It'll hurt you both cupcake, unless you no longer hold LLBean stock. Sadly it will hurt the workers too - but many things hurt employees (like offshoring, outsourcing and automating) who are powerless to make decisions in their company's or its stockholders donations and other decisions; unless the employees own the company via a co-op situation. |

I don't buy any of LL Bean products so if I choose not to buy any in the near future, it won't be difficult.
I wonder if any "endorsements" by him will also lead to that company's stocks falling as much as criticism does.

She's right, it will hurt the workers. Which is why most companies try to stay neutral on politics, to sell stuff to as many people as possible. If she wants to limit her customers, well, other people sell backpacks too. Yes it will hurt the workers AND the shareholders. And lots of things hurt the workers, like moving their jobs offshore or automating them. Funny how they don't give a sh#( about hurting the workers when it helps the shareholders' profits, only when it also hurts the shareholders. |

We were disappointed to learn that Grab Your Wallet is advocating a boycott against L.L.Bean solely because Linda Bean, who is only one of 50+ family members involved with the business, personally supported Donald Trump for President.

If Trump is tweeting his endorsement of a company, why would Grab Your Wallet change their position? Perhaps LLBean should be asking Trump to stop endorsing them? (Maybe they did, I don't know). It's all well and good when he singles companies out and stocks rise, but a problem when the financial impact is negative. Hence the reason a President shouldn't be so careless with comments/tweets in the first place. And pay no attention to the fact her donations were made illegally either.

If LL Bean had any corporate sense or good advisors they'd have kept their mouths shut about #GrabYourWallet and just spoken about their corporate values. By looking to castigate #GrabYourWallet, they turned it much more political than they should have as a corporate entity who is trying to keep as broad an appeal as possible (ala "Happy Holidays")

His endorsement is a negative in my book.
There are other people I would put in this category, Adolf Hitler, Vladmir Putin, Josef Stalin, Mussolini, Jared Fogel, Ted Bundy.....

I would not boycott LL Bean because one person in the family is a Trump supporter. I would, however, like to beg someone on Mr. Trump's staff, anyone, to please take away his access to Twitter.

Linda Bean is the one who is under investigation for her illegal donations to Trumpster's campaign.
EDITED FOR ADDITIONAL INFO/clarified:
She donated $60,000 to Trumps campaign via a PAC.
A PAC limits contributions at $5,000, therefore the $60,000 that LB made was illegal.

I wouldn't consider it either if PEOTUS had just said "thank you for your support Linda Bean", not added the "of LLBEAN" and urging people to "buy LLBean". Federal employees would be fired for endorsing a company publically like that. And LLBean's response to go after Grab Your Wallet and not address Trump's remarks seems to indicate they come down on a political side. |

We've seen stocks fall because Trump blasted a company (yes, I know, they recovered. Not the point). Would we see stocks fall because Trump endorsed a company? |
