OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware) had a lot, and some very pretty, if you have one near you. I was just there in the last few days.

Our Ace Hardware has a much better selection than most of the larger stores. I also think Lowe's has a pretty decent selection. When I looked, Walmart only had the crummy plastic ones.

I saw a pretty glass one at Walmart in the spring. Our Ace Hardware usually has some too.

We have had two that we have gotten from Lowe's. The first one we ditched because the squirrels removed the yellow plastic flowers. Then the bees just kept drinking all of the sugar water. We now have the red glass one, and love it. The bees can't get into it, the squirrels have left it alone, and we don't color the sugar water as the glass itself is colored. I have two of the one on the bottom and they are working out just great. I use crisco spray on the hanger to repel ants and other insects. I apply it each time I clean the feeders and replace nectar about every 4 days.

Yes,I have used olive oil spray and it works too. The bugs get caught in the sticky spray, then kind of squirm around and fall off or go back to where they came from.Needs repeated,of course,if it rains.I make my own nectar,1 part sugar to 4 parts water, bring to a bubble, then cool. I use 1 cup of sugar and 4 cups of water.no coloring,as it is unhealthy for the hummers.

I found a glass feeder similar to the red one that was posted at a local nursery. It looks nice on my patio,, and many hummingbirds have been attracted to it. In fact, there is one sipping on it as I'm typing this.
Thanks for the tip on spraying the hanger as an ant deterrent. After having a feeder up for several years without incidence, I found ants this past week. I sprayed their path with a chemical repellant, but I'd much rather try a *natural* remedy. I will be sure to use it if those pesky ants come back.

Ooooooooooooh, I like that second one! I'll have to stop by Lowes and see what they have. I'll check Ace as well. Thanks everyone!

You might want to look into getting an ant moat too. It's kind of like an inverted plastic lid from a spray can. It attaches between the feeder and hook and prevents the ants from getting to the feeder. Works great!

I bought one at Home Depot several years ago. I'm guessing that they're out of stock because it's so late in the summer.

I have the bottom red glass one and I love it. I also have one that looks like a cowboy boot that I think was purchased at Tractor Supply. Both were gifts so I'm not positive where they came from.

We did not use a hummingbird feeder this year and instead have hanging baskets with different kind of red flowers in them. Them hummingbirds seem to enjoy them and we don't have to mix up food, or worry about ant/bees getting in the feeders. The sun would make the feeder hot sometimes and I worried about the little things getting burned or a breakdown of nutrition from being in the heat. I think that we will do the hanging baskets again next year. It has worked far better for us.

I haven't had any Hummingbirds yet and I was wondering if it was because the glass is clear and the nectar that I bought is clear. But I am guessing that by this response, that is not why. Any ideas?

This feeder is the one I just purchased from Amazon this week. So far my hummingbirds seem to like it! They are amongst my favorite birds.

There's a website that specializes in hummingbird feeders.

Really, the color doesn't matter. My dad has 5 hummingbird feeders, and the food and glass are clear. He literally has hundreds of hummingbirds come. He can't even put up the feeders without them swarming his head. It's really cool. But with that said, I am not sure why you are not getting any hummingbirds. Are you making your nectar or buying it pre-made? Dad and I make our own nectar.

I have the smaller version of this - I think it's 12 ounces - and I (and our local hummers) LOVE it. I couldn't find one locally so I wound up buying it from Amazon. We've had up to 4 feeding at a time on it, with others doing fly-bys waiting for their turn.

I haven't seen a single hummingbird. I'm guessing it's because I don't have any flowers planted near the feeder.

I don't have flowers planted near the feeder. Sometimes you have to move the feeder to various locations to find the right spot. Sometimes it depends on the hummingbirds' path of migration.

I saw the antique bottle feeder at Hobby Lobby earlier in the summer. That's the one I have, also, but it was purchased from Amazon.
