Notice we all keep hanging around despite being left with the "not so nice and kind" among you. I don't know why we liberals have to take the blame for the fact that a handful of conservative peas were thin skinned. No one can be "run off" who doesn't want to be. If I can put up with you, rainbow, Gia and that button person, they could certainly have put up with the few of us who are sharp-edged. There IS discussion here and plenty of it. We've actually had a pretty civil one over on your heartbeat bill thread. What there is not is tolerance for fake news sources and "I heard" being used as evidence in discussions, and that causes some people to get mad and feel like they're being picked on. From the conservative side, there is no tolerance for any liberal assertion that some ideas are racist, misogynist or otherwise morally wrong. We are not allowed to make moral judgements. Only conservatives on this board are apparently allowed to make moral judgements. So I call BS on the idea that people left because of the "ugliness of the Trump haters." They left because they were bothered by having their beliefs challenged and didn't like being asked to support what they asserted with facts. And they'll probably be back if they're not already. I know you're not interested in my opinion, Lauren. Just throwing it out there for the sake of discussion.  You're not worth responding to, honestly. When sweet, kind people like Jody leave because of how she's treated by people she thought were her friends, your comments about them being thin skinned show just how awful a person you are. Trumps got nothing on you in that area. The more I hang around the more I'm disgusted by people like you. I really got stay off threads where you are from now on. I'll take Skybar, Jody, Margaret and a slew of nice conservatives over disgusting people who pretend they're nice...but only to those who agree with them. I guess I'm thin skinned too because I find myself wishing you ill and hoping you get treated in life the way you treated these people.. I think it's time for me to really just stop reading and responding to anything other than the IP threads. Actually, they already are. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the pod😜 We thought we would never have to talk about Trump again. Unfortunately, we were wrong. I'm not in the least "mad". I'm disgusted. And why aren't they here? They were part of the 2 peas family for many, many years. They left during the election cycle. I happened to know for a fact why Jody left. And it's exactly what I said: people, including you, that she thought were her friends being so hateful about her being a conservative or voting for Trump. How do I know? I'm in touch with her. She is a very gentle, sweet, woman who happens to be devout in her Christian beliefs and who voted in accordance with her conscience. Remember comments like "any one who votes for Trump is Hitler. Or is ignorant. Or hates women", blah, blah, blah. You were not the sole cause of these people leaving but your comments certainly contributed. Lauren, I never made any of those blanket statements about Trump voters. I made a point of not making them. Not here, not on FB. Never. She only attacks liberals. Defends those who attack liberals. She NEVER calls out, stalks, and dredges up posts where others have said crap to a more liberal. Heck she even defends Lauren on her "hope it happens to you" rampages. She herself likes plenty of threads where others are being demeaned or attacked. She just thinks she's more clever at getting away with it. You can like any post you want merge, it's done all the time, and it doesn't mean that you are saying the words that are written by someone else. I've "liked" posts where I might not agree with every single word, but in the context at that moment I might like it as support just to the poster. |
