I think most would agree the heyday of scrapping is over (for now at least) and while I still scrap, I really miss having real life friends that do and all the crops there used to be to go to (I got my start going to Creative Memories crops)
Is there anything you miss about Scrapbookings heydays?

I miss all of the brick and mortar stores that I could visit with my friends. Shopping online just isn't the same to me. I also miss all of the crops that I used to attend with friends; in fact, a lot of them don't even scrapbook anymore.

myboysnme, I love that I'm in you siggy. I finally feel like a real pea. I miss the magazines and the drive I had to be published. But after I got published, I realized I had too much anxiety to send my layouts through the mail and that it didn't pay anything. I also miss the crops and all the scrap stores.

I miss that everyone scrapped. Now, if I say I like to scrapbook, I feel like people think i have nothing better to do.

1) Simple Scrapbooks and Scrapbooks, etc 2) working at a scrapbook store 3) having a big group of friends in person that met up every Friday at the LSS to eat junk and crop 4) the excitement of being a part of something so thriving and 5) TWO PEAS IN A BUCKET! I miss it already. Just the logo alone makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

I miss Archivers brick and mortar store. I enjoyed cropping, shopping and seeing the new products. I still have Michaels, Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's. It's just not the same.

I miss going to crops with my real life friends. Only 2 of them still scrapbook and only at twice a year retreats. Where are you in Minnesota? I'm in extreme northwest Iowa (about 40 miles south of Luverne) and we have retreats twice a year...if it ever worked for you to come

I feel as if I am evolving out of scrapbooking as it's evolving itself out of marketable trends. With that in mind, I'll miss the great friendships I've made over the year's IRL and OL.

The Buzz. And everything that went into creating the Buzz: the excitement over anything and everything New, the calls, constant toots, and encouragement.

Scrapbook Expo. I loved seeing all the new products and the classes that were offered. Sometimes we'd even get a few scrapbook celebrities that would teach. The crops were huge and so much fun.

I miss all the excitement of the new releases at CHA before all scrapbooking companies decided to start doing sneak peeks on the Internet.

I miss having a variety of LSS to choose from. There were more classes, more kinds of products, and more people to scrap with.

Yes, I think I am going to have to agree with "magazines," although my Barnes and Noble carries a lot of the imports, and I am more into cards these days, so there are still some to read.
My CTMH rep has monthly crops, so I don't really miss that aspect. Actually, I've been to those more than I ever was to Archivers'. (I just always spent way too much at A's.) I'd be happy to invite all of you but I am pretty sure almost none of you live by me.

I miss having real magazines to flip through. I'm glad we have some online options now, but it's just not the same. I also miss all the excitement of going to CHA back in the heyday of scrapbooking when there was so much cool stuff to choose from and all the innovative tools were coming out. I haven't gone in years. My membership lapsed a number of years ago, and even though I could still join back up I don't think it would even be the same experience anymore now that so many of the companies have closed or merged with other companies.

I miss scrapbooking being everywhere and all the time. During the heyday there were at least ten LSS in the Greater Houston Metro area, and every single one of them had crops and classes. No matter where I was, in or around the city, there was a LSS to drop in to and check out. And picking which of many Friday night crops to go to was an actual dilemma. Not to mention the big events and crop marathons at hotels, convention centers, community centers, and church halls that happened most every month. Back in the day, scrapbooking was such a big thing that I had to pick and choose because there was no way to do it all. Now, we are lucky to have 2-3 LSS in the area and maybe that many big crops or events in a year.

I miss the crops, the excitement of waiting on all the new products coming out and visiting LSS's where each one would have something different for me to drop wads of cash in. And definitely the magazines. I also liked that SO many people were into it.

The actual Recollections store!! It was so much fun! I miss meeting friends at the Friday night crops, the awesome classes they offered, in the fall they would have a weekend that was a holiday open house and you could come in, see all the holiday classes that were going to be offered and sign up while having refreshments......then they did a crop that came with a kit that had 3 different projects designed by Ali Edwards, Heidi Swapp and Tim Holtz....that exact day Tim Holtz walked into the store! I will never forget that ever! They just had so much going on all the time. Events and special crops...that store was something else! I miss it SO much!!
Oh and magazines for me too! I loved when Ali Edwards had her section of CK.....that was my favorite.
