So strange and disturbing. His inauguration is a "Great show?" Does he think that this is some reality tv show? 4 years in the life of an idiot? I swear, the more he tweets, the more crazy he becomes.

Here's what I don't get:
Yes, Arnold is taking over for you. Yes, I know your ego couldn't stand knowing that he was an equal/better host of the show than you. So you like seeing his ratings lower than yours for personal reasons.
BUT....
Aren't you still producing the show? Isn't it an investment for you? Aren't you going to benefit more from the show being a success than a failure? WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU WANT THE SHOW TO GET BAD RATINGS?
I feel like this is what the Republicans & Trump are doing to the country - they don't really care if people die because of lost health care, or if climate change means that we have more extreme weather conditions that cause suffering to the American people, or if foreign nations are manipulating our democratic system - because THEY WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, your party/candidate won.
Are you going to cheer when the effects of these decisions start trickling down? If Trump starts a war with Iran/China/North Korea/Whomever - will you be happy to send your son to fight for it? I'm pretty sure Eric and Donald Jr won't be going.
Are you going to cheer when people you know - maybe people you are even related to - end up sicker and dying because they have no medical insurance and can't get care? It doesn't look like there is a plan for what comes after ACA.
Are you going to cheer when your retirement accounts take a hit because the day's tweet happens to be about a company you have invested in? I don't think it's going to hurt Donald's portfolio much. But you might end up delaying retirement for a few years, or eating cat food for a little while until it recovers. Of course there's always Wal-Mart, they need greeters and I hear it's a good gig for retired folks.
Are you going to cheer when we have more droughts/hurricanes/tornadoes because of climate change? I don't think Trump Tower is in danger of these things, but the people in the red states sure are.
Are you going to cheer when the Russians decide that your candidate is the one they want to target in the next election? Just because they sided with Trump this time around doesn't mean that they don't have other candidates they'd support. Right now, it looks like they are interested in installing as many far-right nationalist/isolationist governments as they can, especially in Europe. They want to weaken NATO. Why would they want to do that? Aren't you at least a little bit suspicious that their motives might not be in the US or Europe's best interest?
Are you going to cheer when our intelligence community knows of an imminent attack that was ignored because Trump doesn't listen to or trust the agencies? We only hear about the failures - but don't doubt for a second that there have been attacks that have been thwarted by the IC, you just didn't hear about them because the building didn't blow up, the cafe wasn't attacked, and the airplane wasn't hijacked.
These are all things that affect all of us, red and blue states. They are very real concerns for many people. It's not all about "MY guy won, boy those liberal tears are DELICIOUS!" It's more about - people I know and care about are going to be paying a price for the policies and actions of this administration."

Trump's Twitter feed is like if my dad used twitter when he's at his most obnoxious. Seriously, I read it and think "Ugh, this is what my dad is like when we're out to dinner, he is threatening to write a bad Yelp review and thinks he is very clever."

Also, his current comments about the wall appear to me to be similar to him saying that Melania will move later...let's say that it is temporary (or that Mexico will pay us back) and then people will forget about it and he has gotten what he wants. Soften the blow in the beginning to manipulate the public.
I also heard last night that he is trying to get most of his cabinet members approved on the 11th, which is unusual to have them all done at the same time. But that is the day he is supposed to have his press conference, so the news would be focused on covering that rather than the concerns with his nominees.

For the first time EVER, I am viewing my son's blindness as a positive rather than a disability. He will still need to register for the draft next month...but if it gets to the point where they need him for the defense of the country, we're in really deep doo-doo. BTW, he was actually really upset about this. Someone posted a picture on FB that showed up on his timeline of what "real men" looked like in the 40's (a photo of a soldier on D-Day) as opposed to now (a photo of a teen boy wearing skinny jeans and looking pretty emo). He asked if people really felt that he wasn't a "real man" because he would never be able to join the military. I had to explain to him that since only .5% of Americans actually serve in the military, he had plenty of company on the "not real men" bench. It still bothered him that people he knew might feel that way about him. SaveSave

The only problem with that is - who is going to be able to buy your product? If everyone is making barely survival wages, it doesn't matter that you don't have to ship your crap across the ocean, there won't be a market for it here anymore. Exactly.

Ok, so the stuff with Benghazi and Hillary was bad, it was horrible, it was THE WORST THING EVER WHEN SHE DID IT,

Oh, it's better than that. He's also broken with tradition of letting the current ambassadors stay in place until he appoints new ones. Any Obama-appointment ambassador needs to be out by inauguration. No real good reason to do this other than spite, as it's not like any of these people have done anything at all to Trump.
So....if you're visiting one of the following countries, I hope nothing happens to you where you need the assistance of the amassador. Germany Canada Britain Costa Rica Belgium Czech Republic
I'm sure he's only doing what's best for America and American citizens around the world.

I just read that all diplomats/envoys/ambassadors are to leave their oversea posts by 1/20. While not unusual based on the a change in leadership, the strange part comes in where they are not providing grace periods. You know, grace periods for families with children still in school who want to finish the year in their current school. Grace periods are usually given no matter who the party in power is, but the letter to everyone said no exceptions, no grace periods. I would be cool if that was the example he was setting with his own job... Plus there is a chance that we have no diplomats in certain nations for months while confirmation hearings go on. Critical nations where things are happening. I do not remember a time where the newly elected leader spent so much time talking about his win. Most win and move on with life. I bet it is because of Trump most people didn't tune into the Apprentice.

ETA: I see Conde Nast own Vanity Fair and The New Yorker - I bet Trump thinks they are going to apologise! Still I don't see his need to announce every meeting he has or announce the various people who come to his office.

trump tweeted again and I wasn't going to put it here because the reality is, it could become a full time job. But this tweet developed a twist. "Toyota Motor said will build a new plant in Baja, Mexico, to build Corolla cars for US. NO WAY! Build plant in US or pay big border tax." Problem Toyota is shifting jobs from Canada to this new plant in Mexico. So either tiny hands didn't know this before he fired off his threatening tweet. Or he did and he is letting certain companies know if they want to avoid a "border tax" they have to build the product in the US. If he tweeted threatening a company without knowing the facts is certainly bad. But if he did know the facts and is threatening that if you want to sell your product in the US then it needs to be built in the US "or else" is just as bad.
The fact is the greatest potential for growth for US companies is outside the US. We start adding "border taxes" to products because they aren't built in this country my guess is other countries will do it to US products.
But does anyone really know what tiny hands mean? That is another problem with his tweets.
^^^ I heard this story this morning on NPR- I have a general question about Trump's 'tweet-threat' tendencies, and the negative fallout for the companies that's come from them. Isn't what he's doing- threatening companies with possible future government actions that will hurt their business- about the same as President Obama's 'governing via executive order' Republicans had a HEYDAY criticizing that. So why is Trump's 'twitter-legislating threats' okay?
And by that, I mean that (supposedly) President Obama was circumventing the legislative process by enacting executive orders, instead of allowing laws to be made via the Congress. I understand why he felt he had to do it-- in some instances the Congress wouldn't work with him. But isn't that pretty much the same as what Trump is doing here? He's saying things / threatening actions that are NOT law, and basically making sweeping statements about things that have NOT gone through the legislative process.
How is THIS okay but Obama's Executive Orders were NOT okay??
(and that's not even touching the fact that he just doesn't know what he's talking about.)

I'm wondering how long it will take before the people who love that he "tells it like it is" and "makes the companies toe the line - USA! USA!" will realize that these tweets can and do have an effect on their own financial well-being.
Do you have a pension? Chances are, it's invested in companies. When one of those companies receives the twitter treatment, their stocks crash. So far, they've come back up. But at some point, there will be a company that doesn't completely recover. The result will be your pension funds losing value.
Do you have an IRA? 401K? Mutual funds? Some sort of investment? Same thing.
While I know that some read into it that he's saving American jobs and putting America first with these statements, I find it to be an incredibly irresponsible way to do business. It's not just the rich CEOs who are losing money when their stock tanks - it's the employees of the company who may have investments. It's the retirees who may have investments. It's the regular people all over the USA who put their money away for retirement who have these investments. For him to tweet without the facts is horrible. It's not a lark or a funny incident - it's an action that can have real and serious consequences.
The ones who stand to make a killing on this are day traders who have the time and funds to watch his tweets and immediately jump on it, then sell a week later (if it's recovered by then). The ones who stand to lose are the retirees who don't have the funds or the time to wait for the recovery (if it takes longer than a week or month).

It's pretty bad when the country of CHINA has to say this and his own STAFF (apparently) hasn't gotten him to do it. Maybe they've told him to stop? But I doubt it.
And the whole thing about it being from his PERSONAL device?? Again, why is it okay for him to do something like that, but when Hillary used a personal server, ohmygodtheworldwillend!

Good grief...he can't attend an intelligence briefing today...everyone must have read his tweet, Anna Wintour came into HIS office today!! He has to attend the meeting that she wants him to. Anna Wintour & making sure the media doesn't make fun of his tiny hands and that they use flattering photos of him...much more important than that silly global security stuff.
