pictures in the news at the cost of this privacy hardly seems like a trade-off worthy of a set-up.

Leggings!!! No pantsuit! Ha ha!
She looks tired but softer. She looks like a regular person going about her day.

I think HRC stole my dog! Seriously her dog looks a lot like mine from what I can see lol.
I love it, she looks very relaxed. I hate that she's not going to be our next President, but I hope she is now enjoying time with her family.
