BFF said she would watch Silhouette videos for me and take the class and explain how to use it. I have no concentration and I can't follow directions to save my soul right now. (I am really sick). So that's what I want to do in the new year. Have her teach me the Silhouette. You know the old old old original one. amblet because she is special like that. So sorry your sick! Hugs and prayers!

My crafty goals for 2017 are:
1) use that geli plate that has sat unopened for the last 2 years!! 2) participate in get it scrapped March Calvinball with at least 20 layouts and hopefully 40. 3) Christmas in July crafting month. Fixing dd stocking, banners, Christmas tags, maybe some gifts. 4) learn to use my new 3-D printer. 5) make a quilt or 2.

My mists and watercolors. When I see others use them it's so pretty, when I use them it's a big mess of color vomit I say it again - those of us that are "scrapbook supply challenged" need very detailed how to videos - not just process videos where we see the experts use it so perfectly, we need one where someone will show us why ours turns out to be color vomit and their's is so darn pretty. Missy Whidean (I know I misspelled her last name!) is good with watercolored backgrounds or with using the plastic packaging technique to color the background. She made a comment in one of her videos that I recently watched that made so much sense about keeping the colors from looking like mud. She said that if you are using complementary colors, you need to be really careful not to overlap them because they will run together and make an ugly brownish shade. Other colors can run together and be fine, think red tones and yellow tones which will make orange hues, but complementary colors make something not so pretty. SaveSave

SaveSaveGot the same advice from Dyan Reaveley. She divides the paints and mists into "warm" colours (those surrounding ORANGE on the colour wheel) and "cool" colours (those surrounding BLUE). If you stay within each "colour family" you can mix or blend any of them to get a pleasing result. Crossing the line can result in "mud". The ones you have to test are the purples and yellows, b/c on the wheel, a particular shade may be warm or cool. I played with mists a lot after taking her class, but have not done much lately. That's why one of my goals is to get inky again!

And I also have some new tools to learn how to use (and some older neglected ones that need to be dusted off). Did you see Delta Dawn's thread on dieting scrapbookers' tracking progress? I like your Christmas in July idea. Would be cool to share ideas and progress on that one on this board.

The tools I've bought and haven't found time to use. 2017 is the year of memory keeping though, I can feel it.

I will start a Christmas in July thread in July. Probably a prelude thread in late May, eatly June.

I am not sure if THIS class will help me use up stash, or covet new products, but I am signed up.

I am not sure if THIS class will help me use up stash, or covet new products, but I am signed up. I am so tempted to take this one! I enjoy double page spreads a lot so that is a real plus for me and I like sketches. However, I have so many classes that I have signed up for but not done anything with, and I am a member of BPC. On the other hand, it's easy to spend $25 (the price of the class) on scrap supplies and just let them sit there, too, so if I spent that money on this class instead at least I would be using up some stuff and making my way through all the stories that I want to tell. What's a girl to do?? SaveSave
