Let's share a pic! I love to see other scrappers rooms/craft areas, but I think my favorite thing to see in them is the place they store their favorite, go-to tools.
I keep mine in an All My Memories Tote-ally Cool Tote, and I love that thing. It spins, it's portable and holds a ton of stuff. I also like to attach little pretties to it. If I didn't attend crops I'd probably spread the tools out into much prettier vintage containers in my room, but I need portability.
So what do you use? Is it portable, or does it live in a corner on your work area? Just something you recycled from elsewhere in the house, or something you bought? Strictly functional or all doo-dadded up? Share with us, we scrappers are a nosy bunch!

Hi,Lisa,
I have had that same tote for years, but I got tired of looking into it to find things that had disappeared to the bottom. Maybe I am not organizing it correctly, but things always slipped down.
I recently purchased a tool tote from Hobby Lobby(I don't know how to post pics), and it doesn't spin, but I really like it because I can easily see into it. Michaels has a similar one, too. I scrap regularly with a group of girlfriends, so I want to have a tote I can grab and go.

This is what I use and it sits out all the time and goes with me - an overhead shot and the side with the scissors always faces me:

Great minds think alike! I just posted a suggestion for an organization sub board for posts like this. I too am always looking for the best ways to store various things. I'm not quite ready yet to actually implement anything until my space is finished, so I want to be able to go back to all of these organization threads in a few months once my buildout is done. Maybe if a few more of us chime in, we can get a board just for threads like this one. Right now, I have a couple things that I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of. One is my pink EK Success tool bag. I ditched the Fastenator tool that came with it and replaced the Cutterpede trimmer with my thinner, flatter trusty old gray Fiskars trimmer. I bought several little pencil boxes at Michael's that fit perfectly inside to hold all of my smaller tools. I've dragged that thing everywhere! The other thing I used until I wore it out was a three sided CIS pen holder thing. It folds flat for travel and velcros open to stand up on my desk. I used it so long the elastic loops wore out, but a friend of mine wasn't using hers so she gave me three more! One holds a whole set of SU markers plus a bunch of EK Writers, a second one holds a whole set of Adirondack markers with lots of empty loops. The third one is in my closet waiting until I need to replace one of the others. I can't wait until my studio is done so I can unpack the rest of my stuff and get it organized once and for all. I refuse to buy any new organizers until I have had a chance to sort through my stuff.

Not home to post a picture but I use the pampered chef tool utensils caddy. It's not pretty but it holds a lot of stuff and spins... Looking forward to seeing how everyone else does it.....

I'm glad the OP started this thread. I'm looking for something to carry my CTMH stamps in when I go to my consultants workshops. I don't need to carry many, maybe 5-8 so I'll be keeping an eye on the responses here.

I have two of these and they're great! If I get a chance later I'll post a pic. I prettied mine up with patterned paper, Doodlebug silk flowers and big polka dot brads. Turned out pretty cute!

jamh Is your new tote that grey one with the chevron pattern? Those are cute, and I have a few like that too that stay in my room holding ink and less-used tools. They're great.
sbartist I notice you and a lot of us carry multiple scissors, I wonder why? Lol, I have 2 cutter bees I carry everywhere when I really only need one. Plus a pair of larger scissors!
crazy4scraps I love that idea! Scrapbooking is a hobby that really requires organizing stuff. And I had that EK tool bag a few years ago, but mine had an awful chemical smell when I opened it. I washed it, febreezed it, but nothing ever worked and I sold it at a yard sale. I liked it, but couldn't take the smell, lol! I also sold my pen holder, I never used it. The marker set I have came in it's own nice case.
woodysbetty I've seen those Pampered Chef caddies and they look awesome. Spinning is definitely a feature I need. I also have the Pottery Barn Kids spinning caddy from years ago- love that thing.

LOL - they go hiding and sometimes it is quicker to just grab another pair out of the tote! I also use the pointed tip to help position items on my page.

I have that little tote and I love it for away-from-home crops. When I get home, I'm going to pull it off the shelf and start using at my desk. Your tote is adorable! Maybe I'll decorate mine, too!

Thanks pamc . That one is the largest version, but I was gifted the matching medium and super tiny ones too. I found them too small to be much use, especially the littlest one. Long ago sold at a yard sale, even though it killed me to sell them- they were cute and matched!! But I'm much better now, years later, about using what works for how I scrap, rather than how I want my organization to look. (Although I still want it to be pretty!)

WOW I'm in AWE!!! BUT inquiring minds want to know---how heavy is that little ditty-- and what kind of goodness do you pack?? is there a flat iron in there for ribbon? A hot glue gun or Embossing gun?? how about a cricut expressions?? <BIG CHEESY GRIN> I DO LOVE IT!! I have a plain blcack on that I haven't had out in ages-- I've been using the white wood one that spins on my desk- or if I go somewhere I have a little plastic tool kit (like a shoe box size with a handle) Inevitably, I've left the important tool at home.... Maybe tonight I"ll revisit this dilema....?

crazy4scraps-- love it, I love the pink!! lol st1tches1 Nope, don't even own a die-cut machine, no glue gun or flat-iron! But yeah, pretty much everything else is in there and it's kinda heavy, but not bad. I take it to my LSS and friends' a lot. My girlfriend has one too, not as stuffed as mine, but you can fit a lot in all those pockets! I have: AC mini stapler, large size mini-stapler, staple refills, trimmer blades, markers, pens, pencil, a metal tool box kit, acrylic blocks, scissors, pop and glue dots, adhesives, tape, adhesive removers, adhesive refills, Perfect Layers, distressers, rub-on tools, glue, inkers, rubber date stamps, a corner rounder, tweezers, Glossy Accents, wipes, rulers, white-out, a file set, hole punchers, a bone folder, a CM Titletopia, and an ATG gun (gifted to me- it's too big!). Plus little flowers, buttons and trinkets I've collected stuck on it. And I pretty much use every darn thing in there! At home it sits right on my desk in arm's reach.

I am at work too so no pics now , but I have the same tote in black and it is decorated too. I love that it spins. My friend bought a lazy susan like you put in your cabinet for spices that she sits her tote on. Works good for her.

Mine is a cup from Universal Studios that says "Butterbeer" on it and had, in fact, butterbeer in it when I got it. That's it. It has one pair of blue Cutterbees, several journalling pens, a white marker, and an 8" clear ruler.

I actually have this tote that I cart all my heavy stuff around in when I go to crops. It's not tall enough for my 12x12 card stock, but that thing is a beast - it can bear a lot of weight. Back to my Store-n-Spin, it does hold a ton of stuff (all my pens & pencils, scissors, Glue Glider Pro, ruler, erasers, tweezers, tiny attacher . . . ). My pic doesn't do it justice. Yes, LisaDorothy, that is my CM trimmer. I actually bought the trimmer so it would fit in the bucket. Can't rave about that thing enough!

Trying to attach a pic of my other favorite tool caddy. Again, I apologize for the waaay too big pic. I love this thing, too. Holds a ton - glue dots, misc. adhesives, tiny stamps, CM cutting system, alpha rub-ons, stamp cleaner & pad, 2 stamp pads, distressing tools, misc. sundries needed when I'm at a crop . . . Ignore my messy scrap space, please.

Following along! I have an AMM Tote like the OP, that I also use for my must-have-on-hand stuff. But I'm about to move into my new Workbox, and I don't think I'm going to be able to fit that since it's so vertical... so, I'm looking for new ideas! I have the horizontal AMM like the one Tiffany posted-I hadn't thought of switching to that! Not sure if the footprint will be too big, but very happy for the idea! Thanks!
I have been thinking about one of those jetmax-type white rotating desktop organizers, but I have a feeling there's just not enough space in it. Does anyone use one of those, and does it hold enough stuff or do you need more than one desktop container for your most-used stuff? TIA!

st1tches1 Perfect Layers is a matting tool, they look a lot like clear rulers. You use them with an Xacto and cutting mat, they make perfect mats every time. And my sharpies to the left are in a tiny enamel pot with 2 handles- is that a bean pot?? I just grab the whole pot and throw it in a tote bag to go crop. I never thought of a baby wipe container for storage, that's a great idea!
FurryP Those totes would be great! And they are cute. I bet Iris photo holders would fit in there nicely.
