Sean Connery. Tom Selleck. Paul McCartney. A whole raft of Australian singers from my youth who most of you wouldn't know, especially those who have had health scares in recent years.

I got hooked on Diagnosis Murder when I was on maternity leave with DS, so 12 years ago. My friends who were SAHMs would ring to see if I wanted to catch up.... "Um, not until the afternoon, I have to, um.... do the grocery shopping." In reality I had to watch Little House on the Prairie, Diagnosis Murder and Quincy MD. Every day. 

I don't want to see a death announcement for anyone under age 65 and in addition to those already mentioned I would add:

Tony Bennett
Tom Jones
Mick Jagger
Rod Stewart
Elton John
Roger Waters

Morrissey. He is the only 'celeb' I would truly be devastated about losing.

Bruce Springsteen

I don't know why but Harrison Ford popped into my mind when I heard about Debbie Reynolds. I hope I'm wrong!
My gut is it will be someone relatively young like Prince, Carrie Fisher, etc, etc. Like Nicolas Cage.

Roseanne- I don't think she's *that* old but regardless I've always loved her and grew up watching her shows.

- Not exactly a celebrity but Pope Francis tops my list. I have been so inspired by him as has my husband (raised deeply Catholic but has not felt a real connection to the Catholic Church in decades).
- Totally agree with Dick Van Dyke. I love the old Dick Van Dyke show. I even follow him on Twitter (he was a big Bernie supporter which somehow suprised me and made me happy).
- Mary Tyler Moore. She is so talented and wonderful.
- Carl Reiner. Hmmm I guess I should just say everyone involved with the Dick Van Dyke show.
- Don Rickles. I have just missed seeing him perform twice. I hope I still get the chance.
- John Irving. I read everything he writes. A Prayer for Owen Meany is one of very favorite books ever.
- Sydney Poitier. So much admiration for him.
- Tony Bennett. There is nothing I don't adore about him.
- Stan Lee. I can't believe he is 94. He is still so vital. I can't even imagine how many hours I have spent with characters he created. He is pretty active on Twitter for anyone who might be interested.
- Diana Ross. She is going to be performing in Las Vegas in February and I really want to go so I can see her perform.
- David Attenborough. Still doing amazing work. I always try to catch Graham Norton when he is on. I could listen to him tell stories for hours.
- Bob Newhart. Not sure what he is up to now but I grew up watching him and now my kids know him from Elf.
- Dave Letterman. I miss watching him so much! Not ad old as the others but with his past health issues I kind of worry about him.
- Gene Hackman. One of my favorite actors of all time. For selfish reasons, I wish he hadn't retired.
- Elton John. It is rare for me to go a day without listening to an Elton John song. Goodbye Yellow Brick Row was the very first album I owned.
- Dan Rather. Another person I always look for on TV as I love hearing his stories.
- Diane Keaton. It seems bizarre to me that she is 70.
- Paul McCartney. I was raised on Beatles music, and I have been fortunate to see him perform a few times. I wish he could live forever.
- Robert Redford. Love his movies and appreciate all he has accomplished for environmental causes.
- Stephen King. I have been reading his books for nearly 40 years.Hope I will continue for many more.

Wow! I had no idea my list would be so long and I am sure I forgot many people. As you get older the celebrities you love are also aging. Makes me kind of sad. Hope all these wonderful people will be around for a long time.

eta: Reading everyone else's lists and can't believe I forgot Maggie Smith, Julie Andrews, Queen Elizabeth and Carol Burnett. Truly amazing women.

Keith Richards. Because the memes floating around about him wouldn't be so funny.

George H. W. Bush (he has looked so frail for quite awhile, but still pops up at events in Houston often-I saw him at the Houston Rodeo last spring)

Jimmy Carter (saw a video of him getting off a plane last week and it looked like he was leaning heavily on an aide-I hope he is doing well)

These four would definitely be on my list. As would Maggie Smith, Betty White and Julie Andrews.

I agree with the PP who mentioned the vacuum that will open up when we lose this older, seriously talented group of people.

I have memories of Dick Van Dyke, Doris Day, Debbie Reynolds, and Judy Garland- but had no idea until Carrie Fisher's passing which of those were still alive. It's not like we see them anymore; as opposed to the fabulous Betty White who is everywhere!
