Do you remember his name and where you went?
For me his name was David and we went to a movie. We stayed friends for 60 years. Over the years we became more like brother and sister. Always close. Yes. My first love.

Absolutely! Even remember what I wore (jeans & a burgundy velour top w/a satin collar, thankyouverymuch). We went to the movies to see Rocky II and then to Friendly's for a burger. His name was Michael. We never stayed friendly, but we have mutual friends, so I know he's doing well.

My first date was junior prom with Dean. We didn't date after prom but have stayed great friends and see each other every few months around town or when high school friends get together.
Now, first boyfriend? Never saw him again after we broke up. Chicago's a big town!

Sure do. His name was Patrick. We went to his friend's surprise birthday party and then to the mall and to see a movie, U571.
We've been together for 14 years this May and married for 5 of those.

Yes, his name was Stephen, and we went to see one of the Planet of the Apes movies - I don't remember which one. It was an older, run-down theater, and a mouse ran across my foot halfway through the movie! Funny, I remember that a lot more vividly than the movie. We went out for pizza after, then stopped at the local dairy dip to get lemon slushes.
My teens giggle hysterically when I describe dating in the 70s, especially when they see pictures of the clothes and hairstyles.

I was 15 - his name was Scott and we went to the movies to see Eddie Murphy's Coming to America movie! He was 19 - I still can't believe my parents let me go! Lol

My first official date would have been to the 8th grade Mardi Gras ball at school - also with a David. I wore a Gunni Sax dress - not one of the floral explosions. It was a bright blue tea length strapless dress with a black lace cutout that I wouldn't dare wear today (I didn't have much to hide back then).
We stayed friends, but it was never more.

My first date was with Karl, the son of the school nurse. I am frustrated that I can't remember more details- one of the reasons I encourage my girls to journal. I think we went to a movie and I know I was invited to his house for dinner. I remember t hat being ackward. We dated for a little while and then I was childish, who isn't At 15? I moved away the following year. When I started a FB account he sent me a message to say hi and tell me about his family. He sounded like he grew up to be a wonderful family man. Nice to think back to those days as tgey are pleasant memories.

I was 16 and his name was Toby. We went bowling. We were great as friends, not as anything more. We still keep in touch via FB and class reunions.

Yes, his name is Andy. We went to the movies though I don't remember which one. We dated for 6 months with a few break ups. Six months after the final one he wanted to get back together, but I said no. He then friended my sister (1.5 years younger than me). I thought that was weird. I tried to friend him on FB, but he said no.

I had a habit of becoming friends with a guy first and then with a couple of them it developed into romance, so I can't say I actually remember when the shift from fun time together to actual date happened. I do remember one friend being very clear about the fact that we were going on a real date, not just hanging out as friends. That was kind of an aha moment for me. We went to a dance and I ended up deciding I liked him better as a friend than as a date. I eventually married another friend. He and I had been friends for about a year. I just woke up one day and thought I would be a total idiot if I didn't marry him. He wasn't just a great friend, he was a wonderful man, and he made me feel safe and loved every single day. I told him if he asked me to marry him I wouldn't say no. 27 years later I'm really glad I told him that because he did ask and we are living happily ever after!

We went to the fair, I threw up after going on The Zipper and Loop o Planes and was in the bathroom for a long time... then we sat in the stadium watching a free concert of some sort and walked home. Unbelievably he asked for a second date, and we've been married for 30+ years!

Yes. I was 17 and we went to a football game. He was a really sweet guy. I wonder what ever happened to him? I've Googled him and searched on FB, but he's not to be found.
OOPS! I forgot to tell you his name. Jake. Actually, that was his nickname since his last name was Jacobsen or Jacobson.

I was about 20 when I had my first "official" date. It was awkward. The food and service was bad at the restaurant and there was really no chemistry between us. We've remained friends though.

8th grade Valentine's Day dance. John Snell. We grew up together. Lived near eachother, played little league together, etc. He wore a sweater and slacks. I wore one of those one piece outfit jumpers popular in 1991 with boots. He picked me up (his grandpa drove). So wanted to kiss him but didn't. We went to high school and college together. He was my grad mate in high school. We reconnected on facebook and then had a falling out.

A soccer club disco. His name was Chris. I was 11, and had a crush on his older brother Patrick. He bought me some spearmint chewing gum and held my hand. Sweet.

My first official date- I was a Jr in high school. It was a dance. His name was James. I had a huge crush on him, we had a nice dinner and went to the dance did pictures and then went somewhere and walked around and talked till very early in the morning. He came from a military family, we stayed friends after that but then lost touch when his family got transferred before he graduated. I was very sad.

I was 15 and we went out for pizza. I can picture him but for the life of me I can't remember his name. He was two years older than me and he had a brother my sister's age named Tracy.

I feel bad because I have zero recollection of my first date and I'm not that old! That being said, I also didn't date until later in life i.e. in my late teens/early twenties. I made up for lost time once I started though, which is probably why I've lost track of the first date..LOL!

I was 16, he was 18, and we went to a Bible Study on the college campus where he was going. We watched Quantum Leap after the devotional. His best friend (the one who introduced us) came with us!
We've been married 16 years!

My first real date was when I was going into Grade 8 so I suspect I was 13? My boyfriend Rick and I went to see the movie Poltergeist. He had already seen it and told me when to look away. We were friends on Facebook for a while but his rehab problems were tiring.

I was 16 and his name was Tim. We went to the movies to see Indecent Proposal. We dated about a year, but we were never a good match and it was doomed. I broke up with him by moving away. I've never regretted it. Matter of fact, I'm soooooo happy we didn't stay together.
