Does it bother you to have single page layouts in your album because the facing pages don't match? It doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm taking Shimelle's new class and she does mostly single pages and someone mentioned on the message board about perferring double page layouts because not wanting 2 pages together that don't match. I just wondered if a lot of people felt that way. It's just something that I never really thought about.

I scrap both, especially in my travel albums, but it doesn't bother me at all. I may be mindful of it, and use coordinating colors, but I don't scrap in order, so there are no guarantees.

This is me exactly. I waaayyy don't scrap in chronological order. Lots of times my facing pages will have similar color schemes if I'm scrapping from a certain group of photos, but I don't care if they don't.

I do both single page and double page layouts. and I don't care if the single pages don't match. I also don't scarp in order, so they go in the book in the order I do them. Not by date. But my mom though, she scrapbooks chronologically and her single pages HAVE to match each other. Everyone is different.

I am trying to tell my story on my layouts, so matching pages is the least of my thoughts. I do mostly single pages. In fact sometimes I do double pages that don't even match each other!
I remember when this was a concern people had, and I also recall when people hated the 3 ring binder because the pages didn't meet up at the bind, but again, my eye manages to move across the rings fairly fluidly.
So no, like many others, this is not a concern for me at all.

I don't have many pages that don't match because I usually do double paged layouts. I am a little camera happy. It doesn't bother me though if they don't match.

I have lots of both single and double pages. My singles don't match, but I do try to make sure that the colors are at least compatible and don't clash.

It doesn't bother me either. I'm lucky to get the layouts into an album.
A few years ago, Shimelle had a class where you take a collection, cut it into pieces and create base pages/starting points, then come in and add pictures, then lettering & journaling then embellishing. So I used a fancy pants collection for this. I don't scrap chronologically but I do work with pics within a season (it's how I order prints) and there's this one section of my album there are 10 out of 15 pages where I used this collection. That kind of bothers me. If the pictures were all from one event, it would be fine but they don't - they are spread over a 2-3 month period. It's so weird when I come across this section in my album.

I used to be a dedicated double-page scrapper, but now I'm embracing the freedom of single pages My double pages, weren't so much formal double pages with design elements going across the two, although sometimes they were. They were more just perfectly matched with identical background paper and supplies and usually all about the same event or person. Now I'm much less rigid about whether or not the supplies coordinate or if the facing page is about the same event. I just do whatever is appropriate to the story. I've also been using pocket pages when I have lots of photos...and if I do a facing pocket page, I sometimes like to bring the supplies across to the facing page if it's appropriate. That said, I still shop as though I'm a double-page scrapper...two matching pieces of every patterned paper

I usually scrap double page LO's, or at least two pages that are linked in some way. Sometimes they are about the same person; sometimes they tell similar stories about different people or from different times. And I usually coordinate the colours in some way.
I use 3 ring binders, so my pages are separated by the rings and the gutters of the page protectors, so they don't need to flow perfectly as if they are one page. Also, this format makes it easy for me to move pages around however I am organizing them--usually chronologically. It also allows me to leave out a page if I don't have a partner just now for the one I have just created.
I wouldn't worry taking a class to design a single page. I might use it for the beginning or end of my album, or I might design a coordinating page later for the facing page. I take lots of photos, so I could always face a one page design with a PL sleeve protector and fill it in with pics.

I have done a lot more single page layouts this year, as I've taken a couple of Shimelle's classes. I scrap a lot of doubles as well, as most of my scrapping is travel, and I take way too many photos. My biggest issue with combining the two comes with having the right mix of pages, so I don't have a random blank page in an album, Because I tend to use neutral backgrounds - I did try a couple with PP for the current class though - I feel like the pages blend at least. If I know two pages are going to sit together in an album, like the first two for the current Shimelle class, then I will put a bit of thought into making them co ordinate.

I've never had a problem with two facing pages not matching or even not clashing - until after I read that comment about double page spreads. The next page I was working on had a very different look and feel to the page it would sit opposite and I found myself changing some of my supply choices so the two pages wouldn't be so jarring together and distract from the story.

I'm like you OP, doesn't bother me at all, never really thought about it. I don't scrap chronologically but my albums are chronological so anything could end up anywhere! I also make a mix of single and double pages (although mostly single)

I do single and double and sometimes quadruple layouts. I don't scrap chronologically but try to place layouts as close to chronological in my albums that I can. Definitely couldn't care about matching facing pages are I'd be a basket case!

I do pretty much all single page layouts, so no, it definitely doesn't bother me.
It would stress me to try to always have matching double page layouts.

Not at all. I do not actually care for double page layouts so for me there is no issue, I generally only take a couple of photos at a time so stretching out the content over two pages is a struggle.

I pretty much only do 2-pg spreads for 2-pg challenges so 99.9% of my scrapping is single pages. my layouts go willy nilly in my albums as they are completed and I don't do themed or special albums for anything. so, no, I don't care a whit if facing pages coordinate.
if I were a non-scrapper looking at two facing pages with coordinating colors or supplies, I would think they went together. so to me, I think this method is more confusing to the looker than if the pages are completely different. JMO

I don't scrap chronologically but I do put my layouts in my albums by date (if I know it). The only time it bothers me is if I have them in order and the two pager layout is in one sleeve. I'd prefer them to be in two sleeves so I can see both at the same time, not have to flip the page over to see the second page.

Until last week I had only done single pages facing each other once before and made them coordinate very well. This time, the pages are similar but don't coordinate. And I don't care anymore

Yes, no, and sometimes. In a perfect world I would have 6 different photos from the event or day or what have you. Then I can use them to do a two-page layout. Now I am lucky to have one photo layouts. I haven't taken a lot of photos lately. Now I do mainly single page layouts, though.

Most of my single pages are next to a pocket page and I do co-ordinate them. I didn't use to do this, but when I started adding in pocket pages it made the overall look of my album nicer if I kept to the same colors, ect. There not matchy-matchy, but they go together. I also scrap chronologically, so this is pretty easy to do.
