Am I the last person on earth to get a smartphone? When my last contract was up my oldest dd needed a new phone so I gave her the new iPhone that I would have gotten I've been stuck with this lame LG ... no texting capabilities ... nothing All of my friends make fun of me ... and make fun of dh for not buying me a new phone He found this old phone in our house and took a photo saying that this was "Leanne's new phone" Seriously, the goal is to get me a new iPhone before Christmas ... finally

Oh, I remember those phones! We thought we were stylin' with those! LOL. My family never had one, but I remember seeing them and thinking how cool they looked.

That's actually a really cute picture.
I gave my daughter my iphone and she gave me her old samsung. While I like the $50/a month plan I have I hate the phone I have. I tried to trade back with her, but she won't do it.

If you are then I am too. So far I don't see the need. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. Books, music and travel for me. I have a computer at home. Why do I need one on my phone too? A phone is to call someone or have someone call you. That's it as far as I'm concerned.

I just got an iPhone last month. So glad I did. I don't feel as if I'm in the Dark Ages anymore.

Leanne, that pic is priceless! But yeah, if you waited this long, wait just a little bit longer for the iPhone 6 coming in fall. They're supposed to be a bit bigger and a bunch of new features!! I'm so excited!

I still have a slider phone - but am considering breaking down and getting a smart phone this year. Shhhhhh - I don't have cable either!

No, not the last - another dinosaur here. The only techy phone we have is DH's cell phone... and it stinks, in my humble opinion. We even still have a landline - but we do have wireless extensions. lol

I still have a dumb phone too. I can text though. The only thing I feel I would really use on a newer phone would be the map feature. Who am I kidding- I never really go anywhere anyway!

I don't own a smart phone, I don't even have texting turned on on my cell phone because of the auto-correct (you have to turn it off every single time you write a message). I have a computer with a huge monitor (DH is a gamer) and am home most of the day...
Not being able to text me drives a few of my friends nuts but they aren't paying my phone bill.

I remember having a phone like that. Remember bag phones? My first cell phone was a bag phone! I was an OT and doing home health. The company wanted us to have the phone in case we needed to contact the patient's doctor or nurse. Of course, I had to pay for the thing!

Love the picture! I remember my brother having one of those.
as far as a smartphone goes you can add me to the list of dinosaurs. I have a very basic flip phone which I'm more then happy with. DH has been talking about upgrading to IPhones but we have my parents on our plan and we would have to upgrade them also. At 87 they need an IPhone even less then I do so not happening anytime soon.

My first mobile was a bag phone! I had started college and my dad worried about me driving back and forth in an old car (a 1978 Ford Fairmont). There was a promotion to donate $25 to Ronald McDonald House and receive a free car phone. My dad did and signed me up. Seemed funny to have something so modern and rare (at the time) and be driving a 12 year-old car!

I just barely got an android smart phone about 3 months ago. I know it's a Samsung but couldn't tell you the model. We have a very limited data plan, so I don't do much with it.

Great pic!
You are not the last to get a smart phone. One of our most popular seniors last year didn't even have a cell phone!

No, you're not the last. My work cell is a smartphone but work pays for it. I have no need for one personally. I don't even have texting enabled on my personal phone.

I have a dumb phone too. It is smart enough to text, but that's about as far as it goes. I have a 4G Kindle that I almost always have with me so I just don't feel the need to duplicate things.
Love the picture!

A couple of people have said already. I don't own a cell phone and will not own a cell phone. If someone want to talk to me or I to someone use my good ole land line. I know I know what happens if I'm alone in the car and need someone. I hope a kind soul will stop and call 911 on their cel phone LOL.

Hahaha great pic! I had no idea what a bag phone was, I just googled it. I thought it was just a big bulky phone for your bag lol!

Dark ages here. I continue to carry my old flip phone. We were part of the Sprint Pioneer Plan in 1997. We traded up twice so my current phone is from 2007. For the life of this plan I have paid NO monthly fee. I will keep this old relic til it dies a natural death. Actually I have two so that could be a while. When these phones die then my plan will no longer be honored. Works for me. I know that Sprint has been working on a way to cancel this plan. I'm sure it is a thorn in their biz plan. I doubt that there are many of us old timers left hanging on.

My husband has a slider phone. It was all I could do to get him to use a phone with a keyboard. He has no intentions of ever getting an iPhone, but he sure does love to use mine for the GPS when he needs to look at a map .

My first phone was installed in the car. Then I got a bag phone and eventually the phone in your picture. My dad accidentally drove over it with his Duelly and I still worked. Crazy! I remember not being able to use it except for emergencies because it was per min.
